If you are staying in the area Pike Grocery is super convenient. I was surprised with how much they carry. We got a couple of sandwiches and they where great! The where really big! Price wise was a bit high but honestly it's what I would expect to pay right down town.

Only grocery store that was open late when we came (11pm). There were a lot of people trying to buy last minutes items. They have a variety of items. It's a mix between a liquor store and a small grocery store. The wine selection for a small place was pretty good. Same goes for the beers and non alcoholic liquids. They don't have the gallon waters though but liter waters they have. There's also a sandwich shop, not sure what time they open but it was close when we came later in the night. Small mom and pop place but has the necessities.

The deli sandwiches advertised, they no longer sale. The sandwich menu is now covered up by wax paper. This was an issue for me because I took public transportation in a city that I was not familiar to visit their "deli". Highly suggest that you update the information on goods/services you provide.

Love this place. It's my neighborhood Mom 'n Pop. They carry an assortment of chips, cereal, healthy foods, cheese, deli meat, and basic necessary goods. Honestly, it's remarkable how much they can fit into this one small space. It's owned by a lovely Korean couple. The woman, Jane, is a sweetheart. She always cheerfully takes your order and treats you with kindness. Her husband, Mike, is a bit more reserved and stoic, but he opens up more as you visit more. Anyways, the sandwiches are usually made by Jane, and they are delicious and filling. You place an order and in about 10 min or less, it's ready to go. I got the Seattle Slew sandwich today, and it was legit so yummy and huge. It's got ham, salami, mortadella, provolone, pepperoncini, red onion, lettuce, tomato, olive oil, red wine vinegar, and mayo. If you're feeling hungry, any one of their sandwiches will fill you up for hours. Usually half of one is enough for me though. As for the people who've said negative things about their customer service, they clearly have an overinflated "the customer is always right" mentality. I've been going here for the past year, and I've received nothing but good service. I think that some customers unrealistically expect service people to kiss their asses, rather than simply render a service. Reservedness and stoicism is not a marker of bad service... So please check your entitlement at the door.

    The sandwiches have been renamed!

This is a fantastic little market. During lunchtime, call ahead and order a sandwich to pick up. You will not be disappointed!! This is a hidden gem for sandwiches in the city!

I'm so happy that Pike Grocery is open!!!! (It's not called Pike Place Grocery, dunno who came up with that when they listed this business.) Comfortably nested on the border between Capitol Hill and downtown, I'm in the midst of everything and yet have had slim pickin's as far as grocery stores near my place (QFC is "near" if you're not drunk/exhausted/lazy, and Clay's is a poor excuse for a grocery). So, I was super excited when this place started being built, because I'd finally be able to make quick club soda/wine/ketchup runs. Little did I know, you can get all that and a bag of chips! So to speak. This ain't your grandma's convenience store - they have: - Boarshead deli meat (yessss.... Blazin' Buffalo Chicken and Black Forest Ham!) - Odwalla - organic milk!! When's the last time you saw that in a convenience store?? Try never. - pasta - organic canned tomatoes - fresh produce that looked pretty good (no City Market wilted greens here!) - Flagship cheese from Beecher's - lots of Amy's frozen meals - boozes, including I think 4 varieties of hard cider Yummmm thank you for not sucking and in fact being surprisingly delicious and nutritious!!

No longer does sandwiches. Menu board is covered over and the cashier says they have a new owner so no more sandwiches.

Great beer and wine selection. The Boars Head sandwiches were a great deal! The couple working the deli and register were efficient.

Bonus: this spot is kosher! Potato Latkes (5/5): These latkes are thick boys and fried up so they're piping hot when they hit the table. Because of their size, you really get the contrast of the hard crunch on the outside with super fluffy potato inside. So good we immediately turned around and ordered more. Chocolate Babka (2/5): This was truly the only miss I've had here. Unfortunately, the babka just really dries out after it's been sliced, which is a shame because it's just gorgeous with generous swirls of chocolate inside. Reuben (5/5): I really thought their pastrami couldn't be beat, but the brisket is dare I say better? Just as tender and feels a bit less fatty, so it's a little more crushable. Tip: go for the seeded rye over the marbled rye; something about the marbled rye just falls apart a bit more with the juices of the meat, though it's still delicious! Black & White Cookies (4/5): I expected this to be cloyingly sweet, but this was actually scrumptious with some fresh lemon flavor in the cookie itself. Absolutely massive as well.

Do you happen to live in Washington and miss said pastrami sando? My friend, I have good news for you. Dingfelder's pastrami is a dead ringer for that sandwich: huge slices of melt-in-your-mouth pastrami, regular and half sour pickles, and all the other accoutrements you'd expect from a legit Jewish deli. This place doesn't screw around. If you want a great, hearty, flavor-packed sandwich, this is one of the best places to throw your money. But, as others have pointed out, it's no cheap date: expect to pay over $20 for one of those mighty pastrami sandwiches. This isn't Subway so you're not saving money by eating here, but after one bite of their pastrami you'll understand why you're paying so much. Quality isn't cheap. I'd say this place is tied with Tat's Deli for the best sandwiches in Seattle.

I'd heard they were good, but holy smokes, I didn't realize they would be *that* good. Here are my recommendations: - Get the Tatstrami. Its combination of flavors is so freaking good. - Order online and then sweep in and pick it up. Since the place does most of its business during lunchtime, there's always a line and this is a way to skip that. If you want to venture beyond a pastrami sandwich, I highly recommend the chicken cheesesteak. While I normally opt for beef when it comes to cheesesteaks, Tat's actually isn't amazing but their chicken one is. So get that instead. In short, this is tied with Dingfelders for the best sandwich in Seattle. Pay it a visit and bring your appetite.
