Nickel and Dimed. Besides the bread being cold in the middle, the food and service were good enough to return. Unfortunately, Wild Morel's billing practices caused me literally leave angry. Be aware that Wild Morel charges a 4% credit card fee on an inflated sub total that was unexplainable. This is not an inexpensive restaurant so all expenses / profit can easily be baked into to prices. First and last time at Wild Morel. Will not support Wild Morel with these billing practices. read more

Where can I even start? I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Every single item we ordered from the menu, including items we didn't even get to order looked and tasted phenomenal. True complements to the chef for this one. Everything on the menu was delicately created and paired perfectly with every item on the plate. All of the flavors and layers tied into each other like poetry. We came here for my in-laws anniversary dinner and enjoyed many good laughs, food, and drinks. To be honest, I don't think there is one bad thing I can say about this place. Service was impeccable, and we were provided with everything that we needed and everything was served to us in a timely matter. Our table was ready when we got there and we were seated in a darling area with pillows, a bench, and some other chairs. Every area you could be seated in this place was absolutely adorable and the dim lighting made every opportunity there an intimate experience. The ambience was incredible. What an unexpected treat. We were driving through Brevard and made a last-minute reservation. My wife and I are foodies and we were VERY impressed. The veal meatball appetizer was outstanding (the sauce was out of this world). We each had pasta dishes (squid ink linguine with shrimp and scallops for me, linguine Alfredo with truffles for my wife) that were phenomenal. Topped off with a fruit cobbler a la mode that we loved. If you are near Brevard, give yourself a treat and eat at this restaurant. You will be glad you did. read more

Housed in a charming reimagined cottage, the environment transports you to a rustic mountain hideaway. A native stone fireplace greets you as you enter the restaurant's waiting area. The thoughtful decor only hints at the attention given to the edible offerings. Our table selected the halibut, the pasta bolognese, and the wild boar pappardelle. All were delicious. The halibut was perfectly grilled, crust outside and moist inside. The wine list is heavily Italian varietals. We shared the berry cobbler made with olive oil cake and mixed berries, this being summer, and the cheesecake. Both were devoured. This is a gem in downtown Brevard. read more

The food is expensive and doesn't match the quality of the food served. The wait staff is kind and a pleasure to converse with. The atmosphere is dark and dim so it's hard to see the finer details of my food. The food itself was barely passable and nowhere near the quality I'd expect for the price I paid. The Chef/possible owner appears to be rude and dismissive towards his back of house, I overheard him talking very poorly to one of his employees, and it left a bad taste in my mouth. The Bill, at the end of the meal, was significantly larger than the total I calculated based on the prices on the menu. Add on to that the expected tip and I can confidently say that I cannot recommend this place for the unethical billing practices alone before considering the subpar food, moody dark lighting and the poor temperament of the chef in the white shirt. read more

The location, setting and decor are appealing, but our Sunday afternoon service on 10/26/2025 was well-below par. The inside temperature was uncomfortably cold. Cloth napkins were not provided and we had to raid another table. They could not provide hot milk with tea service. My husband's entree was delivered 20 minutes after mine, with no apology. Generally, the table service was slow, and the 4% add on charge for credit cards made for an unsatisfactory dining experience. read more

What a quaint, beautiful spot! We made reservations for a Saturday night, had fabulous service from hostess, bar and wait staff. We ordered the artisanal bread (delicious), pate (I was told was delicious), fish of the day (salmon with mashed potatoes, Brussels), and ribeye steak (with pommes frites and creamed spinach). Everything was amazing and came out in a timely manner. The menu suggested certain wines with each dish which was helpful. In originally looking this up it was tagged as a vegetarian restaurant which is inaccurate, just a heads up for anyone who may be looking for that in particular. We went to Wild Morel during a girls weekend. Having come to Brevard many times we were excited to try this cozy spot. Our waitress was Melissa and she was so fun and great to work with. We had the crab cake, the trout dip, the warm fresh bread and the goat cheese salad. We loved splitting the appetizers giving us an opportunity to try different things. The ambience was gorgeous. Very aesthetically pleasing. Just when we finished we decided to sit back down in the bar area by the fire and share the cobbler and have drinks....What a treat! We ate here after the Brevard Philharmonic performance for "Sunday Supper". This fixed price menu choice of down home cooking entrees is just what we needed. I had the pork chop, a nice size juicy tender lightly seasoned awesome piece of meat. The accompaniments were delicious. My wife had the trout, a nice thick portion. My husband and I came to Brevard for our wedding anniversary and made anniversary night dinner reservations at Wild Morel. Why they got 3 starts: The online menu looked great, the plates of food that were brought to all the tables around us looked delicious and had fantastic presentation. The restaurant was a lovely little house with a outdoor patio eating area. Why they didn't get 5 stars: We arrived for our 7pm reservation, was brought water and silverware, by 7:15 pm we were still waiting on a server to come and take our drink and appetizer order. We went to the hostess stand to ask for a server, they were very apologetic. Come 7:20 a server has still not come to our table so we left. I hope everyone who was able to dine there has wonderful food! read more

