I was here with a group a while ago after a long walk that ended in Greenpoint. There were plenty of people inside during lunch, and our relatively large group was seated in their other room next door, which had some larger tables. It was bright and sunny, so the area was a tad hot, but we made do with a bunch of us, including me, getting a beer or soda to deal with the heat. The service was friendly and helpful with those who weren't sure what they wanted, I went with a special, which is only available from Friday to Sunday during the summer. This was the Harvest Grill Bowl, which came with six pan-fried pierogi of my choice served with grilled Polish kielbasa, roasted yellow/green squash, roasted corn, red pepper, caramelized onion, garlic, and rosemary. The price, which ranged from $16 to $20, depended on which pierogi were used, with the meat ones being more. I asked if I could do half and half like on the regular menu, and that was fine, so it was $18, I believe. My first choice was the recommended Pierogi Tatarskie along with the Sauerkraut and Mushroom. The former was filled with potatoes, eggs, dill, and scallions and garnished with sizzling bacon, while the latter was filled with sauerkraut & mushroom and topped with caramelized onions. Both of them were tasty with a good texture, and I had a slight preference towards the latter pieróg, which was earthy but also tasted meaty, as is pretty typical for the mix. The former was good, though I do wish there was a stronger dill and scallion flavor. Outside of the pierogi, the kielbasa added some smokiness, while the rest added some sweetness, earthiness, and other flavors. I liked the addition of the pickle in there for an extra flavor. Overall, it was very filling and delicious, and I would highly recommend it. Not much else to say here. Good spot, at least from what I tried. Would recommend the bowl, and others enjoyed their meals as well.
This is a cute spot, highly recommend the patio out back, there's way more seating back there. Was very interested to try a Michelin star Polosh restaurant. I'd say it lives up to the hype, but not the absolute best I've ever had. The kielbasa was smoky and delicious, also enjoyed all of the pierogi we tried (which was nearly all options). I'd say the fruit pierogi (strawberry and blueberry) were the weakest. Pretty plain, but I wasn't expecting anything crazy. The golabki with mushroom gravy had me envious, it was REALLY good and an interesting departure from the typical tomato sauce you typically get. The Bloody Mary was solid; love that it comes with a pierogi speared on. We really enjoyed the crepe to finish off the meal. Just a solid crepe, nothing super unique going on. Definitely a great option if you're looking to try solid Polish food, I can see why it's so highly regarded.
Two words. The best! Homemade pierogis, everything is from scratch, tastes like you're eating at you Polish friend's house. Make reservations.
Yummy yummy meal. We got the Meat Pierogi & Tatarskie Pierogi, Golabki (Stuffed Cabbage) / Meat & Rice, and Kielbasa Dish w/ Murray's Cheese Pierogi. The pierogis were my favorite. Food was ready slower than anticipated but wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. Inside was cute. I liked seeing the kitchen. I'll definitely be back to try more Pierogis.
Nice, narrow space with backyard outdoor seating, with delicious Polish fare. Portions are on the small side, with Michelin guide prices.
I can confidently say these are the best pierogies I've ever had! They are the most flavorful ones, and the wrapper is tender and not too thick and heavy. The potato and cheese one blew me away. For something so simple and traditional, it was executed so well and packed so much flavor! I also really liked the Murray cheese one, especially the crispy bacon pieces that come with it. I ordered takeaway, but the service was very fast and friendly, and I could tell the ambiance inside the restaurant was nice for those dining inside. I highly recommend giving this place a shot!
In a city with so much good food, it's a true testament to Pierozek that I keep coming back! These really are the best pierogis I've ever had. This time, we got the murray's cheese, tatarskie, and pizza pierogis, finished off with the raspberry and sweet cheese pierogi as dessert. Four orders was definitely a lot for two people, but we loved everything! I had never had the pizza pierogis before, and they were definitely a standout. Loved the hot honey drizzle!! I haven't been for happy hour, but the deal looks great!! $3 shots and 2-for-1 beer and wine.
Pierozek had been on my to-try list forever and I'm so glad I finally got to visit. It's warm and homey, with European-style cafe vibes, which I loved. I ordered the a combo of the pork shoulder and Murray's cheese (cheddar/bacon/potato). It's great that you can order a combo. Both were delicious, but I particularly loved the Murray's cheese. So much so that I got a second order, which was shocking for me. The pierogi are that good here. I was a bit rushed during this visit, but would love to return when I am not so rushed and with better company so that I can relax and enjoy the experience more.
Eating here was such a delightful experience-from the friendly staff to cute decor. Outside of that, the food was just phenomenal. We had some authentic, homemade potato and cheese ($14) and jalapeño ($15) pierogis which were great. Served with sour cream and onion and garlic dill sauce, these pierogis were perfect and we had to order more. Paired with a big glass of Zywiec, this was such a hearty meal.
The pierogies here were so good! Highly recommend the potato & cheese one. The pierogi tatarskie was pretty good, but not as good as a potato & cheese one in my opinion. Service is very quick. They have a good amount of seating inside with two separate rooms and outdoor seating in the back.
