Hire Lance Plumbing (Carlos) at your own risk. I hired Lance Plumbing to install a shower valve for a bathroom remodel. Initially Carlos was responsive. He was very happy to explain in detail what the job entailed. Carlos gave me a reasonable price and I hired this company to do the plumbing. I provided Carlos with the tile and the valve we needed him to install. Carlos measured and stated he understood the placement of the valve needed to be flush with the existing drywall. Carlos did his measurements installed the valve, piping and the work looked good. When the tile setter began to install the tile he confirmed the valve placement would have the valve protruding about an inch. I reached out to Carlos asking him to return to address the valve. Carlos immediately stated the tile setter was at fault. I tried to explain to Carlos that the tile is flush with the existing wall and the issue is the valve placement. I asked Carlos to come by and let's discuss in person to see if theres an easy fix vs the back in forth over the phone. Carlos told me he was too busy to come by and look at the issue. Carlos came over today from Lance plumbing. To be be frank, I was unsure because the moment I asked for a quote from several plumbing companies for my water heater that stopped working, I got some really high estimates. Same experience with my roof leak and other work. What I found most important in deciding who to go with was honesty and clear explanation of what works what was needed and why. And every time everything worked out, it came down to the character of the person which I'd like to say I can discern talking to people. The ones that are really friendly and try asking about your personal life - your kids and family and the weather/small talk, to make you try to trust them....fake. They're doing it to butter you up so you won't say no to their prices. If you're unsure, just ask yourself if the work justifies the cost and compare with others. I know I'm stating the obvious but don't get suckered. Carlos from Lance I can say with confidence is an honest and sincere guy. From quote to work, he's maintained integrity and workmanship I wish others would use as their standard. True to his explanations, there was more to what i could see. Yes, i tried youtubing that made DIY seem simple and i thought i could just replace the thermocouple or the burner myself but my unit was 15 yrs old and Carlos explained in detail why i needed to replace it. We all know things deteriorate over time and water heaters are no exception. Not only will things break down but during its course, it can adversely impact other parts of the house. Rust is one of them (see pics). I didn't know that there was so much rust in my water tank. I could only imagine it running through my house thru the pipes and faucets and into my family's digestive systems! Anyway, listen to what you're told and see if it makes sense. Lancellotti as a business might be new, but Carlos is very experienced and his work is fantastic! We just asked him install a dishwasher (from scratch, not just replacing). Our Rheem water heater stopped putting out hot water, and since it was under warranty, and was displaying an error light, we called the manufacturer. The manufacturer sent us the parts they said we needed. We called Carlos, based on these great reviews, to install the parts. He showed up the same day.
