We were looking forward to our dinner at Pierluigi, having heard the food was fantastic and that it's where celebrities come regularly. The food didn't disappoint; the plating was beautiful, and the taste was good to very good, though not great. But the service wasn't up to standard. We had to call our server several times throughout the night, and although there were plenty of servers, they kept ignoring our table. It was an OK experience at the beautiful place, and the meal was good, but we wouldn't return.

People talking about this place having bad service are just not used to European service. It's like that everywhere. I thought the food was incredible, fresh, and extremely flavorful. Also, our server and service was superb by my American standard.

I had such high hope for this restaurant! I love seafood and while the oysters were delicious, the beef carpaccio was sweet and off putting. The waiter was completely rude and extremely pushy claiming I couldn't eat that much. I asked for no flour on my sole, but it arrived with flour. The lemon butter sauce was bland and not tasty. The scorpion fish was good but took 1 1/2 hours to cook. Very pricey for a disappointing meal.

A friend recommended us to try out this place. We were seated outside because we had a reservation. If you don't like the smell of cigarette, I recommended to get an indoor table. A lot of people smoke outside. The ambience is nice. The weather was nice for outdoor seating. Service is great. Staff is friendly. The food overall is decent but the price is a little bit overpriced. It is a touristy area in Rome, so I don't expect anything less in term of pricing. Food is just ok. The flavor doesn't match the price. But everything is very fresh. I enjoyed every dish.

Superlative seafood restaurant experience. I came back twice (and fingers crossed, one more time before I leave) for the red prawn carpaccio and calamari ribbons in pesto. (The spaghetti with clams was just as good as the best restaurants at home, so I'd try something different.) What I will try next time, according to patrons seated nearby: asparagus risotto and grilled sole with vegetables and sautéed greens. Wonderful service. I came here as a solo traveler when they opened at dinner and got in without a reservation; also at lunch on a Monday. (Note - the Yelp hours are wrong - check the website!) I will remember the meals I had at Pierluigi above all other restaurant visits during my trip to beautiful Rome.

Best meal we had in Rome! Beautifully fresh seafood. Every dish was eye opening delicious. Attentive thoughtful service. A splurge for sure, but worth it. We sat indoors (too hot outside) for lunch service. When we left our server gave us fans as souvenirs which were so helpful for the hot weather that day.

Fried calamari to start, which was good. The bread was so-so. A nice wine list that includes a few very good half-bottles. Service was friendly and attentive. I started with oysters, which tasted fresh but the shucking was not great. For 6 euros a piece it seems fair to expect them to be completely separated from both shells yet not scrambled and with no shell chips inside. The blueberry, pomegranate, and chestnut salad was excellent: fresh and an interesting combination of flavors. For the main course, I ordered the turbot filet with clams, artichokes, and marjoram sauce. It was marvelous. The fillet was perfect. I'm not sure everything quite matched the price point, but rounded up to 5 stars from 4.5.

Not that great. Nice crowd and service. Rude service. Won't come back. The drink was decent but nothing else was.

    Risotto it was really good!

We happened upon this exquisite place by chance. This is fine dining. The food, service and atmosphere is some of the best in Rome.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

Already depressed knowing we were returning to the cold and fearful Minneapolis, we spent the day packing and wandering Prati. After drowning our sorrows at a few cocktail emporiums in the early evening, we walked into Su e Giu without a reservation close to 9:30. The two guys working the front showed us to a table, and we proceeded to have a perfect last night meal. Our appetizers and pastas were great, service was friendly, and I spent time reflecting on how wonderful Rome is, rather than thinking about our return to the fractured States. Su e Giu Cucina Romana is the perfect Roman restaurant to feel La Dolce Vita. It is a sweet life indeed.

This shop is more of a countertop order from their limited menu but the menu is executed so well you'll be tempted to order multiple bowls. There are a few stools and table out front to enjoy your food hot. Both times I've been on separate visits within two years, has only shown me how consistent their food and quality is. You can pair your dishes with an aperol spritz or mini bottle of wine for less than five euros. The pasta was about nine to eleven euros and the portions were more than plenty. The chef and owner are super nice and very informative about their dishes. If you are a fan of spice you have to try their chef-recommended dish. They had one dish topped with pancetta and I just about wanted to lick my bowl clean. Everyone in the group was raving how delicious it was. Egg will forever be on my must-have when visiting Rome.