I was in the neighborhood and decided to try Pierozek. For a Saturday night, the wait wasn't bad at all. Once inside, I was surprised by how much space the restaurant had and it looks so different from the outside. They're known for their authentic handmade pierogies. I ordered the summer grill bowl mix which is only served on weekends. It comes with six pan fried pierogies of your choice, grilled kielbasa, roasted yellow and green squash, red bell peppers, caramelized onions, garlic, rosemary, and roasted corn. I went with three meat and three potato and cheese. I also tried the Murray's cheese as a separate order. Definitely worth it. They had run out of the Paulie Gees's Pizza Pierogies combo so have to come back for that. For dessert, I had the homemade waffles topped with mixed berries and homemade whipped cream. Everything was delicious. I would go back again.
Pierogis - such a staple in Polish / Ukrainian cuisine. If you don't know what they are, I hope you at least heard about them peripherally in Gossip Girl when Dan Humphrey and Vanessa Abrams frequently mention eating pierogis together. There's really a few key options for great pierogis in NYC: Pierozek, Karczma, Veselka, and Streecha. I rank the pierogis in that order exactly - with Pierozek being truly the best of the spread, and also with Michelin designation for a few year running - consecutively! The prices are very reasonable (not common in NYC restaurant scenes), and it truly feels like authentic home-cooking and comfort food. From the savory pierogis, beef stew (cabbage mix), and the croquette, it was all perfectly cooked. Tons of flavors, wonderful textures, and great service. I DoorDash from this place often, but the restaurant is also super cozy with a great ambiance! A true Greenpoint favorite and staple - I'm a frequent customer who will come time and time again.
Today was a cold rainy day in Brooklyn - a perfect day to try pierogis and borscht for the first time! I was absolutely blown away by the flavors, colors, and textures here. I ordered the borscht & mushroom pierogi combo as well as the tatarskie & mushroom sauerkraut pierogis. Everything tasted incredible especially with sour cream on top. The restaurant feels like a cozy little shop. This was my favorite meal from my trip to NYC!
This spot was absolutely amazing & definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Greenpoint. As I was walking by, I noticed it had held a Michelin rating since 2022, so I was curious to see what the hype was about--especially since it wasn't as busy as other places at that time. We walked in and were seated right away. We started with some beer and ordered the potato & cheese pierogi, Murray's cheese pierogi, tartarskie pierogi, and kaszanka pierogi. Every single one was incredibly delicious and it tasted like a home-made meal. I could see the lady making the pierogis from the window, so it was really cool to see it being made! I'd definitely recommend this place for the pierogi, but I'm excited to come back and try more of the menu! read more
Delicious pierogis! The wrapper of the pierogis were so bouncy and perfectly thin. These were amazing and probably some of the best pierogis I have had. The stuffed cabbage was ok but I would recommend just filling up on pierogis. The restaurant is quaint and fills up quickly. Service is a bit slow but nothing to complain about. Would definitely go back to try more of their pierogis. read more
My friend treated me for my birthday (2/19)!!Everything was awesome! Our waiter was very kind! I received a raspberry birthday shot! So good! We sat in the second section after the stairs. It's cozy and comfy inside. The food is delicious! we ate there, celebrated and took some more pierogis home! I loved it! read more
I've only tried some of the pierogis and leftover stuffed cabbage here so can only speak to those dishes, but really loved everything I've had so far. The first time we tried Pierozek was when a couple of friends over-ordered at the restaurant and brought us their leftovers. Even after microwaving the pierogis and stuffed cabbage a day or two after their meal, I was genuinely impressed and knew we had to one day check out the restaurant IRL. Fast forward to last night - we were finally able to do so, and ordered the sauerkraut, meat and Paulie Gee's pierogis. They were all just as amazing as expected, especially with the sour cream on top. Paulie Gee's was definitely on the salty side but still worth the try - fun and tasty collab like a gourmet totino's pizza roll. The space gives homey Polish vibes and I would definitely return to try more of the menu. read more
This was a easy five star review. We went on a busy Saturday night and there was a bit of a wait. However, we were consistently checked in on and told they were working to get us seated asap. So that was really solid. The food is outstanding. These are the best pierogi you will find in Brooklyn...maybe NYC. The dough is the right thickness, the fillings were ample. The service was solid. The restaurant itself is very cute! All of the plates are very ornate and colorful -- it feels like you are visiting someone's home. Amazing spot! read more
Went for very early dinner, so it wasn't packed. The service was super friendly and fast. The place is decorated in a cute way with plush pierogi, some Polish art, semi-open kitchen. The pierogi were very good and tasted fresh. The borscht was a little different from what I'm used to (basically a clear red borscht without additional beets or red beans in it, so it's not very filling) but the taste was very good. Would absolutely come back to try all of the menu items! read more
Everything that we ordered was a delight! I loved the golabki and the savory pierogi mix (we got jalapeño and tatarskie). The borscht was very tangy and the mini mushroom pierogies were creamy balls of flavor). And the desserts were not too sweet! The waitress was sweet and very attentive. And it's a cozy, lovely little spot. read more

