They were a 20 minute wait and we were tired and opted to do takeout. I had a pulled pork sandwich with theVinegar-based barbecue sauce and a side of fried okra. That barbecue sandwich was probably the best and I mean best barbecue sandwich I ever had. Overall meh experience. Slow service. Brisket was chopped, greasy, and dry. Pork was the same. Rib was OK, seemed as if it was held in a steam table. Brunswick was a blender puree with shoepeg corn. Signature garlic salad was plain iceberg with a vinegar, salt, garlic dressing. The $15 combo is listed as including two ribs, but they only give you one. They explained this by saying if the ribs are too big, you only get one. Rip off. Rolls could break plate glass. read more

Can't recommend. Sadly the food is bland and not all the hype. I had the pulled pork sandwich on garlic bread. With or without sauce the pork had no flavor and neither did the garlic bread. French fries were greasy and soggy. Waffle sweet potatoe fries were nicely cooked, but also flavorless. My son had the burger and said it was ok, but he left dinner hungry despite eating the chips that come with the burger, all the waffle fries and half of my soggy fries. Not worth $30. I do love this place but I can't quite give it 5 stars. Fried Green Tomatoes - excellent batter and they know how to make it stick (which a lot of places do not). they could slice the tomatoes a little thicker but other than that they are excellent. Sides - every side we had was excellent especially the brunswick stew which is classic Georgia style stew. Sweet Potatoe fries and slaw are also excellent. BBQ Chicken had an excellent smoky taste and was tender and well cooked. Service is friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is entertaining and clean. So why not 5 stars - the chopped Pork BBQ. It was dry and had very little flavor. I had to drown it with (very good) BBQ Sauce to make it tolerable. One member of my party ordered the 3 sliders and only ate one. Terrible. The worst BBQ I have ever eaten.. It was a group of 6 of us all extremely hungry..Each of us had the pork platter or the pork sandwich.. I had the platter with mac n cheese and fries.. The pork was dry,tasteless and quite frankly bad.. The mac n cheese was the WORST I have EVER eaten..Seriously tasted like a bad version of krafts..NO WAY it was homemade..The fries were decent kind of soggy. Best BBQ in Cherry Log! Visited here on our most recent vacation to Blue Ridge. Fabulous service and super kitchy decor. The food was tasty but nothing compared to my favorite BBQ joints in Charleston. I ordered the pulled pork BBQ plate with sweet potato fries and green beans. It satisfied my BBQ craving but I wouldn't put it my top 5 favorite BBQ joints. Their house made vinegar sauce is perfect! Sweet, tangy, and spicy all in one! While looking for a restaurant on the way back from North Georgia, we stumbled upon this BBQ joint just off the highway. It has a cute entrance with lots of Pink Pig merchandise for sale. There is also an ice cream shop on one side and the restaurant seating area on the other. I got the BBQ pork plate with sweet potatoes and brunswick stew. The bbq tasted great with the bbq sauce and the portions were good. There is also a sweet vinegar sauce that my friends seemed to really enjoy. The sweet potatoes tasted great. I've had better brunswick stew. My friends really liked their rib plate and combo plate. Overall it was a nice choice for our hungry party. read more

