Our first visit under new ownership, and we'll be back! Great breakfast. Simple menu, but everything we had was delicious..

I love, love, love that you can pick half sandwiches and half salads of everything. I got the half turkey avocado sandwich and a half Bakery salad. They were both phenomenal and I'm drooling just thinking about them. My husband got the Margherita pizza and my 7 year old got a cheese. The pizzas are good size- 13 inches. My husband demolished his and my daughter ate all but one or two pieces (which my husband and I helped finish off). They both loved their pizzas. Even though we were stuffed, we had to have a dessert so we got a slice of carrot cake. Carrot cakes can really go wrong if the icing is too sweet but this icing was perfect. I didn't feel like I was going to go into sugar shock after eating it. The employees were all really nice. The bathroom was clean. I will absolutely be back next time I'm in the Asheville/Brevard area. If you're hiking, it wasn't far at all between DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest. We did waterfall hikes at DuPont starting around 8:30 am and then had lunch here before heading down the road to others at PNF.

I found Morning Social through a "featured restaurants in Brevard" newsletter and chose to give them a try. I called to check for a wait time before departing our hotel. There was no wait for a weekday at 10am. We sat at their covered outdoor dining area. They have an expansive indoor dining area too. Our server was prompt, friendly, and attentive. I appreciate her "premier" service that got our day started on a positive note.

The missing "star" was the service. We could not get our server for 30 minutes. We tried to flag her down a few times, but I think that she forgot about us. She only came to us once she was told that another couple sat down in her section. We spent in total from check-in to leave about two hours and 15 minutes, for refrence we only waited 20 minutes for a table, the rest of the time it was on the kitchen and server to turn our table. The flow of customers was interesting as well as it felt like there was a line for the bar and people were just staring at us while eating our food and asking us if where they were standing was a line for the bar to get drinks. It was our first time so I couldn't really help anyone else unfortunately. But I feel like there did need to be clearer signage if there was an option to go up to the bar and grab drinks while you wait for your table. Or a floor manager that can better control the traffic.

Here we go again!!! Another review spurred by a lovely Yelper liking my pictures. Thank you Rose…read moreD. For jarring my memory and giving me memories to fix not writing a great review for this place. We traveled to Brevard back in 2022 for one of our annual leaf viewing tours. Fun fact about Brevard! There are white squirrels everywhere. There are also regular brown squirrels too. My wife told me about this before we got here but it's strange, there are so many of them. One of the oddest things I find is that there are no mixed squirrels. Like kinda brown, or kinda white, it's either one or the other. They hang together, surely they get it on. What the hell is going on here?!?!? Where did they come from? Why haven't they spread to other areas?? Anyway.... About this bakery. We stopped by here a few times for meals and snacks. Most of it was just pretty good and nothing to really write home (lol) about. I did not know this at the time and did not truly savor the moment well enough. I had the absolute best pastry I have ever had in my life here. I often think back to it and when I see a similar looking pastry only to be let down when I try it. It was the scone to beat all other scones!!! So freaking good!! Orange Pistachio Coriander was the flavor and nothing will ever beat it I am afraid!! If you make it here, check out the white squirrels. There are even gift shops dedicated to them and I swear they have little signs all over town about them. Also.... Mantiques is right down the way. Great shopping!! '22 - I can't even remember, lol.

A lot of cafes in and around the greater Asheville area have a similar vibe. Small, hip, no frills, friendly and welcoming. You'll notice all the framed rave reviews on the wall inside and the website boasts its 16 year reign as #1 restaurant in Brevard, and the menu definitely lives up. We started with the Bavarian Pretzel (which was actually recommended to us by the server at the chocolate shop across the alleyway.) It was very much the right way to go. The pretzel is adorned with several meats, slices of cheese, picked veggies (the pickled okra is amazing!) and some dipping sauces. You could come just for this, a few drinks and maybe another app and have a wonderful time! However you'd miss the delicious entrees. I got the Brunswick stew which was heavenly. My son loved his cedar plank salmon, said it was one of this favorite salmon preps he's ever had. The ambiance on the patio was pleasant with the hanging plants. The restaurant feels like a hidden gem as you have to travel one of the side alleys to find it. But locals seem to have no problem finding their award winning fave. If you're visiting town, this restaurant is definitely a winner. Plus there are some great shops to stroll nearby before or after.

For dinner I had the southwest blackened chicken Cobb salad which was very good as well. Prices were a little up there, but not too crazy. The restaurant was nicely appointed, comfortable and they have a separate room for their bar.