On a food tour We had Kielbasa plus a couple pierogis: one was a classic potato filling, fluffy inside and crispy outside. The other was a mushroom & cabbage. All excellent. read more
Best Polish food I've had outside of Poland! The service was great. I went in for lunch on a Sunday and was sat immediately. I ordered a latte (just okay) and two types of savory pierogi- the jalapeño and sauerkraut and mushroom. The sauerkraut and mushroom stole the show but both were good. Moderately priced. I will definitely be back! read more

Came here today when visiting Brooklyn and it was a really nice experience. We had Barszcz and Pierogi. Both tasted wonderful. It felt like being beamed back into my Krakow visit last year. The place itself and the staff are very nice and make you feel very welcomed. You have the opportunity to sit in- or outside. The place is very busy, so you might want to ask for a reservation. I think I have to go a second time during my New York visit. If you are nearby you definitely need to go. You will not regret. I went today again and it was really nice. Can only recommend to go there. read more

This spot has an amazing selection of pierogies so many options to choose from and all of them are really tasty! They also offer daily specials, which keeps things fun and worth coming back for. I really appreciate that they have both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great place no matter the weather. read more
This place is literally my favorite place in Greenpoint. One being that the pierogis is one of the best I've ever had! I came two times, one during Fall and now during Winter and I can assure you that I've sat outside both times and both times I've been so comfy and the heater works really well. The picnic table is just so big that I'm able to sit with my dog in peace with some friends (they're super dog friendly!) My Ukrainian friend introduced this place to me and we found out we can order raspberry sauce with our Zweigelt beer. This is a HUGE GAME CHANGER. From hangovers to just regular beer this tastes so good and I wish I knew about this in my life earlier on. I would totally recommend anyone who is coming here to try it! I've ordered pierogis in three different ways here. Salad with pierogi - if you ever want a fresh salad with dried cranberries this is an amazing pick as you get three fried pierogis and it literally tastes amazing with half the carbs. Pierogi - the regular pierogi platter comes in 6 and I recommend you get the potato and cheese all in 6 because this is my favorite kind of pierogi here and it's just absolutely so craveable. Mixed pierogi - I like to mix the meat and sauerkraut and mushroom together as it gives you a good amount of veggies and meat. Another way is that you can actually order pierogi with your borscht soup as well. All of the pierogi comes with regular sour cream and one with dill! I totally will be back here every season and love this place so much. I'm obsessed with their pierogis and haven't tried their regular meals but I'll definitely be back! read more
This place is fantastic!! My boyfriend and I came for lunch on a Saturday. There was no wait for the two of us, but it was pretty full inside. We shared: + Golabki / stuffed cabbage with meat and rice and mushroom sauce - this was incredible, and I loved that they give you the option of mushroom or tomato sauce, because I never like the tomato + Pierozek grill bowl with potato and cheese pierogi - also amazing Great service. Will be back!! read more
This place is absolutely outstanding. The food is some of the highest quality and well prepared polish food I've ever had. Perfectly cooked to order and just the right portion size. The restaurant itself has a really nice layout and is very clean and updated. They even have these cute little pierogi pillows on some of the seats! The bar drinks are well prepared. The server was pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable. I will definitely be returning to experience this wonderful Michelin rated restaurant again! read more
I had this restaurant bookmarked for a while. When I finally made my way out to Greenpoint with some friends, I quickly suggested this spot. They all agreed seeing the great reviews that it had on both google/yelp. When we arrived, we opted for an outdoor table. They have a nice covered outdoor seating area in the back which was nice and bright (filled with all natural sunlight). Upon looking at the menu, my friends and I all decided to share 2 savory pierogi mixes. A Savory Pierogi Mix allows you to choose 2 different options of savory pierogis instead of 6 of the same kind. It comes with 3 of each flavor on a plate. I'm glad that they have this option because it's the best way to sample all the different pierogis. We decided to get Murray's Cheese/Tatarskie/Sauerkraut/Broccoli & Cheese (weekend exclusive). To be honest, they were all delicious. I definitely could have ordered had 1-2 more plates. The pierogis were good that I didn't necessarily need the sour cream sauce provided, but it did add a creamy touch to it. The pierogis are also very light, doesn't make you feel bad about indulging on it. If I had to choose my favorite, it would have to be sauerkraut and tatarskie. Those two seem to have a soury/tarty taste added to it, which I liked. But, you definitely can't go wrong with any of them. My friends and I all enjoyed our fair share of pierogis. I can see why it was crowned Michelin star. I would definitely recommend for your polish food cravings or to try polish food for the first time like we did. read more

