Jim was an incredible asset in purchasing our house. He allowed me to stand with him and watch the inspection go down. He was extremely thorough and would pause to check with me to ensure that I knew what he found. Unfortunately we only had one solution: replace the pipe. But Jim took the time to explain to me what to expect with the repairs, which was very much appreciated. read more

I had a plumbing inspection with them and I appreciated that they provide you with a video of the inspection and detail what they find. My main issue is that I wanted a quote for repairs and a city cleanout and never received them. I also was unaware of a main cleanout since it wasn't on my home inspection and these guys require you locate all cleanouts yourself. I was unaware of the cleanout until I got an inspection from Barnett Plumbing and their inspection actually found even more issue, but they gave me a quote for repairs immediately and scheduled a repair the next week. Overall, I felt like the money I spent on this was a waste since I only got partial information and had no quote to compare with other plumbing companies. You cannot get a quote without an inspection so it costs a lot of money to do this and it would have been helpful to compare costs with Barnett. In the end I still felt better about using Barnett given their overall customer service was much better. read more

I definitely do NOT recommend Pipe Cam. I initially called to setup an appointment for Pipe Cam to bid on a broken sewer pipe. This appointment was set for 11:30 AM. I waited all day and Pipe Cam never showed up at my house. The next day, I was expecting a call from Pipe Cam, explaining why they missed the appointment; however I got no call. That night, I called Pipe Cam and left them a message asking what was going on and why they missed the appointment. I waited several days and got no return call. At this point, I thought maybe they were on vacation or had a personal emergency. Anyway, I called again and left a message. Again, I got no response. Finally, out of frustration, I sent an e-mail and lo and behold, I got an e-mail response back. Pipe Cam told me that they were upset with me because when I called after they missed the appointment, I was annoyed with them, and they didn't like that. Well, they blew me off on the appointment, so naturally, I wasn't exactly pleased. Then they stated in their e-mail that they knew I was getting several bids on the job, so it wasn't important that they show up. Can you believe this attitude? It is now apparent that Pipe Cam never intended to show for the appointment and if I never had called they would never have called me back. It is somewhat ironic that this happened, because if they had bid my job, they probably would have gotten he work. Pipe Cam did a similar job for my neighbor and so they had the advantage of knowing the problem. I have no doubt that Pipe Cam has the technical expertise. My problem is with their handling of customers, before the job begins. Don't deal with a company that treats prospective clients the way I was treated. read more

If I could give 1,000 stars, I would. Jim performed a sewer inspection and cleanout for a house we're buying. Not only is he professional and a true expert, he is also hilarious! You will only get honesty from this plumber and he doesn't do work that's not needed. I would recommend Pipecam to anyone. My family won't be using anyone else from now on. FYI: Make sure you check out their clever slogans on the back of Jim's t-shirts! :) read more

I am very pleased with the work performed by Pipe Cam. Jim the owner was very informative, explained what was shown on the video cam and provided me with options. I had them replace the sewer line and install another clean-out. The workers arrived on time, were friendly, explained the process & answered my questions. The area was cleaned up nicely, in fact you can not tell where they dug into the ground. Cecily in the office was also very nice, informative & professional. I highly recommend Pipe Cam. read more

I loved working with Jim and Pamela at PipeCam. Jim was prompt, curious, efficient and thorough. Communication with Pamela in the office was always pleasant, prompt, and easy. Repairmen were on time, thoughtful and efficient as well.Thank you! read more

Jim and his crew do a great job and communicate the process in great detail to clients. Pamela runs a tight ship, making sure appointments are on time and the findings get send to Realtors and clients. I highly recommend this company for all real estate transactions. read more

We are in the process of buying a home and had Pipe Cam come out to send a camera down the depths of the gross sewer line. We love Jim! Not only did he take the time to inspect every inch of sewer line, he also walked our house and pointed out other things we had to consider. Great guy, awesome personality, perfect instructor, and the man to have on your "team." Can't wait to close on the house and ask this guy over for a beer......just as long as he doesn't flush the toilet. By the way, if you are in the process of buying a home call Jim and have the sewer inspected. What an instructional, fabulous afternoon. Honest. read more