The Chef appears to be a hothead. The guests tonight who heard him angrily disagree with a customer, get physically red in the face and literally drop a cell phone on the table would all agree that he towered over a table while being loud enough for everyone to overhear. His menu lists an entree as a "venison steak" but it came to the table as an undercooked ground hamburger patty that definitely never began as an actual piece of steak. It was served with small boiled potatoes - dry & barely warm with no seasoning on them at all. He said he had thirty years of experience as his defense for why he could serve medium rare ground venison and call it "steak" even when shown on a cell phone that ground venison should not be served medium rare in keeping with food safety standards. He took the phone in his hands before changing his mind and dropping it while saying he did not need to read it. Extremely rude, especially since he talked loud enough for the whole room to hear (and appear to be made to feel awkward during their meals). The patty was lacking in every manner, including taste, temperature & texture and to call it venison "steak" is laughable. We will not be returning. read more

The mussels were not tasty and were mushy, the tagliatelle bolognese for $28 was totally basic served on a flat dish with no notion of presentation and no parsley, Parmesan or garnish of any kind and very little meat, bread for $6, the bill I got had a $64 overcharge error on it and the whole experience was disappointing. read more

Beyond great dining experience. We are vegetarian and we don't eat cheese. Chef Tony knows how to cook vegetables without smothering the in dairy goo. and in my 40+ years of vegetarian dining, this restaurant ranks in the top three. We've been there twice and both experiences were absolutely stellar. Even though we waited a short time to be seated the meal was very timely and great service in spite of short staffed. My wife and I enjoyed a glass of wine (excellent selection) and our pasta dishes. I was only in Brevard for a couple days and thankfully, I went here on the last day. I know if I would have gone the first day, I wouldn't have eaten anywhere else!!! The food, atmosphere, decor, and entire experience was 10000/10!!! I started with asking for some bread and butter and I'm SO glad I did. It wasn't on the menu, but our sweet server brought us some to the table and it was ridiculously amazing. Then, I had the mushroom ravioli special and it was a spiritual experience. Honestly I ate it with my eyes closed like some kind of weirdo just so I could be immersed in the taste. My husband got the venison chili which he said was "solid." (This is high praise from him.) One good thing to know is that the chili is a small bowl, so don't order it if you're super duper hungry... I will 100% be visiting this restaurant every time we come back to town! read more

There were 8 of us on a Monday night at 6:30....Had to ask our waitress to light the cheap candles on the table, that was a challenge and took about 20 mins to complete. Next, we ordered cocktails, they didn't hit the table till 7:10, that was ridiculous...our waitress said the bartender was slammed, I guess so. The food was excellent, so there's that, but for the price we paid, the service was horrible...and it was more than aggravating. Also we split the check, and the nerve of this place to charge a 3% service charge. read more

So, first the shrimp & grits...for a chef from Charleston, a total lack of seasoning was unbelievable! We had 4 folks dining who tasked everything and all agreed that the seasoning had just been "forgotten". Next, we tried Sunday Supper...no complaints about seasoning for Fried Chicken...best crust and most tender breast meat ever. There are other dark meat pieces equally as tasty but it is always a challenge to tenderize breast meat when frying. This was over the top. The "house salad" is comprised a few leaves of butter lettuce, boring rounds of carrots, red onions....certainly could use some inspiration here. Very disappointing experience. Our party was seated at a table on the lovely terrace. Our waitress arrived, introduced herself and left menus. Unfortunately, there was no insert in the drinks menu, so when she returned, we asked about wine choices. She said she'd get the wine list. Another server walked part way along the terrace, asked a table if they needed a wine list, and when they said no, turned around and left. Eventually, it was brought to our table and we ordered food and drinks. Drinks arrived promptly. The salads were the highlight of the meal. Delicious, fresh tender greens, nicely dressed. The burrata was very nice. One person had steak and said it was overcooked. The sauce on the shrimp and grits was not like the usual, more like a cream sauce and it had a skin on the top, like it had been waiting for pick up in the kitchen. The waitress never checked back to see if we needed anything. During the meal, one employee, presumably the hostess, visited a nearby table at least six times to chat. I never saw her check in with any other table. read more

Fabulous! The bread is truly homemade and served crunchy warm with olive oil & balsamic. The red pepper-artichoke soup was out of this world. My swordfish was so-so---too thick so not cooked enough in middle. The potatoes a little bland. My drink was too strong---paloma. My husband had the wild boar ragu---not enough sauce but ok. Best meal we had in the Pisgah Forest area however. Atmosphere is charming. read more
