Crispy Tuna Hand Roll (spicy tuna, shrimp tempura & avocado wrapped in seaweed with eel sauce)

My coworkers always come here for lunch in between or after meetings. This restaurant is always consistent, quick and the waiters/waitresses are always on point. We were strapped for time as we had a meeting to go to afterwards. We got a seat right away and ordered. The food came out so fast and service was great! Food was solid with great portions. Thanks so much to the team here who brought us our food quickly so that we could make it to our next meeting! Definitely will be coming back again.

Decent sushi place. I came during lunch and was hoping the service would've been a little faster but it was slow and I felt rushed to eat and get back to work. There wasn't any lunch specials, so that was a little bit of a letdown. However the restaurant was very clean and the waitress was nice. I might skip this place for lunch and try it for dinner instead when I'm not on a time crunch.

It's so beautiful here but def a little more pricy then I'm used too lol but it was totally worth it for my tonkatsu ramen. I didn't get to take a photo of my food but the waitress was super sweet and enjoyable. Our table was in a beautiful area and the ambiance is super chill. I will def be returning but keep in mind come w a good amount to spend

Came here with a coworker after working in the area for several years and glad I came. Here for the 2nd time - the food is great and comes out fairly quick. The service is very friendly and courteous. Great place to grab a quick lunch.

Nice staff ... we came in at 5p after a flight and they were ready for us. We enjoyed some sushi and a few rolls Cubana and Salmon zest all hit the spot. Pretty place too

Kaya Sushi - My Go-To Spot for Nearly a Decade I've been coming to Kaya Sushi for over 9 years, and it's hands down my favorite sushi spot. This is a family-owned and operated restaurant where quality truly matters. Sharon is an absolute sweetheart and always makes you feel welcome, and the chefs put genuine care and attention into every dish they serve. It's taken me a while to write this review because, honestly, a part of me wanted to keep this place a little secret. It's mostly locals who come here, and many--like me--have become regulars over the years. I eat here about once a month, and when I'm feeling under the weather, I always order their seafood ramen. The broth is incredible--comforting, flavorful, and somehow revives me every time. If you're looking for fresh sushi, warm service, and a place that feels like home, Kaya Sushi is it.

This is our go to spot. We come here so often they know our name and they know our order. Sometimes, like tonight we like to switch it up and order a dessert. This was truly special. But we always order the japche and at least one of us gets bibimbap While I come here for the food, the ambience is lovely too

First of all, the Yelp reviews here are underrated. This is a superb restaurant that's friendly, attentive, clean, and peaceful (just like the little Buddha statues that align the walls). The ceilings are high, giving the place a mellow, airy feeling. The ambiance is laid back and easy going. There's even a cascading waterfall over a glass wall for that premium look. I've had the dolsot bibimbap, the Bento boxes, and the gyoza. All of it was excellent and fresh, with generous portions. The bibimbap is some of the best I've eaten (better than even those of some of the more expensive Korean restaurants in LA). The shift manager, Sharon, is a delightful host and makes you feel welcome. The rest of the staff is courteous, responsive, polite, and professional. I could eat here everyday if my spoiled American, foodie palate didn't pull me away to other cuisines. (I honestly can't eat food from the same regional cuisine for more than two days at the most.) This is one of El Segundo's best restaurants, full stop. If you're craving Japanese food, sushi, or even Korean cuisine, Kaya is a place you must try.

If someone doesn't like Japonica, then they must have defective taste buds!…read more Japonica of El Segundo is absolutely one of the top sushi restaurants in all of the South Bay of Los Angeles. They make my Friday night fish dinner a step in the food-heaven direction. The staff is out of this world, with a lovely manager, attentive servers, and talented chefs. The spicy edamame is a perfect starter if you'd like your plain edamame to have a flavor kick. The portion is big, making it plenty enough for a group of four to enjoy together. Unless you're a glutton like I am and don't feel like sharing, haha. The bluefin carpaccio practically melts in your mouth. The cut of the bluefin is absolutely just what your stomach is craving. Soft, flavorful, and satisfying to say the least. The white lightning is a saucy garlic surprise. The ever so slight sear on the albacore makes this roll have a dance party on your tongue. The garlic butter that the roll sits in has such a great taste that I just want to drink it down. Japonica El Segundo is placed in a small "strip mall" type of location, with on site parking being limited. There are several disabled designated parking spots right in front of the restaurant. Also, there is plenty of parking up & down Main Street, allowing for closeness within walking distance. There are no stairs/steps needed to enter the restaurant and the televisions do have closed-captions. The noise level is mid, making it easy to have comfortable conversations with your party without having to shout. I would absolutely recommend taking a stroll down Main Street after your meal, giving yourself some time to digest, stretch, and maybe get a scoop of ice cream from one of the local spots.

If you've been to Kagura and think you know what to expect--pause. This location hits differently…read more It leans more traditional, a little quieter, and very much about execution. And the tonkatsu? Legit one of the best I've had--perfectly fried with that golden, crisp exterior that somehow stays light, not greasy, and gives way to juicy, tender pork. The kind where you don't even need sauce... but you'll still use it anyway. What really seals it for me here is the gozen sets. If you're indecisive (or just hungry), this is your place. So many combinations, and everything comes out like a full spread. My current go-to is the steak gozen--basically the "why choose?" option. You get miso soup, salad, tonkatsu, tempura, soba... it just keeps coming. It's generous without feeling overdone, and somehow everything still tastes dialed in. I used to be loyal to the sukiyaki gozen (RIP, still not over it), but the steak set has filled that void nicely. Bottom line: delicious, satisfying, and surprisingly good value for how much you get. If you're in the South Bay and craving a proper Japanese set meal--not a rushed version--this is the move.

Glad I trusted my gut last night because it was an awesome experience. Parked in front - street parking. No meters but free after six. Pulled in just before. I've not had issues parking in El Segundo. There are lots as well as residential side streets if you can't find any on Main. At least that's the case for me. Just remember to check the signs. I sat at the counter and experienced attentive, friendly and great service. There are tables as well as a semi-enclosed booth (for larger parties). TV over the bar playing an NBA game. I wouldn't say it's a spot to go to, to watch the game. It's all about the food. Again, it's all about the food. See pics. Went for a Cucumber Salad. Liked it the least. Wished it was marinated longer. Fresh and crunchy but would have enjoyed almost pickled. And more rice vinegar. Anyway - liked it the least but still liked it enough to polish it off. There was the Yakitori. Really enjoyed the flavor and sauce but it was white meat so on the dry side for me. I prefer dark. Massive salad which I didn't - couldn't finish. Then there was the Sashimi. It wasn't on the menu but i asked about a Sashimi Combo. 15 pieces and what has been the best Sashimi I've had this year so far. Pieces melting on my tongue - epitome of Umami. The red snapper had a nice light sweetness that made me save those pieces for last. I wanted to order more but was so full trying to polish off the salad that came with the Yakitori that I just promised myself that I'd just have to come back.
