What a wonderful find! We were in the area to bike shop, and wanted to stop for lunch. There are so few authentic Polish restaurants left. What a treat! The pierogies were so tasty. You should know they are not fried, I think they might be boiled. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The place is small but cozy. It's clean, well lit and reasonably priced. It also has a lovely outdoor garden eating area. The unisex bathroom was clean and well supplied. I didn't try the additional downstairs bathrooms. Overall, we plan to visit again. read more

This place made me very very happy. So many kinds of pierogi at a reasonable price. What more could you ask for? The borscht is the thinner kind than say a Hungarian one and it was nice there were so many non-meat pierogis as well. YUMMY! read more

I came here for a family lunch and we all agreed that these were the best pierogi we had in New York! We tried the sauerkraut and mushroom pierogis as well as the Russian style ones and they were amazing! The interior design is very cute, and they serve the food in Polish ceramics Bolesławiec. They even have pierogi shaped pillows! :) The only thing I could complain about is that two drunk men sat right next to us, and were using vulgar language etc. We had to ask for the rest of our food in to go boxes cause it ruined the atmosphere a bit... Overall, I give this place a 10/10! I will be back, and I highly recommend this place :) read more

Pierozek is another gem in Greenpoint. I tried their mix plate of pierogi's. It came with Murray's Cheese and Sweet Cheese with Jalapeno. Each pillow of pierogi cloud oozed with a burst of flavors. The indoor dining has a minimalist touch while the backyard is cozy and lush. This place has been tagged by Michelen hoping they get the star they deserve. Pyszne! Dziękuję Ci. read more

10/10 experience every time we come. Pictured: Pierogi tatarski, broccoli cheddar pierogi, & 2 cups of borscht. Also recommend: Murray's Cheese Pierogi, the croquette, and the stuffed cabbage. Madelyn is our favorite server here- very pleasant, quick, and attentive toward her customers. This is one of our favorite restaurants and will continue to come! Thank you guys :) read more

4.50 stars. If you are looking for pierogie, you have come to the right place. This place has a number of pierogies that span the gamut of flavors. Looking for some sweet pierogies? They have fruit based ones as well as a weekend special with local honey. Looking for savory ones? You have your classic flavors as well as other less common flavors like BBQ chicken. Not in the mood for peirogies? Weird. But they also have other Polish classics such as stuffed cabbage and kielbasa. While I have absolutely no connection to Poland, I do love their food. And here is a place where you can find some of the best of it. One final tip: while you can and should enjoy some fresh pierogies on site, they travel well and some tasted even better the next day. So stock up and enjoy! read more

Loved this place. The food was excellent, atmosphere was nice and the waitress was super friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.

The best pierogis I've had in NY, but granted, I have only had a couple of other times. We got the Ruskie (potato/cheese), blood sausage, Murray's cheese (seasonal only - bacon & cheese), raspberry & sweet cheese. Each of them come with a different sauce (i.e. a tasty mustard for the blood sausage, sweet cream for the raspberry). I enjoyed all of them, but I don't know if I would get the blood sausage again. I'm a big fan of blood sausage, but it didn't really seem to add anything to being inside a pierogi. Also, they have outside seating once you go through the restaurant. read more

Incredibly engaging staff...every member of the Pierozek team that came to our table went above & beyond for us...calm, relaxing vibe...exceptional pierogie - we tried most of the varieties and this Polish/Ukrainian girl loved them all especially the sauerkraut & mushroom...make sure you save room for dessert pierogie, as well - the blueberry are wonderful! Love & care of the food served, the service provided, and the dining room decor is evident throughout... read more

Best pierogis in NYC hands down. Consistently evolving menu, always delicious pierogis and not only: everything else on their menu is top notch. There's also an outside patio which is perfect for warmer seasons, and crafted cocktails that are great as well. read more

This was our last stop while roaming through greenpoint. They've got a handful of tables in their rear courtyard. The area is covered and has a couple space heaters so it looks well equipped to handle unfavorable weather. The tables are also spread apart well. We had some tea and shared a couple orders of pierogies. We had one order of mixed savory pierogies and one order of mixed sweet so that we could try several different options. For the savory, we had the meat along with the mushroom and sauerkraut. For the sweet, we had half blueberry and half strawberry. I preferred the savory while my fiancée preferred the sweet. The staff was friendly, responsive, and attentive. They've also got some blankets out back if customers get cold. They just need some beer or a liquor license and you could spend all day here! read more

