For jarring my memory and giving me memories to fix not writing a great review for this place. We traveled to Brevard back in 2022 for one of our annual leaf viewing tours. Fun fact about Brevard! There are white squirrels everywhere. There are also regular brown squirrels too. My wife told me about this before we got here but it's strange, there are so many of them. One of the oddest things I find is that there are no mixed squirrels. Like kinda brown, or kinda white, it's either one or the other. They hang together, surely they get it on. What the hell is going on here?!?!? Where did they come from? Why haven't they spread to other areas?? Anyway.... About this bakery. We stopped by here a few times for meals and snacks. Most of it was just pretty good and nothing to really write home (lol) about. I did not know this at the time and did not truly savor the moment well enough. I had the absolute best pastry I have ever had in my life here. I often think back to it and when I see a similar looking pastry only to be let down when I try it. It was the scone to beat all other scones!!! So freaking good!! Orange Pistachio Coriander was the flavor and nothing will ever beat it I am afraid!! If you make it here, check out the white squirrels. There are even gift shops dedicated to them and I swear they have little signs all over town about them. Also.... Mantiques is right down the way. I called and was told there are frequent glitches that cause this to happen, and my pizza was on the way. Okay, great...I'll wait. Around 20 minutes later, my Blink indicates motion at my front door. I retrieve the 2 boxes ( a large pizza and cheesy bread) and upon opening the pizza box, I notice a slice missing. Perhaps it was the way the pizza was cut, but it obviously appear a missing slice (photo included, you decide). Then I find the marinara sauce for my wife's cheesy bread weren't included. I ordered an extra container of marinara as my wife doesn't enjoy cheesy bread without it. Wonderful. The person who handled the call said they were the one who delivered the order, and they would never take a slice of anything containing jalapeno peppers. Um, okay. Great. For a franchise that enjoys a monopoly on pizza delivery in the Etowah area, one would hope they would do right by their customers. In the past, they have and have done so quite well. Tonight, they not only dropped the ball, they spiked it. Normally I would give this particular location/franchise a 5 star review as all other orders have been spot on. Unfortunately, this experience has provided me a poor experience. I write this not necessarily to complain, but to inform management (or franchise owner) of this negative experience, considering their investment and reputation. At least the seven of the eight slices of pizza were good.
