Lately, the only burgers I've been eating are double quarter pounders from McDonald's. I visited with my family and was surprised by how small and old-fashioned the bar looked. I'm not sure how old it is, but if they were going for an old-timey aesthetic, they nailed it. After a short wait, we were seated, and a waiter quickly took our order. I went with a patty melt, since it had been years, and added a side of fries, which weren't included but were hand-cut and prepared fresh daily. I checked the inside of the burger and noticed grill marks, which was promising since no gas was used. The burger had a charcoal flavor and was cooked perfectly to my preferred medium rare. The mayo had a nice zing, and the rye bread was high quality and toasted just right. The hand-cut fries, however, were a letdown as some were overcooked and a bit too oily. Overall, it was a good meal. I'd return to this place and try another burger, but I'd opt for a different side instead of the fries.

What really stood out to me was the overall experience. Great service is one thing, but when you combine it with a comfortable atmosphere, good people, and the feeling that the staff actually cares whether you enjoy yourself, it turns an ordinary night out into something memorable. There are plenty of places where you can spend your money. There are far fewer places that make you leave thinking, "I definitely want to come back." The Pavilion is one of those places. If you're in Brevard or anywhere nearby and haven't been yet, put this place on your list. The pretzel is adorned with several meats, slices of cheese, picked veggies (the pickled okra is amazing!) and some dipping sauces. You could come just for this, a few drinks and maybe another app and have a wonderful time! However you'd miss the delicious entrees. I got the Brunswick stew which was heavenly. My son loved his cedar plank salmon, said it was one of this favorite salmon preps he's ever had. The ambiance on the patio was pleasant with the hanging plants. The restaurant feels like a hidden gem as you have to travel one of the side alleys to find it. But locals seem to have no problem finding their award winning fave.