This place reminds me of a cozy dinner at a grandmas house. They have cute pierogi shaped pillows on the benches and floral print dishware. The servers also gave us good recommendations. * Red Borscht 6.5/10 - Tastes like something that would be really good for you. I wish there were vegetables in the borscht instead of just the broth. * Meat Croquette 7.5/10 - The Meat was a bit dry, but good crisp on the outside. * Kielbasa Dish with Murray's Cheese Pierogis 8/10 - The Kielbasa was salty and smoky and paired well with the mustard. * Paulie Gee Pierogis 8/10 - A bit greasy but yummy. I recommend getting them fried, instead of steamed. Overall, I thought the meal was pretty good and it was some of the best pierogis I've had. The homemade mustard was delicious. However, I wish there were more vegetables served with the dishes. The flavors of all the dishes were a bit too one dimensional for me. read more

Amazing pierogis, we ordered multiple rounds of them and couldn't get enough. My personal favorite was the mushroom but all of them were great. Also loved the stuffed cabbage dish. We went on a weeknight with a large party and the restaurant was not very busy, but I imagine that would not be the case on the weekends. Go check it out! read more
Came here on a causal Wednesday summer evening with a friend. Wonderful service and amazing food. TIP: order the Savory Pierogi Mix to get multiple types of pierogi. We 2 Mixes to try the Meat, Tatarskie, Murray's Cheese, and Jalapeño pierogi. It was my first time eating pierogi and I only have Chinese dumplings to compare them too and I loved it. The skin is chewy and the inside was bursting with flavor. We also ordered the Golabki/Stuffed Cabbage with mushroom and meat and mushroom sauce which was sooo umami and delicious. I'm coming back to try the other pierogi flavors as well as the kielbasa, and other traditional menu items. read more
I really enjoyed a late lunch at Pierozek. All of the little touches made a great impression on me. I enjoyed a cup of tea in a cup with a saucer that had an old school look/pattern. Might seem corny, but I liked it. I ordered the Murray's cheese pierogis. There are six to an order, and although they look small and cute, they are quite filling. The Murray's cheese are filled with potato and the namesake's cheese, and topped with crispy pieces of bacon and chives. My dish also came with sour cream and a herbed version that was very complimentary to the pierogi. My server was very attentive and pleasant from start to end. I look forward to returning and trying the other flavors of pierogi and drinks on the menu. FYI: they have a drink menu with very interesting offerings for those seeking a boozy experience. read more

