On our most recent visit, his hair had come out of his ponytail and was literally hanging down over our plates while he served us. That is where I draw the line. I do not expect anyone working in a restaurant to look perfectly polished, and I do not care about personal style, but hair hanging over food is a very basic sanitation concern and something management should be addressing. It's especially frustrating because the food itself is still very good, and we genuinely like Haus Heidelberg. I hope this is corrected, because I would much rather continue supporting the restaurant than feel uneasy about something as preventable as basic food-handling hygiene.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I order from Firehouse Subs bc FF family here. I never get lettuce or onions bc they upset my stomach. I ordered their Hook & Ladder sandwich w/o lettuce or onions (see the pic & receipt) directly from their online website as I'm a Loyalty Member, too. There's not even mayo on the bread or any meat, just lettuce, onions & tomato on this 'sandwich'. It's literally bread with lettuce, tomato, and tons on smelly onion. So I called...got the manager. Told him, offered the pic I took. And he tells me there's nothing he can do, that he's, "spent a lot of time talking to you, when we've done $2200 worth of business today already and no one else has complained" and that it is"a delivery problem." Since when does delivery MAKE the sandwich? The manager took NO responsibilty for this mess & incorrect order, and even said he didn't know their online app offered delivery! I'm beyond livid. More, this was a special Sunday treat that I figured would help support FFs, and to be blatantly ignored when I have a legit complaint...boogles my mind. I'm furious at the wasted money...but more, I'm extremely disappointed. Especially since I will never order from them again. read more

Like many subhouses you try to keep up with Sub*** and can't. I have never have a bad sub at the other chain but when I stop at yours I am never sure what I am going to get, as many of your reviews indicate. So I have quit going to your chain. I am sure others have also. To have someone with a service animal treated so poorly is criminal and also illegal by most state and a federal laws. TomW read more

The meat was tasty and well cooked, the bacon still had a bit of chew to it rather than being overly crisped, the tomato was good, the lettuce had some crunch. Best true fast food burger I've had in some time. A definite 5. The onion rings were good but not great. Crispy outside, but not much onion inside. The shake was very good, tasty, and about as thick as you can yet without needing a spoon. If it was closer to my house than a 30 minute drive I would be a regular customer. I'll certainly keep my eyes open for their restaurants in my travels. Wish I could give 4 1/2 stars, it was definitely better than a 4, but not quite a 5.
