    Pliny at sunset

Service is very friendly. The food is mediocre bowling alley food at best, at the price of a Michelin star restaurant. You order everything (food and drinks) at the bar, pay upfront, and they bring it to you. They write about their 1800s Bavarian bar on their website, with barstools in the pictures, but in reality you can't sit at the bar. The view for sunset on the outdoor patio is great though. I'd go for a beer again (Pliny the Elder on tap is a win!), but get your food elsewhere if you can.

We were recommended this place by a local and was intrigued by their pet friendly patio! Although it was chilly outside, the views were worth it. We ordered our food inside by the bar and our food was delivered to us super quickly! The fish and chips were a hefty portion and was accompanied by a creamy coleslaw and crispy fries. My partner got their chimichurri chicken and was stunned by how juicy and tender the chicken was. The dish definitely had a kick! We also ordered their ice cream sandwich which was just alright. Overall, we loved this place. Everything and everyone was great and we will be coming back whenever we visit again! Don't worry about the parking situation. There's plenty of it!

This restaurant is tucked away in a beautiful cove overlooking the ocean. They are located on the 2nd story of the building with a few businesses below. When you walk in, go straight to the bar where you order your food and drinks. They have open seating with beautiful views of the ocean. Food: 7.5/10 Fish tacos - the fish was soft/flakey and cooked to perfection. The veggies on top were an interesting touch, more than I'm used to, but they tasted good. The homemade tortilla shockingly held together under the weight of the huge tacos. Very good portion size! 6/10 Oysters and Chips - let me say that the fry on the oysters and chips was perfect! The breading and tartar sauce was flavorful and tangy. I give the 6/10 because when oysters are cooked they tend to be mushy and creamy, which was an odd texture change with the fried outing. 8/10 Clam Chowder - served hot, peppery with no skimping on the clams or veggies. It's a very thick soup and well worth the try! Overall will be back when visiting in the area!

This was a great meal. The food came out fast and we had a fantastic view by the window. Garlic fries were the best I've ever had! You will not be disappointed.

This place was in walking distance of our hotel. It's located on the water with great views. The service is friendly and dining room is clean with lots of chatter happening among the locals and other tourists. They don't have a full bar but had some tasty cocktails made with Sake and have beer and wine options. The food was pretty darn good. Only complaints we had was our calamari had nice pieces on top but what looked like the bottom of the bag crumbles underneath and the Cesar salad (not pictured, unfortunately) had too little of dressing. We could have asked for more but by that point we were stuffed and wanted to save room for our dessert. The food runners were timely and served with a smile. Over all it's a stop for us in the future

We enjoyed dinner our early dinner here very much. The dog friendly patio is beautiful. You order and pay inside and then just sit and look out into the ocean. Our food was great. We had the oyster po boy and the rockfish tacos. The tacos had me licking my fingers. Service was super friendly. I absolutely recommend!

Wonderful seafood spot right on the pier. It has a cute outdoor patio with a nice view of the ocean, but we sat inside since it was raining. The servers were super nice and very attentive. We got the calamari and the MAC daddy oysters and they were both INCREDIBLE! The oysters may have been the best I've ever had.

Eh. Nothing was right but nothing was super wrong, just a blah experience when it came to the food and service. Had to search for someone to refill drinks. You pay before you sit and tip is asked for before being served. All food came out at once. Bizarre. Best part of the meal was French fries and oysters. Fried Fish- overcooked Fish tacos were just wrong, from Tortilla to toppings Calamari was good, but more other fried things than calamari

I'm so glad I was able to visit this wonderful restaurant on a Friday night with views of the Pacific Ocean right from the pier there was a live band playing jazz music and the drinks and the food was good. We ordered a couple of beers and a Caesar salad and some chowder. Got a chance to meet the owner and her dad. They both are very pleasant and welcoming. I can't wait to go back to visit if you're in town or traveling, definitely add this to your list to stop it

Upstairs, on the water, was even able to park! Enjoyed Live music on a Friday evening with singer songwriter Colby Lee. Mellow sound, great mix and guitar riffs. Thanks! Had clam chowder- was ok - not enough flavor. Beef quesadillas were full of meat peppers cheese and sour cream on the side so I could dip each bite... and share. Tasty, full of flavor. Pretty place, big high ceilings and lots of space. Fast service- you order up front and pay there. We had a good time.