My wife and I are in the process of buying our next house and our realtor recommended us getting our sewer lines checked and using Pipe cam to do the inspection. Jim was the inspector that came out for them and he was awesome. He arrived a lot earlier than expected, which I really appreciate since we had earlier inspections in the day and I didn't want to be there any later than I wanted. Anyways, in the beginning he gave me a little back story about the business, himself and some insight about what he would be checking and doing during his inspection. He was very thorough during his inspections with voice recordings and video recordings. I was able to listen and watch as he was doing the inspection. I am glad that my realtor booked these guys. Would recommend them to any of my family members or friends. Great experience and knowledge from Jim and the people of Pipe Cam. read more

As a person that doesn't know the first thing about plumbing, it was nice to have Jim explain everything to me in great detail. He was funny yet professional and didn't seem bothered at all by my endless supply of questions. read more

I don't normally leave reviews for places but honestly the service I received from pipe cam was top notch. I called last minute to try to schedule an inspection and the woman I spoke to was beyond helpful and informative on the phone. Jim who did the inspection was incredibly thorough and explained everything to us so that we could understand what we were potentially walking into. Considering earlier that day we had an inspection done by a "structural engineer " for the foundation of the home and the engineer spent a quarter of the time there and charged twice as much this inspection was a welcome change. Really can't thank them enough for the thorough and honest inspection. 100 percent recommend you use them. read more

We are so pleased with Pipecam. We used them 3 years ago for a home purchase and Jim was very honest about costs and what not to bother doing. This year we had problems with another house and had to deal with our warranty assigned plumber. The warranty guys were useless (3 call-backs in one week) so finally we paid for Pipecam to come out. What a difference! Jim imaged the line and cut out the roots for less than the warranty guys were quoting for just imaging it. While he was sending the camera down the pipe, he told us exactly what we were looking at and what needed to be done. He told us that we only had minor offsets that are not a problem at all ( as opposed to the warranty guys who were saying $5000 for a new sewer line- not covered by the warranty!) Hire Pipecam and you will not be sorry! read more

Jim is great. Knowledgeable, super friendly and nice. We just bought a house in Lafayette, which is all original. We were struggling with dealing with a variety of folks recommending various levels (all expensive!) work that needed to be done to the house. Jim was totally on the up and up - recommended just what we needed and informed us of what the future could entail. Very nice man, my dog loved him, super detailed, great maintenance recommendations - very impressed. In the sea of vendors we have been dealing with - he really stood out as the best. Highly recommend. read more

As a real estate agent it is absolutely critical to have solid vendors I can rely on to offer my clients thorough inspections and analysis to assist them in making good decisions. Pipecam is my go-to vendor for sewer inspections because Jim is an expert and is able to evaluate issues and offer potential solutions with professionalism. Not only that, his front office answers the phone and if busy, returns phone calls promptly. Yesterday Jim took 20 minutes out of his day to get on a conference call with me and my client to explain to us that perhaps a sewer inspection is not what we need, and that a pump inspection would be more appropriate. Thanks Jim for your honesty and integrity. You are definitely a "solid" vendor. Get it? read more

Great service by a very professional team. Jim came in diagnosed the problem and went to work and resolved it. Nice to have people you can count on to provide the service you need and expect. Pipe Cam, your the best. read more

These guys are great. I Bought my mothers home a three years ago, they did camera work, gave an inspection and we were done. The reason i'm writing this review as I had subsequent problems with my sewer, called them and they were super informative and helpful. The responded quickly and treated me like we had just done the camera work. They went on to say that they were extremely busy and didn't want to hold me up and made a referral to four other reputable plumbing companies. I used Able to Plumbing and they were also great! My point being with this company is that they are thorough, honest, extremely helpful (even three years later) and did an inspection that I was able to show the other company to refer to. Great Company! read more