Rounding up from a 3.5 here. I got the savory mix, choosing potato and cheese and spinach and garlic. The spinach and garlic was okay. The potato was definitely the winner there. The sour cream and dill sauce complemented the pierogies well. The bottom of the takeout container was a bit greasy, which wasn't all that appealing. Definitely a solid option, but not the best pierogies I've had. read more

Cute little place with excellent service. We ordered a couple of dishes: Ruskie, Murray's Cheese, Blueberry and Strawberry (half and half) and mulled wine. The savory orders came with garlic dill dip and sour cream. The pierogis were fresh and just food for soul. Would definitely come back again for more to try out the other flavors. read more

The pierogi are ok - they are not amazing but not bad either. Definitely overpriced, but that is the norm in Greenpoint restaurants. The spinach and garlic pierogi weren't bad, but pierogi should be fried after boiling and these are served in oil after boiling. The borscht isn't bad either and that spring salad was tasty and served in a decent portion. There is an issue here is with the waitress with dark, curly hair who is honestly the worst waitress I have ever come across. She seems to be perpetually in a rush, never writes down the order and ALWAYS messes it up. The past three times I was at this establishment, she was my waitress and she rushed along our orders and then didn't bring half the things we ordered or brought the wrong food. Every time she has messed up my order it was a slow afternoon, there is really no excuse. Other than that, this experience is curated more towards hipsters than people of Polish heritage, but the restaurant is very nice and the food is decent. read more

Walking down Manhattan Ave towards McCarren Park we stumbled upon this fantastic pierogi palace. The patio was charming and comfortable and the service was friendly and helpful. The pierogis were fantastic a varied selection stuffed full with sauerkraut, potatoes and cheese, spinach and countless other more exotic fillings. All delicious, I had the summer bowl, 6 pierogis, 3 each of two different types if you like. I had sauerkraut and potatoes and cheese, not very adventurous, but very tasty. They came in a large bowl filled with yellow and green squash red peppers and sliced kielbasa, they were also covered with caramelized onions. Even the crockery everything was served was attractive. And yeah the cup of borscht was exceptional. read more

As a native Pole and pierogi connoisseur I can assure you that Pierozek is the real deal! I traveled almost an hour from Manhattan just to see what this place has to offer and my food quest paid off indeed. Upon arrival I was greeted by a pleasant waitress and presented with a short but quite solid menu. My friend and I decided on a savory mix of potato & cheese and sauerkraut & mushroom filled pierogi, red borscht and mushroom croquette which are Christmas essentials in Poland. Everything we ordered had a great presentation and was incredibly delicious. In fact, it was a nostalgic experience as the flavors brought back memories of my childhood. Pierozek has kept its promise of bringing authentic and delicious Polish fare to New York. Congratulations to the owners on this lovely place. Will be back soon! read more

Pierozek - Red borscht, sauerkraut & mushroom croquette and savory mix of pierogi. - Polish Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

the best Polish food I have ever had in the US. I tried blueberry pierogi, which tasted exactly like those made by my grandmother and meat pierogi which were equally delicious. The restaurant is very modern and I loved how it makes a proper introduction to Polish cuisine. This is a place where I want to bring my American friends and feel this is a proper representation of Poland. read more

If you're craving blueberry pierogis in the dead of winter, this is your spot. Bonus points for the sweet raspberry pierogis. The accompanying cream served with them is sweet and decadent. The kielbasa is great quality as well. This will run you a bit more compared to other pierogi spots in the neighborhood, but it's worth it. It's a heavy meal, but you already knew that. read more

Great polish spot for perogies with a nice backyard space. Definitely try their BBQ Chicken perogies (seasonal dish) with the Dill sour cream. Delicious and well stuffed. They give you six perogies per order but let you mix and match (eg. 3 potato & 3 bbq chicken). read more

