    Fish Tacos

Stopped by on our way down Hwy 1. Best way to describe was Its Okay. The carnitas salad was plentiful but simple. Carnitas Lettuce Tomato and Bell pepper with ranch. Needed some guacamole and maybe some salsa. The fish tacos are really good. Not battered fried fish, rather grilled fish with awesome salsa. Would have loved some of that salsa on my salad. The food is good and this is a local business so do a local economy a favor stop by, there is a lot on the menu.

Food is not bad. For Codiv, order at the window and they have a few tables out front. Service needs improvement and environment not great. But it's the only place serving hot food in Point Arena that we could find. Overall ok.

    Veggie burrito! Yum.

Super cute place to stop. Family owned place. Super fresh and tasty Mexican offerings. They also have beer and sangria. How can you go wrong. The nicest folks and great service. Clean inside and they even cut mine & hubby's veggie burrito in half. And the burrito itself was perfect taste and texture and seasoning.

This is my second review and they got my order wrong again...: I know there busy and this is there last day but I am so disappointed and heartbroken. I ordered regular chicken tenders and gave me spicy ones . 1/10. But I am great full for the free food but like bruh.

Great food and friendly people! The buildings right next door are vacation rentals, so it was perfect.

The Birria and homemade tortillas are amazing and the horchata is some of the best I have had in a while.

Solid Japanese style restaurant serving beautifully curated and thoughtfully prepared small dishes…read morein a seemingly unexpected location on the Mendocino / Sonoma coast ! We recently relocated to Sonoma county (The Sea Ranch) from Silicon Valley (Menlo Park) and have had some nice meals along the coast since we moved here FT (Harbor House, Ledford House etc) but this little spot is a real gem. Friends recommended it so we had a double date night and filled the table with all sorts of goodies. Great evening and food. Highly recommended. Small, simply situated on a very quiet street in Point Arena. A few doors down from a decent locally sourced weed shop (also worth a visit BTW), and a local fish monger (Point Arena is a commercial fishing port) and solid local bakery (Pelican), this excellent restaurant serves up a variety of rotating locally sourced small plates and yakatori style grilled meats and veggies as well as some raw fish and stews as well. Highlights were the sashimi, the fish roe on rice, the grilled pork belly, the grilled cabbage salad, the tempura shrooms and the fried chicken oysters as well as the grilled chicken thighs. All excellent. They have a nice selection of saki's as well (we had 2 small bottles to share $20/each) and to close the meal we had the Matcha ice cream with passion fruit ! All in for 4 people including tax and tip $250...which in today's world seemed very fair to me. Great meal and great vibe overall. Chef/owners apparently have strong training and work experience in Japanese settings and fine dining restaurants- which may explain why this place does very simple things so well... Make a reservation on the weekends otherwise you'll miss out or end up eating at the bar. There are certainly worse things to do than that...however, trust me. Visit here and thank me later. Well done Izakaya Gama ! We will be back. This will undoubtedly be on our regular "locals dining out rotation" now. Bravo Izakaya Gama !

Fried, grilled, steamed, raw... not a single miss. We were staying just up the block on a short getaway, and this ended up being one of the most memorable parts of the trip. At one point we were talking about Rintaro in SF, and the chef overheard us--she mentioned he knew the folks there and spoke highly of them. Honestly, after eating here, I think Gama is better, and at a much friendlier price point. Warm atmosphere, great food, and a chef who clearly cares about what they're doing. This place is a win all around.

We got the pad thai with chicken and green curry with chicken and a side of brown rice. The brown rice was the fun kind with that great texture, super yummy with the green curry. Green curry was super flavorful and packed with veggies and chicken. Thai tea with coconut milk was a little sweet for me but still very very flavorful. The place was surprisingly busy for what we thought would be a quick, early dinner. Nearly all tables (maybe there are 15?) were full, and as the night went on: they all filled up. Problem #1 was there was only one waiter to work the entire front of the house. He was greeting and seating people, waiting on all the tables, taking take out orders over the phone and manning the cash register for the endless stream of takeout pickups. There was a second woman who was bussing tables and handing out menus, but not doing much else we could see and contributing nothing to expedite anything. It took 30 minutes before we were asked to order. Then when we did, we were told they were out of three of the 5 items wanted on the menu. How does a Thai restaurant run out of Pad Thai at 5:30? No more house salad? And then to top it off, we ordered two different beers, and when he brought them back 10 minutes later, we find out that one of the varieties we ordered was also out. Would we like something else? But our menus were taken so I'll just have what she's having, I guess. Giving 2 stars as the food was edible (nothing mind-blowing) and we did eventually eat. Getting the check paid was another ordeal of hunting down someone to help. It should not take 90 minutes for two people to each get served an entree and a beer, but on this night it did.

And we're so glad we did. I had my doubts about this as all seating is outside and it's a little chilly out. As it turns out you eat in a tent with lots of heaters. I'm surprised the tent doesn't melt as it's so warm in there. I was happily impressed with the seating. There is lots of seating. There is also some seating on the deck without heaters and there were still people eating out there. There are mostly picnic tables you sit at snd share with other families. It's not shoulder to shoulder. There is a big gap between parties. So it was really comfortable. Their specialty is fish tacos, either grilled or fried. Most people got the tacos, next was the fish and chips and that is what we got. A basket includes chips and 3 large pieces of fish. The fish is very generous. We really enjoyed the fish and chips. The fish was moist and crispy perfect. And it was fresh and didn't taste fishy. The fries were crispy like I like them. The cup on clam chowder was the perfect size. It was creamy and full of clams and potatoes. This was the perfect size meal for two adults. They have a water cooler and cups for a self serve water station near the silverware. I recommend this restaurant to everyone and I'd come back again.
