Stopped by the speakeasy Pigtails for a round of drinks after dinner. You walk through the restaurant Coabana to look for the door under the "cocktail" sign. It's lively with an intimate, dim lighting. My party of 6 surprisingly was able to get the big table in the back without waiting much. They have some movie and song name inspired cocktails as well as other drink options. My Panic At The Disco was pretty decent with its fruity flavors which paired nicely with the herbacious gin. The Prickly Behavior was very mezcal forward and wish there was more pear or citrus flavors. Our friend's Takes Two To Mango was like a mango milkshake. Staff were attentive and checked in often. Drinks were fine but overall nothing impressive or note worthy for me.

Martini, perfectly made

What!? Super chill, "hidden" bar with a great back room speakeasy vibe. The drinks were great but the bartenders were better: thanks Jack and Jackie. Great cocktails and service!

Pigtails is a super cute and cozy speakeasy hidden within The Whining Pig. Both servers were warm, welcoming and each assisted me and my husband with selecting drinks that were absolutely delicious and perfect for us! Great quality craft cocktails, awesome atmosphere and excellent service...we will definitely be back!

After a comedy show at Stand Up Live, hubby & I went to Pigtails for a night cap. The speakeasy has a hidden entrance inside of Coabana. There are no reservations here, but we were able to grab a booth pretty quick. The drinks were nice & boozy, and they have a nice whiskey collection. I didn't have any food, but they offer lite bites. They open late, so this is a good option for a night cap downtown.

After seeing The Format at the AZ State Fair, one of my friends said let's grab a drink. We hitched a ride to Downtown and after some misses due to long lines and no availability, we ended up at Pigtails. We found two seats at the bar and got a couple fun, inventive cocktails. I asked the bartender for her favorite drink and she said the "Black Magic Woman" which was a blackberry infused bourbon cocktail. It was great, and for my second drink I asked her the most unique drink on the menu and she said "Down The Rabbit Hole" which was tequila based and had carrot among other things and cream cheese foam. Who knew that was a thing? Also delicious. My friend and I were going to have one more cocktail but we decided to check out another bar simply for variety. But definitely a rad spot and I'd happily come back.

Such a great speakeasy vibe. The atmosphere is super cool--moody lighting, great music, and a space that feels tucked away in the best way. Their happy hour tacos are so good, definitely one of the highlights. And I'm obsessed with the plant wall... it adds this fresh, stylish touch that makes the whole place feel even more inviting. A perfect spot to hang out, sip, and snack.

Perfect date night spot! The ambiance was beautiful and created such a intimate, romantic atmosphere. The music was just right--not too loud--so we could actually enjoy a conversation without having to talk over it. Great vibes, friendly staff. We'll definitely be back! Drinks we ordered were tequila based: PAINT THE TOWN RED (strawberry infused) & DEATH BECOMES HER (cucumber infused) Both were delicious

Was going to check out Coabana for drinks, and we saw a group go through a side door into Pigtails, a speakeasy bar. No reservations were needed and you could simply walk in. We were greeted by welcoming staff and ordered an Insomnia and a Black Magic Woman, which did not disappoint. We just stopped in for drinks before a show. Service was quick and attentive to getting us food or drinks. Cute bar and a great place to hang out if you are in the area.

Such a beautiful atmosphere, ambient lighting and such lively plants on the walks. The full bar with bottles on display looked like a library of liquor. The bartender Karly, was radiant, kind, and very great at suggesting my boyfriend I in the right direction of flavor to savor. She suggested the Rose glasses for me and Son Of a Peach for him as he's a whiskey drinker The drinks were more delicious than described on the menu I feel because Karly was so good at her mixology. She was very fast at creating the cocktails and very friendly. This was a perfect date night experience and I'd highly recommend it.

Signature cocktail: Son of a Peach, with Cubano Sammie

First of all I cannot understate the quality of the service I received. Eulalio had other tables, but we consistently got our drinks and food quickly without errors, even when they were on the complicated side. He is a true boon to the business! The restaurant itself is hidden inside another called Coabana, but there is a door clearly labeled Cocktails to get to it. Through the door the hustle and bustle of the busy restaurant outside gives way to a cocktail bar that feels much more intimate, with dark lighting and quieter music than is playing outside. It was perfect to converse and enjoy drinks with friends! This time we went with some friends, and each of us could not stop talking about how good everything was! We started with In To The Blue shots for the table, which were so good we wished we had sipped them. Then we ordered our first round of drinks and food. We shared a plate of nachos and they had the perfect balance of toppings and chips, then my partner and I ordered some tacos and a Cubano Sammie. The sandwich was delicious, much better than the average Cubano I've come across in Phoenix. The tacos were also great, and $11 for 3 was a steal! Our friends also got tacos, which they enjoyed. My partner ordered Cupid's Dagger and the Insomniac to drink, and she loved both of them! Cupid's Dagger was also served with a bubble of smoke and it was on a little silver tray, which was cool. I ordered the Son of a Peach and Femme Fatale, and they were both delicious. The Femme Fatale was also served inside of a wooden cake tray filled with smoke, which was a very cool experience and added to the flavor of the drink. All in all this is not just a restaurant, but an experience. And if you have some money to go out in downtown Phoenix, I would say this experience is not one to miss! If you can, try to get a table with Eulalio because he is excellent!

