    Chicken Teriyaki

The Kei Deluxe Lunch at O-Sho Sushi is an excellent combination of classic Japanese favorites. The lunch includes chicken teriyaki, shrimp and vegetable tempura, a California roll, plus soup, salad, and rice. A great weekday lunch.

Good! Was craving spicy tuna rolls. I usually only eat at Nobu but O-Sho did the trick for a quick fix in Manhattan Beach. Owner/Sushi Chef Hiro is super nice. Fast service. Fine ambiance. Ordered 2 rolls which were really like 3. Took the rest to go as I could not finish. I would return. :)

Food was authentic and delicious and so fresh! I was taken here for my birthday and the lunch specials are simply out of this world! I love the set up of this restaurant too!

Osho is the BEST sushi in the South Bay, hands-down. I always check their specials whiteboard posted above the sushi bar to see what daily catches they have ! The fish is always fresh. I love the cucumber calamari salad; it is light and refreshing. The spicy yellowtail handroll is the best one I have ever had. The fish is excellent and the taste speaks for itself, not covered in mayo like a lot of other local places... This is a family run restaurant and still has most of the same staff they've had for the passed 30 years. It is not the cheapest place in town, but it is priced fairly considering the quality is excellent and very fresh. I highly recommend. The soft shell crabbed is also something special !

I'm a big sushi fan and this one is close to where I work so I decided to try it out. The reviews are not great but above average. I did enjoy it and had a mixed plate with salmon teriyaki, brown rice($1.50 extra), shrimp/vege tempura and miso soup which was lukewarm and below average. Total cost with a Sprite and tip was $40.

My taste buds were set in their ways the moment I woke up: "WE WANT A BENTO BOX LUNCH!" Heard it loud and clear. I kinda have go-to places already for this, but kinda wanted to try a new place, so thanks to our ever so dependable Yelp, the search was pretty easy. Had a bit of time for a work lunch break, and after a quick famish-causing errand, I found myself parking on their private lot in no time. EDAMAME: I felt I wanted a starter, to wake up the taste buds a bit. This was a good one. Good salt level, easy eats. But nothing to call home about. It was average at best, but a good starter nonetheless. MACKEREL SUSHI: A must have whenever I see it on the menu. It had that very familiar metallic, vinegarish fishy taste that I like. Almost served as a palate cleanser. Delish! LUNCH SPECIAL D: Comes with miso soup and salad. Salad was fresh and didn't drown in the dressing. Miso was pretty hearty and the flavor wasn't overpowering. I didn't learn the fish was teriyaki salmon until it was too late (for the record, not really a fan of teriyaki anything.) But I didn't wanna knock I until I try it. It really wasn't bad! Fish was grilled moist, flaky and tasty. If anything, I'd come back for this sans the sauce and sub with simple salt and pepper. The tempura batter was a little thick and bland for my taste. Dipping them in the tempura sauce didn't help as it was under seasoned as well. The soy sauce fixed that a bit, but they were average at best. The iced green tea was a refreshing way to wash it all down. FOOD: 3.5. SERVICE: 4. VALUE: 3.5. PARKING: Street parking and Private lot shared with a few businesses. Not an issue on a Friday lunch rush. OVERALL: 3.75. Now on my radar. It's now in the hat of bento box places I can choose from. Better than average first run.

A little Japanese restaurant on Sepulveda Blvd. in Manhattan Beach has been at this location for many years. The good ...huge portions. We each ordered combination dinners which could have been shared between 2 people. Reasonable prices for the amount of food. Our dinners were about $20 each for the 3 items including soup and rice. The not so good...food was mediocre. Tempura batter was thick and soggy and beef a little tough. Chicken teriyaki was ok. Service was cordial. Not too many diners for a Saturday night. Sushi bar was pretty empty. Place seemed clean with parking out front. Not the best Japanese food, but edible.

    Chicken udon ans ice tea
    Shannon W.

I went to this place for lunch and I really wanted to like it. However, I feel like I ordered the wrong items. I got a $12.50 chicken udon and a $3.50 iced tea. The udon was very salty and not very visually appealing; I think it could use some more color. I would have preferred to pay more for an "upgraded" udon with more toppings. The iced tea was very standard and since I don't usually order iced tea, I wasn't expecting it to be just average. Despite the restaurant being very busy with families during lunch, the service was fast. 3.5 stars for my dining experience today.

