We are back baby! I don't know what happened but the best sushi in Manhattan Beach is back. They closed for a remodel? They have everything online now, which is convenient for ordering. But not for the weekends. I don't live in Manhattan and they only have delivery options on the weekends, but they don't deliver to my area. The service fee they add now is pretty hefty 10%. Which is no joke considering the price, plus tax, service fee and tip. They do send coupons and have rewards you can redeem. Those basically negate the service fee and a little more. read more

Pisces sushi is like no other! I have a couple of favorites, the Toro is an indulgent experience, it's smooth, rich, and melts in your mouth as soon as you taste it- I love the delicate, bright flavor of their 2 pc Shiromi, it's so light and tangy, it really perks up and energizes your palette! Their chirashi bowls are very generous; their perfectly seasoned sushi rice pairs so well with the ample fish cuts, I actually feel spoiled any time I receive them. Kioshisan takes great care on masterfully preparing each cut (to order, mind you), it's obvious this has been a labor of love for him and Sarasan over the years; we are blessed to be able to experience it! I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are about, but suspect folks come in expecting immediate service, or such. This is call ahead and take out folks! I found staff very helpful and friendly, even though we have some complicated food allergies, it was handled with grace. Fish was fantastic. Among the best I've had and we eat sushi at least once a week. And don't frequent pre-cut sushi joints at all. So call an hour ahead, go pick it it up (if you're in a car you may want to bring someone along to hop out as parking is a valid issue). And yes expensive, but it's Manhattan Beach and the good stuff! There is a little standing bar area but not sure if you can eat there. It's mainly set up as a take out place. First time we came we didn't order ahead and there was one lady making everything so it took a bit since it seems she cooks and makes everything by scratch. She suggested us call to order next time so we don't have to wait. This time we called our order in and it was right on time! First time we went, we ordered a few ultimate rolls, forgot which ones. They were all good but felt like it was a bit saucy. She added some decorative sauce I would probably ask for on the side or not at all since I like dipping my rolls in soy sauce and wasabi more, but that's personal preference. My sig-other loved it. This time we decided to go more purist. We ordered a Chirashi Bowl, Sashimi Mix plate and a California roll. Everything was excellent, great variety. I honestly think the quality of the fish here is the best in South Bay! I have yet to find a place that is great, consistent across the board and not $$$$. I can assure you that we were at your restaurant. The footage should show our confusion as we walked in and out several times, confused that the sign said Pisces but no restaurant was in sight. Just a counter and cash register. We rang the small bell on the counter for service. I have already taken accountability for not noticing on Google that it was take out or deluvery only. We eat out at least twice a week and that includes trying new places. The time I put on my last correspondence was wrong and I could not edit it by the time I noticed. Super warm personable owners ! I came back several days days in a row in the beginning of the pandemic. I finally was able to come back and try this place again for the third time and can confirm that this is one of the best sushi spots in Los Angeles county. It's a moderately price sushi joint right near the beach. The owners are actually from Japan. The wife is actually a Pisces which is how this cute little pick up eatery get its name. So far I believe I've tried the tuna roll , The spicy crunchy tuna roll, The salmon roll , The spicy scallop roll and the rainbow roll! I don't think that there is a mediocre tasting item on the menu. Everything I live tried so far is superior to A lot more notable sushi spots in LA e.g. sugar fish / sushi kazu nori. However there are definitely stand outs That I would judge as being the best in LA County such as their rainbow specialty roll!!!!! Honestly the best rainbow roll is the best I've ever personally had. Even though I have never been able to actually try sushi in Japan I believe this is the closest thing that you can get!!!! I also love that they also offer little Japanese candies to purchase at the register. I always make sure to pick up a few because if you don't know Japanese gummy's are the best you'll ever have!!