Excellent vibes

The service was phenomenal and they make great drinks. Good place to stop in for cocktails and good company.

Oysters

Overall a great experience! Came here the other night to grab a little bite and some drinks. The oysters were really good and the nachos were fantastic. The nachos had some beautifully charred pork on top with this delicious chimichurri sauce. I decided to be adventurous and try the mystery punch, which wasn't too bad either. Only negative was the service could have been better. The place was not very busy but our server was never around. We ordered some food but when the oysters came out we still had no plates or silverware, which took awhile for someone to bring.

This is very cool joint with a dark feel too it. They have a basement bar which we ventured into and they also have an upstairs bar as well, so you can fit a lot of drunk People in there. It also features a lot of great art that fits really highlights the Mexican bar vibe. The waitress/bar tender/ agave expert was very welcoming and know a lot about their tequilas and mescal option. I love me some smokey mescal, I dont remember thet name of the drink but it had some kind of elote triple sec or something like that along with Mescal and it was quite tasty. Trust me I was in no state to remember ingredients but this is from my foggy memory. I also got a pick of the cool ice blocks that has an Agave inlay that they put in the tumbler with your drink. I will definitely be going back for their wide Mescal and tequila options. I didn't see food in the bar, but they have a food truck out front that smelled amazing, but sometimes I simply dont want to eat when there are plenty of drinks to be had. They do have Esquites, Tacos, Quesadillas, Mini Chimis, and loaded fries. I will have to do another review on the food when I am not out being a borracho. They do take reservations and host private parties which would make for one raucous Christmas party if you don't work at a Christ loving conservative company like me. You can also order bottles of mescal and pick it up on location which is pretty awesome as especially after trying out the selection. Happy hour is every weekday that they are open to try out some of their cocktails. This is a great option to impress your tinder date if you are a lush like me pr want to show of your sophisticated drinker side.

I was immediately drawn to their craft cocktails and the focaccia with whipped ricotta captured my heart. I'm a huge savory cocktail girl and they had multiple options. The vibe is great too, dimly lit with vibey house music and the bartenders and servers are all super chill and friendly. Effortlessly cool without being too snooty. I'm a big fan of their food too, my top faves were the Caesar salad, watermelon salad, vodka pasta & cookie skillet, besides my beloved bread of course. The girl dinner is truly such a steal so if you go on a Tues night, don't skip it! It comes with a martini, caviar chip, Caesar salad & vodka pasta. Located in Downtown Phoenix, the parking situation is a little hairy. There is paid parking nearby,…read morebut it definitely is better to come a little earlier to scope out the parking situation and get that sorted before your reservation. My party and I had a reservation on a Saturday night at 9pm (when it's 13 people, what can you do). What kind of sucked though (and mainly why I'm deducting a star) is that we did wait an additional half hour to be seated after our reservation time. Our theory is that they didn't think the entire party would actually arrive, and they were not ready to accommodate us. To be fair, the restaurant IS on the smaller side, but there was 0 communication during that half hour on what was going on... which isn't really good for us either. We got the original set, and this somewhat confused me as well. The food was really good, and was definitely a restaurant that I'd go to for the experience, but for some reason some of the meats were doubled while others weren't. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.

The reservation fee is $25 per person. Keep in mind that this is not simply a reservation deposit like most places. You are actually paying $25 and in exchange you get a boarding pass, a welcome cocktail, a set of wings (this is a really nice quality pin, not the cheesy plastic wings they give the kids on Southwest), spicy nuts, and a sweet treat. When you arrive, you pick up your "boarding pass" at Wren and Wolf around the corner. This flight was going to Tokyo. There is a red-rope line that you wait in until your "flight" boards. At your reservation time, the "Captain" opens the door and a "flight attendant" takes you to your seat. Actually, they call them stewardesses because it's supposed to be 70's themed. The inside is kind of amazing. It's airline themed without being too literal. We have visited another airline themed cocktail lounge in Palm springs which literally had real airline seats. This is not that. It has a lot of beautiful shiny wood and great lighting and it's just generally a gorgeous space. There is a bar at the back. Throughout your 90-minute experience, there is a captain on the overhead letting you know what will happen next. They start by bringing you a welcome cocktail and a bowl of spicy nuts. Love the nuts, did not like the cocktail at all. I just poured mine into my husband's glass and he finished it. They come around next to take your cocktail order. My husband ordered a melon sour, and I ordered a chocolate martini. I'm sad to say I did not like this cocktail either, although I did finish this one. Hubby thought his was fine. After that round of cocktails the flight attendant and Captain come around with the cart to take Martini orders. It looked like less than half of the people ordered a martini. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, and so the two cocktails we already had were plenty and we did not order martinis. Then the flight attendant comes around with a plate of black and white cookies. They were so good - - they tasted homemade. This was really just fun. While I didn't love the cocktails, I did love the cookies and the spicy nuts and the whole experience and I really recommend it.