Stopped by Pierozek on the way home to pickup savory and sweet pierogis to bring home to my parents. Came here for lunch today and ordered their summer pierogi bowl for $15. Normally it's $11 for 6 mushroom pierogies, but the extra $4 to get the summer bowl of extra roasted vegetables and sliced kielbasa made it a well rounded meal. Pierogies are still good - though I feel like the sauerkraut mushroom mixture had significantly less mushrooms that the first time I came here. The first time I had it, the mushrooms were plentiful and intense (in a good way). Still a delicious meal! read more

Ugh this place was a dream. It was a dreary rainy day when my bf and I went here and honestly it was like stepping into home. Both of us are polish and polish food is comfort. Let us tell you the pierogi lived up to our standards and we were so excited to see that they had Nalewki shots on the menu. Do yourself a favor and order the quince one I promise you won't regret it ! The soups are huge portions and the food comes quick. Staff made us feel so welcomed. The decor was also cute. Perfect pierogis! My BF and I come out to Greenpoint several times a year to eat Polish food and have donuts at Peter Pan (a fave!). I had seen this new spot on a friend's instagram and thought we should give it a try on our recent trip. First impressions - it's bright and cozy. Very clean and the staff were all very nice. I also loved the cute pottery that everything is served in, beautiful touch. The pierogis are amazing. The dough is perfectly thin and the fillings well seasoned and stuff to the brim. We tried the meat and the potato and cheese. Both were served with caramelized onions and sour cream which is a must for me. What I loved was they also had a delicious dill sour cream sauce. I haven't had something like that before but it was perfect. We also tried the combo of sweet pierogis. I thought they might be more "jammy" inside, but it was little pieces of real fruit served with a sweet cream cheesy sauce. I think they would be better in the summer months with berry season, but in January they were still really enjoyable and fun to eat. We also each had an aperol spritz - which isn't a Polish drink, or a winter drink, but we love them and thought, why not? Surprisingly good for a place with limited cocktail selection. The menu is pretty limited right now, but I'll be curious to see if they add anything in the future. Regardless, I'd be back! Filling, delicious and reasonably priced - a win for me! read more

I live in the neighborhood and have been coming here since it opened. The food and ambience are excellent. The borscht is outstanding, especially when you're sick. And the pierogis are top notch. The Pierogis are too die for. Absolutely delicious hand-made Polish pierogi. The Ruskie (potato & cheese) are the best. I also had the sauerkraut & mushroom pierogi and they were also fantastic. The dough on these pierogis are delicate, thin and the filling was great, seasoned just right. I know I will go back and try Nalesniki (Polish Crepe) and the Strawberry Pierogi. I met the owners and they were so friendly. The servers were excellent, polite and the space is gorgeous. absolutely beautiful. Delicious dumplings in a refined setting. Dessert is a bit dodgy - stick to the savoury items.

My favorite Polish restaurant in the city. My husband and I discovered it while walking through Greenpoint one day and decided to order pierogi and borscht with dumplings to go. Both were delicious. Since then, we ordered from them multiple times, tried nearly everything on the menu and never felt disappointed. Everything is fantastic. Flavorful and authentic polish food. I truly hope they expand their menu with time as I'd love to try more Polish dishes made here. read more

Yummmm. Grabbed some to-go from Pierozek before a night of bar hopping and it was everything we wanted. We had both the cheese/potato and the sweet cheese/raspberry and they were delish. My extended family is Polish, I've been making Pierogi every Christmas Eve since I was a little girl. Pierozek makes the best pierogi I've ever had. The Ruskie (cheese and potato)? Delicious and gooey. The sauerkraut and mushroom? Amazing, not bitingly acidic like sauerkraut can be. The honey barbecue? Spectacular, not too sweet not too spicy. The jalapeño? Surprisingly not very spicy - there's cheese in there, and it cuts the spice. I also got a kielbasa which was excellent, it was enormous and not anywhere near as spicy as expected. My friends and I split the sweet Nalisniki for dessert, and oh man. I had to stop my lactose intolerant self almost immediately before I ate the whole thing. The flavor of the filling tasted like a plain cheesecake, and the texture was similar to cottage cheese. That, wrapped in a crepe, topped with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and berries? Amazing. The dining experience was beautiful - we sat in the garden out back, there was 80s music playing, and our waitress was very attentive. I want to take my entire family here - it's that good. Absolutely worth the trip to Brooklyn. read more