Best Handmade pierogi on the planet! I highly recommend having dinner at PIEROZEK! Menu has so many varieties of pierogi. They also offer a special bowl on the weekends "Pierozek Grill Bowl" consisting of six pan fried pierogi of your choice served with grilled kielbasa, roasted yellow & green squash, red, bell pepper, caramelized onion, garlic, rosemary, and roasted corn. It's DELICIOUS! Also need to mention BEST CAPPUCCINO ever. MICHELIN 2024 read more
This was my first time trying authentic polish food and I enjoyed it. It's a cute spot. The food was very fresh. I loved the potato and cheese pierogi. I was not a fan of the raspberry and sweet cheese pierogi but I'm also not a fan of sweet cheese. The service was great! read more
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner around 7:15 p.m. on a Friday night. There was no wait, which was awesome. The inside of the restaurant is so cozy, more like a café. The staff were really nice and made us feel right at home. My boyfriend tried the kinder bueno cocktail and I had the mulled wine; both were fantastic. We shared the Tatarskie pierogi (filled with potatoes, eggs, dill, and scallions and garnished with bacon) and the Kaszanka pierogi (filled with blood sausage). Both were delicious; so comforting and the flavors were great. For dessert, we tried a mix of the strawberry pierogi and the raspberry and sweet cheese pierogi. They were both good, and we left feeling very full! read more

Popped in on Sunday around 2pm for a late lunch. Sad down right away outside in the rear garden. Friendly service all around. We ordered the sweet pierogie plate (strawberry and sweet cheese), a Zywiec (beer), a kielbasa plate with Murray's pierogie, borscht, and the stuffed cabbage (recommended) with mushrooms and rice. Everyone was over the moon with their meals, particularly me and the stuffed cabbage. Wow, amazing. Best I have ever had. My wife loved the kielbasa and pierogie. Great, friendly service. Really fantastic - we will be back. read more

What a DELICIOUS and FRIENDLY and AUTHENTIC experience! We had this on our list of places to try when the family visited NYC because my husband is of eastern European descent. From the moment we entered, it felt like we were in someone's kitchen getting a home-cooked meal. Our servers were so friendly and welcoming and great at suggesting items to order (the only bummer was we wanted to get the stuffed cabbage because that's something my husband's family has typically made from scratch - but they were all out for Christmas). We ended up getting the Kielbasa Dish, two platters of pierogis (Pierogi Tatarskie and sauerkraut/mushroom were delicious), a croquette, and some Raspberry & Sweet Cheese pierogis for dessert. Everything was delicious! We also made it in time for happy hour - talk about $2 vodka shots?! We all got shots which was fun, then the 2 for 1 beer/wine deal was awesome too. Would totally come back here and can't wait to try the stuffed cabbage next time :) read more

Overall super good polish spot! I first got the potato and cheese pierogis which really hit the spot. The mushroom and sauerkraut pierogis were nothing special, the texture was a bit too stringy for my taste; and neither mushroom nor sauerkraut was all that prominent flavorwise imho. We then had the golabki aka mushroom cabbage roll... the mushroom sauce was delectable, even on a boot it would be good. The inside (we got the buckwheat) was sort of dry, but the sauce mitigates that nicely. I'd come back to try other pierogis, and possibly even the borscht! The garden seating was lovely as was the service. Thanks team. read more

My second time at this restaurant. I will just keep coming back :) Came for Saturday at lunch at 1 pm. There were plenty of seats but by 2 pm, it looked like there was a little wait. I got the Kielbasa Dish (sausage). It also comes with 3 pierogi of your choice, and I chose the meat one, which consisted of the braised pork shoulder meat. Phenomenal!! I haven't had good sausage so good in a while. It came with mustard too, and I normally don't even like mustard but what they gave was really good. Pierogi was also just delicious. I actually had the same server as last time, and she was attentive and very nice. And of course, I like the vibe here. It's very organised and clean and feels like fine dining almost but it's affordable. read more

I love this place so much. Literally the best Pierogies I've ever had! I got the Potato and Cheese Pierogies, Mushroom and Buckwheat Stuffed Cabbage, and the Sauerkraut and Mushroom Croquette. I would 10000% recommend the Pierogies (I really wish I tried some of the sweet ones too). The mushroom and buckwheat stuffed cabbage was a fun try but I probably wouldn't go back for it -- same with the croquette. The service was super nice and it felt really welcoming! I liked the ambiance as well -- it was comfortable but also sleek. I would for sure come back here again. read more