I've lived here in Livermore for 15 years, in a old house which had the old sewer pipes, that were old, cracked and would backup all the time. I have had plumbers that would unclogged the pipe and then give me a guess on the price to put a new line in. The prices where all over the place, and no guarantees. So I went on Yelp and found this Pipe Can Inc. with high ratings and gave them a call, got friendly service and a quote to unclog the pipe, and send a camera thru to see where the problem lied, and then would get a copy of the film, and one price for the unclogged and that price would be taken off the price of the replacement of the sewer line, which would include permits and trap on my sewer outlet. Now this was the cheapest price of all the recent plumbers. So after a year I finally had enough of back up in my house, and saved enough money to get it fixed, and call them, and they said no problem, price was still the same, and they would deduct my initial amount from the unclogged I had done a year ago, it was fast, they were very professional, did it in one day, fixed the spots they had to dig out for the pipe to go in, I am so happy no more clogs and can use my washer machine, and dishwasher at the same time... yeahhhhh Jim and Pam were great efficient fast and neat. would recommend to anyone who needs replacement of a sewage line... read more

I recently rented out my home in Livermore and of course a few weeks after the tennants move in, my toilets begin to overflow and sewage was coming up in the kitchen. Eww. I've had tree root problems in my sewage line before (Gotta love those 60s terra cotta sewage lines) and called roto rooter. They went on the roof and cleared the line (since i didn't have a cleanout) and i thought my woes were over. About a week later, the toilet overflow and smell were back :( While trying to get roto rooter to come out on warranty, I called Pipe Cam on a whim to get information about installing a cleanout or replacing the line after reading all the great reviews on yelp. Pamela was amazing! She told me everything there was to know about maintaining my sewage line and knew my neighborhood as "root city". After roto rooter came out on warranty to fix the problem, without giving me ANY information about how to fix this problem for good, I immediately had Pipe Cam come out and video the line and ultimately install the clean out. Their professionalism and flexibility was incredible. Within 3 days they had the required permits and the job done, and in the meantime worked out the details with my tennats since i live in LA and had to do all of this remotely. After the job was done, I was emailed the video, permit, receipts and original estimate with ease. For sewage problems or issues, I 150% recommend Pipe Cam! read more

Jim and his crew were absolutely professional and excellent. Highly recommended and trustable. We had Rescue Rooter in for a problem - they fabricated a major problem with the sewer line and quoted $6K to resolve it. I called PipeCam and they did an inspection - flushed water through the line and thats it! Saved me thousands. Great to find service like PipeCam! Keep it up! read more

Terrible just terrible. If I could give them negative stars I would. I called about a broken bathroom faucet and the woman who answered the phone treated me very rudely. I can't say anything about the actual work they do but customer service comes first in my book and they have zero. read more

Thank you so much to Pamela with Pipe Cam! Without her my client would have been out $6000! Thanks to the horrible service at Pipespy...They told my client that the sewer line would not pass and that we would need to replace it in order to comply with the city of Hercules. After going over just a few things, year of the home and remarks from the Pipespy technician, Pamela was able to assess that there was a very good chance he was wrong and that we should have a second opinion. She nicely suggested that we easily upload it to You Tube and send her the link to take a quick look and sure enough, her opinion was different of the Pipespy guy. With her advice we sent the application and DVD to the City of Hercules and within a few short hours we passed with flying colors and have already been issued our certificate, all in one day...thanks to Pamela!! If you are going to call anyone for a sewer lateral inspection it should be Pipe Cam for sure!! Thanks again, your service and bubbly personality outshines the rest! read more

Need a sewer inspection? Remember YOU are responsible for your sewer from the house to the main line. If you haven't checked them in years, I highly recommend you do before you have an issue! I also highly recommend PipeCam! Very knowledgeable and they use a camera to inspect all the way to the main sewer. I am a Realtor in the area and I would only choose PipeCam! They are very friendly, too! read more

Jim, Pamela and all the folks at PipeCam are terrific! Jim has conducted sewer inspections on several of my real estate transactions. He sends a camera from the house all the way to the sewer main so buyers can actually see any potential sewer line problems for themselves (not as gross as you might think). If issues appear, PipeCam provides various courses of action for repair and/or ongoing maintenance needs, not just the most expensive. A side benefit is that humor abounds at PipeCam - you will laugh hysterically while you learn everything you need to know about plumbing and sewers. Their tag-line gives you a hint "Eat more fiber. Remember, your "business" is good for our business!" read more

Pam is such a pleasure to work with. Extremely professional service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will use them and recommend to anyone anytime!