Hidden in plain sight, Kagura is a top tier Japanese dining experience. It should be noted that this place is more $$$ than it is $$, and that's a compliment. I dropped $50+ here and it was easy to say it was worth it. I treat myself to the Kagura Gozen chef especial that was limited on how many was served per day and a Orion Okinawa draft beer. Plus, I had leftovers. The chef special came with more-than-a-little of everything. Each dish was unique and delicious. I was treated to a full spread of amazing Japanese cuisine. Sashimi was fresh, katsu was thick and juicy with a lightly breaded crust, eel was flavorful and soft, and the soba noodles were perfect. The restaurant is clean and beautifully laid out. I got vibes of actually being in Japan. If you have a reservation, you can get a private booth. The attractive staff were fantastic. Friendly and fast. Water glass was always full and empty dishes were promptly removed. Last tid bits. Two clean solo bathrooms and street parking.

This time, I noticed this location offers special Gozen set meals that I hadn't seen before. They had a limited Dinner Gozen on the menu with only 10 sets available each night. Of course I had to order it. The set came with a little bit of everything: sushi, sashimi, katsu, eel rice, toro rice, ikura rice, soba, a variety of small cold side dishes, soup, and salad. It was a huge meal and I was honestly surprised I managed to finish the whole thing. I really enjoyed it because you get to try so many different items in one meal. If you're like me and love Japanese food, this is a great way to sample a little bit of everything without having to order a bunch of separate dishes. Everything tasted fresh and the quality was excellent. The restaurant itself isn't very big, so it can get pretty busy. They do take reservations though, which I'd recommend if you're planning to come during dinner. Overall, I really enjoyed this special Gozen meal and would definitely come back. It was a fun experience and a great value for the variety and quality of food you get.

It was prepared table side and was just incredible. Our server Kelly was amazing! Loved her great recommendations, and she constantly checked in with us. Her German/Ecuadorian heritage coincided with an upcoming World Cup match, so having her as our server was extremely fortuitous. The restaurant ambiance is simple yet welcoming along the main road. Parking was a little crowded but we found street parking not far away. I love how they have a waitlist and how food came out really quickly. They have their own special soy sauce recipe! The Bar is located in a super fun little strip mall towards the back of the mall. It's sort of low key, so it's not really too crowded, hard to find parking, or much of a wait to be seated generally. I loved how friendly and social the staff are as you're being served your hand rolls, it made the experience that much more enjoyable. Service is prompt and you're welcome to order more food at any point during your meal. I loved the 6 piece. It was a more traditional hand roll offering of salmon, spicy tuna, amber jack, blue crab, toro, and scallop. The hand rolls were all so flavorful, but my favorites were the blue crab for its creaminess and the amber jack for the lemon zestiness that paired so well with the protein. To our surprise, we found this "new" place, The Second Wind. The menu looked enticing and the lunch specials really looked like a great deal. So we decided we needed to come back for lunch and soon. A week later, we returned. Parking is very easy in the free lot for the complex. The interior design is energenic, vivrant with amazing looking Asian inspired pop art. Very cool interior. You can be seated and served or order to go. They have a combination lunch special, two items for $15.99. But, many of those items have an up charge if you add a protien. Either way, in these times, $16 for two items is reasonable. Our server greeted us quickly and let us choose the table of our liking. There are a handful of booths and open tables. My wife ordered the Beef Bulgogi and the Eggplant. I ordered the Chicken Dumplings and the Garlic Noodle (adding chicken for $2 more). The portions are generous. Light eaters might be able to just order one two dish combo and share. The Beef Bulgogi was good but the veggies looked a bit dehydrated. The Eggplant was just okay. The Chicken Dumplings were very tasty but served cool. I ordered them steamed and expected them to be warm at least. The Garlic Noodles with chicken was the biggest disappointment. To me, and my wife, over cooked with crunchy pieces. The chicken was also over cooked, dry and tough. When our server asked how things were, I mentioned it. He didn't seem surprised. I asked if the noodles were always dry and he said yes. He offered to bring more sauce, which he did. I added it but it didn't make the chicken any better. In the end, I left 90% of it. They only have cans of sodas so no refills but they are attached to a tea house that serves a great selection of teas, bobo, etc. There was some good things but more not, overall, we were disappointed. Honestly, I was a bit surprised they didn't offer to replace my dish or offer a small discount. They could see the pile of food I left. Anyway... Hopefully your experience and food preparation will be better than ours and...enjoy!!!