What a gem! It was. Little confusing to find the entrance to the restaurant. The staircase to the restaurant was behind the Western-like style building. Waitstaff were welcoming and friendly. We ordered inside the restaurant and sat on the patio because it was a gorgeous day. The view was stunning! We ordered some oysters and it was huge and meaty. I couldn't get enough of oysters so I ordered the Point Arena Po'Boy and I was not disappointed! The beer battered oysters were so juicy and tasty and the sriracha aioli and the house pickled onions made it an amazing sandwich. My boyfriend didn't like his meal as much as I did as he his fish was overfried. Regardless, it was an awesome place and will return when I'm in the area!

We recently relocated to Sonoma county (The Sea Ranch) from Silicon Valley (Menlo Park) and have had some nice meals along the coast since we moved here FT (Harbor House, Ledford House etc) but this little spot is a real gem. Friends recommended it so we had a double date night and filled the table with all sorts of goodies. Great evening and food. Highly recommended. Small, simply situated on a very quiet street in Point Arena. A few doors down from a decent locally sourced weed shop (also worth a visit BTW), and a local fish monger (Point Arena is a commercial fishing port) and solid local bakery (Pelican), this excellent restaurant serves up a variety of rotating locally sourced small plates and yakatori style grilled meats and veggies as well as some raw fish and stews as well. Highlights were the sashimi, the fish roe on rice, the grilled pork belly, the grilled cabbage salad, the tempura shrooms and the fried chicken oysters as well as the grilled chicken thighs. All excellent. They have a nice selection of saki's as well (we had 2 small bottles to share $20/each) and to close the meal we had the Matcha ice cream with passion fruit ! All in for 4 people including tax and tip $250...which in today's world seemed very fair to me. Great meal and great vibe overall. Chef/owners apparently have strong training and work experience in Japanese settings and fine dining restaurants- which may explain why this place does very simple things so well... Make a reservation on the weekends otherwise you'll miss out or end up eating at the bar. There are certainly worse things to do than that...however, trust me. Visit here and thank me later. Well done Izakaya Gama ! We will be back. This will undoubtedly be on our regular "locals dining out rotation" now. Bravo Izakaya Gama !

Fried, grilled, steamed, raw... not a single miss. We were staying just up the block on a short getaway, and this ended up being one of the most memorable parts of the trip. At one point we were talking about Rintaro in SF, and the chef overheard us--she mentioned he knew the folks there and spoke highly of them. Honestly, after eating here, I think Gama is better, and at a much friendlier price point. Warm atmosphere, great food, and a chef who clearly cares about what they're doing. This place is a win all around.

Yesterday was one of those days. The team at Sea Pal Cove invited me in to sample their Valentine's Day special, and let me tell you, they absolutely knocked it out of the park. They're offering a Valentine's meal for two that includes Shrimp Scampi , a calamari appetizer served with their famous chipotle dipping sauce, garlic bread, cheesecake, and two drinks all for $50. Yes, fifty dollars. Add in some of the best views in town, and you're already winning before the first bite. Now, if you know me, you know I don't play small when it comes to food. I brought along my friend Johnny Ramey, who knows his way around a plate as well as anyone I trust. Portion size alone left us both full, but more importantly, every dish delivered on flavor. The shrimp scampi was rich and satisfying, the calamari was perfectly cooked, and that chipotle sauce deserves its own fan club. Dessert sealed the deal, and the drinks paired nicely with a view that reminds you why we live here. Great food, generous portions, fair pricing, and a setting that does half the talking for you. If you're looking for a Valentine's dinner that feels special without feeling overpriced or pretentious, Sea Pal Cove nailed it. This is one of those meals that reminds you how lucky we are to have spots like this right in our own harbor.
