Last time, we tried Pinecrest Bakery at the Kendall location and really enjoyed it. This time, we wanted to try the location right next to our house, so we decided to pick up a few things to take home. We got a little bit of everything--some savory empanadas and a few desserts. We tried the Ham, Cheese & Chorizo Empanada, Ropa Vieja Empanada, and a slice of Empanada Gallega. For dessert, we got Cuatro Leches, Crème Catalana, and Tres Leches. Everything was really good, but my personal favorite was definitely the Crème Catalana. It was smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced--not too sweet, which I really liked. The service was great too. Even though there was a line, the staff kept things moving quickly and efficiently. Honestly, I feel this location deserves a better rating and more stars. Updating since I received a response: There was no inappropriate language. Please review your cameras. Clearly, whoever said there was inappropriate language can't own up to what happened. Also, I understand mistakes happen, but in the food industry you have to be very careful making mistakes because if there was any food allergy, and the person consuming that item didn't catch it, it could be a serious issue not just for the consumer, but also for the business. If I could leave a zero, I would. This place is a disappointment and the people working there are not friendly at all. We went up to the counter to order, and the blond lady was talking to some guy. I don't think he was a customer there, so she wasn't really paying attention to us. We did get to place our order with the other girl and ended up sitting down. My moms order came out, and hers was fine, but when she enquired about our drinks, it seems they had forgotten about the drinks so they started making it. Up to that point everything was okay. I had ordered a Caesar salad sandwich. What I was expecting was what was on the menu - tomatoes, lettuce, onions, Caesar salad dressing and chicken (sure Caesar salad doesn't have tomato's and onions, but I didn't mind if it had them). As soon as I get my sandwich I start inspecting it because it looks nothing like what I thought it would. I had to look at the menu again because mine came with small potato sticks which I did not want on my sandwich. I was trying not to complain about it and just take it off, but the sandwich didn't even have Caesar salad dressing. So I go up to the counter to request some sauce to put on top. The new girl enquires with the blond chick, who just seems annoyed that we interrupted her conversation. I get that they work long hours, but if you don't like people or can't even fake it with a smile, you really shouldn't work in anything with customer service especially if it's giving the company negative reviews. Just look at how many people have complained about the customer service. I'm not alone here! Anyways, I just ended up taking whatever other sauce they gave me which wasn't Caesar sauce. I told them they should have told me in advance if they didn't have Caesar dressing. The blonde chick was definitely annoyed now by the way she was looking at me. I didn't want to get into it with them so I go back and just try to make the sandwich better with the sauce they gave me. Anyway my mom went up to get a to go box, and of course blonde lady once again was being rude. Then she wanted to say that we have no idea what it's like to work in that industry...how does she know? Has she seen our resumes?? We were nothing but nice and the moment we pointed issues out, she wanted to make it seem like we were the problem. We ended up leaving, but we're not going back. If anything this trip has reminded me once again why I hate Miami because people just seem to be overly stressed and rude! read more

Wow! Sorriest, saddest Pan con bistec & customer service I've EVER experienced in my entire life! From the minute we walked in into a completely empty bakery we were "greeted" with the death stare & the side eyes. After ordering a pan con bistec, chicken sandwich & an empanada I was told anything fried would take around 45 mins. I cancelled the empanada & waited on a reply if the sandwiches were available. My friend and I ordered sandwiches and the things we asked for on it, were what we DIDN'T get, and what we asked to not include, we got. I ordered a pan con bistec with lettuce, onion, and the tiny fries that comes on the sandwich usually, no tomato. Also a drink. The food arrives almost an hour later, I get a pan con bistec with NOTHING ON IT except tomato. I'm allergic to tomato. I had to throw the whole thing out. They also didn't give me my drink. I went to this Pinecrest location because I really, really loved the another one​ we tried, so I decided to take my daughter for lunch in here. The lady who took care of us, helped me get my order ready and she asked me how I wanted my sandwich in case I had some requests. This place has tables and chairs inside, when we went they were dirty, but as soon as we sat down, a lady came and started cleaning all of the tables. I didn't like the baked empanada we had. It was dry and with no flavor. But I loved the sandwich of Media Noche (a Cuban Sandwich). Delicious semi sweet bread, filled with ham, cheese, pickles, mayo and mustard. Horrible - I can't even rate them! Went over the weekend, purchase toasted bread, colada, croquetas - pastries - upon check out - I gave a cash tip in the jar. When using my credit card - it ask for tip. I said no tip - press F green button (what the lady over the counter told me to do). WELL I was charge an additional $7.42 in tip. Love this place! Pinecrest is my number one bakery to go to for cakes! They have good service and fresh products. Our family favorite is the dulce de leche and almonds cake. The gentleman that rang me up charged me extra by $6 dollars I questioned why and she came into the situation. She told me she couldn't delete it and that the best she can do is give me 20% off. Not sure why or what made her think that 20% would equal the missing amount that she was charging. This is by far the worst location with poor customer service and lack of respect and consideration for their customers. Night staff of two ladies treated me terrible with sarcastic attitudes making unnecessary comments and refusing to give me their names after they wouldn't help me with an order I placed that was delivered to me wrong and half the order was missing. The lady also refused to credit me for the missing items which she confirmed were left back accidentally. She also refused calling the manager or sending me the food I paid for which she didn't stick in the bag for delivery. They are scammers, management should monitor / record their phone calls with customers so they can address these types of issues and implement RESPECT for their customers. I love all the things from pinecrest bakery! Especially all the pastelitos, tostadas, croquetas, pineapple juice and of course their cafe con leches/Cuban coffees! But the service at this location kinda sucks! The girls that are there aren't so friendly, maybe just with the older Cuban men that go in there. I've seen them just be so friendly and smile at them and when they help me I don't feel that same attention. Maybe not all of the girls are like that but majority of the time it is. Plus I've had time where I order things and it comes out wrong or where they aren't paying attention to how I'm making my order and last I was here the girl was already skipping me to help another guy. This bakery is conveniently open 24h a day, and has great food as well as pastries and custom cakes. Their pan con bistec is delicious, which is a large portion size very filling. They also have really great smoothies I always get their mamey smoothie, highly recommend it. This bakery also has FRESH SQUEEZED orange juice. There is a machine that you put half sliced oranges into and it will squeeze the juice out right in front of your eyes. Definitely a great spot for lunch or a snack. read more

Their breakfast specials are a great deal. You can't beat the price for everything you get and the food is pretty good. Toast, eggs (made to your liking), fries, your choice of ham or bacon, and cafe con leche. They were specific about the order, to make sure they got my cafe con leche and eggs exactly to my liking. I love their Cuban toast, sounds stupid... but they actually toast it! You'll walk into a lot of bakeries asking for a Cuban toast and get warmed up bread with barely melted butter. Nothing annoys me more. So, a good Cuban toast earns a lot of points with me. On the other hand, their meat empanadas are terrible... I understand they're fried, but there's no reason it should be orange. Even the actual meat in it is not good at all. I was surprised by their cheese pastelito, it's exactly what you want... layers of puff pastry filled with plenty of cream cheese!