I am sorry I have to give the place a 1-star but I couldn't find anything lower. The sad part is that this place has a great BBQ atmosphere its just too bad you can eat atmosphere becuase the food was bad..... I wanted to like it, I really did but I couldn't bring myself to like it a little bit. I had the ribs, pulled pork, beef combo and not of it was really worth eating. I didn't even finish the plate. The sauce was terrible also, it is hard to describe it, kind of like a gross sweet candy with some hots sauce mixed in. On top of being bad the food came out cold, I would say the pork was bland but that would be an insult to bland, there was absolutely not trace of a pink smoke to the pork or the beef for that matter. The two ribs you get on your plate practically had no meat on them and so small you could use the bones to pick what little meat was stuck in your teeth. I hate to steer people away from restaurants becuase everyone has their own taste but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Don't let the quaint cute BBQ look fool you the food is not good. To add to David B's comment I suppose if you had a WHOLE lot of beer and were really really hungry and didn't have any other options then I guess I would eat it but thats about it. I have been to the small establishment 5 times I do believe. They have some really great bbq, but then again so does most places in the north Georgia Mountains. Don't confuse this place with all the pig tombstones scattered around, most people think that place is the Pink Pig, it is not. I have only had pulled pork and beef here. I like the sauce they use, like other reviewers have mentioned on here it is a bit vinegary. One reviewer gave this place a 1 star review, it must have been extra bad or he had it in for this place because I can't imagine being that terrible. This is the chopped chicken plate. My husband and I came here by recommendation from a local. The chicken was cold and dry... Beans were super hot... Mac and cheese was cold... Diet coke had too much carbonation and I asked for tea instead. She said something about the carbonation being off only on diet coke for a few weeks now and apologized. Veggies/sides: I grew up with flour-dredged fried okra; theirs is cornmeal breaded. It was good, and I understand that's the way they do it up here, but it seemed to have sat out a while, because it was just lukewarm. Same with the Mac-n-Cheese. And don't come if you like a nice, cold beer with your BBQ, because they don't serve beer. My dining mate liked his pulled pork and baked beans, but he likewise thought the brisket was not ideal. I love my hometown BBQ places. I have been going here over the years, to watch it grow, and enjoy the same delicious food. I'll get right into the recommendation, which may make you raise your eyebrow higher than the Rock does: When you go to the Pink Pig, you have to try a garlic salad. Now, I know what you're thinking. Who in the world gets a SALAD at a BBQ restaurant?! While I'd normally agree, since my go-to indulgence at BBQ joints is pulled pork, mac n cheese, cornbread, collard greens, all washed down with sweet tea--I'd have to tell you, this is the best dressing you'll get at most places. It's addictive. The BBQ itself is pedestrian at best, but the sauce is great (I'm a really wet BBQ eater), and the slaw is good as well. Sweet tea here is perfectly made, which is essential to a good visit to a 'cue place. One thing to avoid: potato salad. I've just never been impressed with their Tater Salad here. It's a hole in the wall restaurant on the side of the road in North Georgia and its so tasty, though I wouldn't recommend the brisket. It was pretty dry and chewy. The pulled pork was not as juicy as it should have been, but the jalapeño poppers were decent. They didn't offer a variety of sauces either to spice up the meat that was lacking in flavor. It's a good spot if you're looking for something quick, but not if you're wanting the best BBQ around. I remember my last visit over a year ago being a lot more positive. I love eating at The Pink Pig! The negative reviews are surprising to me ,who is very picky about her bar b que! I love the brisket the most with lots of burnt ends in it. I do get the pork too and I like it because it is very lean. I do admit they could come up with a better sauce overall. They have two on the table, one sweet and the other is vinegar based. If you ask they will bring you a spicy sauce which is better to me. The flavor of the brisket is very good. I enjoy the green and bar b que beans and onion rings a lot. I am not sure what to say about the fried green tomatoes. I have got them here a few times and they have been very good but last week I ate here and found them thin and greasy. Not to my liking. The cobblers are home made and the kids and my dad love it. The decor is cute with pigs all over. My daughter wears her new pink pig shirt with pride and a bigger belly. This place has been here since 1967 so they must be doing something right! All the waitresses will bend over backwards to make your meal enjoyable. Oh and the garlic salad is great! Very tangy and full of garlic. Not anything huge or fancy, just a bowl of iceberg lettuce, onions and carrots with great dressing. Nothing more is needed in my opinion. Someone at the apple orchard recommended that we drive out-of-the-way for the pink pig and it's macaroni and cheese. Being that we were in the middle of nowhere you would think one would know about country cooking. That certainly was not the case with the macaroni and cheese at the pink pig. The garlic salad was the star of an average meal. The pulled pork was dry and uneventful. And finally the macaroni and cheese was as bland as if they bought it from KFC themselves. Of course I had the Chopped Pork Plate with Brunswick Stew and Mac n Cheese. Like I said, the pork is chopped ,not pulled. It has a nice smoked flavor and just the right moistness. They have 2 sauces: vinegar and sweet . The vinegar is a little thick, I would like to have a little more "bite",but still acceptable. The sweet is just that, sweet. The Brunswick Stew is a traditional style that's puréed with pork sausage added and a few chucks of white corn. You gotta try the blackberry cobbler ala mode... AWESOME!! read more

I wish I had our waitre' name so I could include it here, but she was super nice and made us all feel at home. The restaurant is small and the atmosphere is warm and very local. I think we were probably the only out-of-towners there. The pork sandwich was excellent and so were my side of sweet potato fries. They have two types of BBQ sauce (vinegar based sauce and a sweet BBQ sauce- both were really good, and not too vinegary as I saw in other reviews) in squeeze bottles at the table so you can try them both, and use a little or a lot. My husband and I decided to give this place a try after hearing rave reviews. He ordered a combination plate of smoked brisket and pulled pork. He felt the brisket was a little dry but did have good flavor. The pork also had good flavor. He ordered a side of Brunswick stew. It was good! I ordered the pulled pork plate. The meat was not as flavorful as I've had at other BBQ restaurants. I ordered a side of their potatoes (can't remember exact name), but they were delicious! I also got cole slaw. It was definitely homemade and fresh. But for my taste, I would have preferred it a little creamier. In comparison to other BBQ establishments, this was not my favorite or the best. However, it also was not the worst. Overall, the food was good. Portion sizes were smaller than what we've had at most other places. The service was good. Prices were a little on the higher side. Clean establishment. Would probably eat there again if in the area but wouldn't make a special trip for it. read more

This was a nice bbq stop on the way home to atl from blue ridge. The garlic salad WAS really good. The kids all got the bbq sliders which were a Little small imo, my 3 kids had it down within minutes and had a ton of fries, which they said were too dry to eat, I wish there had been a vegetable substitute like green or baked beans, my kids would have gone for those more. Tried this place while on vacation in Blue Ridge Georgia - it's off the beaten path and is rustic but nice inside - the service was good but the food was just average - I liked the garlic salad which is a house specialty but the BBQ was honestly no better than what you'd get at your local Sonny's BBQ and lacked that really smoked taste - I had the pulled pork and brisket plate - the hand cut fries were really good however- we ordered peanut butter pie for dessert- it was good but a very small piece.