I just wanted to say that my experience with Pipecam was absolutely horrible. I am a real estate agent and hired them to scope a sewer lateral pipe in Oakland. I asked the person I made the appointment with if I needed to be there and was told it was not necessary. I also specifically told them the address, as there are 2 identical locations in Oakland with the same name the difference being one ended in Ave. and one ended in St. Well you can probably guess the plumber went to the wrong address and once he got there discovered he could not get access the pipe from the street as it was behind a locked gate. No problem I reschedule and we took a few slates off the gate to get the equipment in and scoped the pipe. Took all of ten minutes. I was pleased with the plumber and his explanation of the problem with the old pipe. The scoping bill was to be paid in escrow for an additional fee, that was agreed to. The bill went to escrow and there was on top of the charge for the escaping a $175 additional charge for when the plumber went to the wrong address and could not access the pipe. I called the owner Pam, or rather emailed as she never answers her phone, and essentially she said the charge was valid and it would not be removed. I explained to her very commonly how I was told I did not need to be there and emphasized to the girl making the appointment that the address was Ave. and not St. She essentially said too bad and said if it was not paid a mechanics lien would be placed on the property. She further said it was all my fault as I should have known that the pipe was inaccessible and as the agent I should pay the $175 out of my commission. On top of everything their estimate for the repair work was exorbitant compared to several other plumbing companies the new owners contacted and ultimately used. Pipe cam and it's owner Pam by the far are the worst experience I have ever had in the real estate business. Her inability to even discuss a potential compromise to salvage future business still baffles me. I would strongly recommend that real estate professionals as well as the general public stay clear of this company. Jeffrey S. read more

I need to have sewer lines checked often for buyers/seller being that I am a Realtor. In the past BEFORE I used Pipe Cam, it always seemed that when I had a sewer line inspected they were ALWAYS in need of repairs. I was referred Pipe Cam by a fellow Realtor and have been so happy ever since. They ALWAYS give me the "straight scoop" and are always willing to walk my clients through the condition of the sewer line. I have had may clients really happy with how detailed Jim's inspections are and how honest he is too. Pam his wife is great too, she is always willing to take the time to explain what options a client might have when deal with sewer line repair. Both Jim and Pam are great professionals to work with and make my clients happy. Which in turn makes me happy. In fact, Pam went out of her way last week to find a plumber for a repair they don't do late in the day on a Friday. I look forward to using their services because I know I will be well cared for and always be given truth. They care more about their customers then their bottom line. This is how I run my real estate business and want to work with people like that too. Give them a try, you won't be sorry. read more

One day as I was showering I heard this noise coming from the toilet. Having recently read an ariticle about snakes coming up through toilets - I was freaked!! Proved to not be a snake, thank goodness just some awful tree roots in the pipes out front. Jim was prompt in diagnosing the problem and I was trouble free for about 9 months but then everything clogged back up. As there was a 1 year warranty, Jim cleared the blockage with no charge. About 18 months later we discovered that the pipes were not correctly sealed when my home was built and the roots were growing in that little space so we needed to fix the problem, not just clear out the roots. The solution became very complex, more than Jim had anticipated but he worked night and day until the job was completed. I couldn't have been happier with Jim and his service. Jim showed me exactly where the problem was with his video camera and explained what needed to be done to fix it..little did he know he'd be crawling under my house in the dark! I have been trouble free (at least with my plumbing problems) and would recommend Jim and his company to anyone that needed his assistance. read more
