This was our Third time to eat here , and it will be our last. First two times we where very satisfied with the food and the service. This time very very disappointed. Our server was very slow to attend to us, very slow to bring us our drinks. When placing our orders for the three of us, I first said we will start with fried alligator appetizer. My daughter and my wife give their order and he turned to walk away. I said excuse me do I get to order also? the appetizer took longer than normal to be served but the main course took over 30mins. Then after that long wait my wife and my oder where both incorrect. The service looked unkept and smelled like cannabis, could explain why Our service was so bad, he was to busy getting high to tend to the customers It was my choice to go here for my birthday celebration and I had already decided on my appetizer main course and desert, after such a bad experience to this point we decided to skip the desert. Came here for Mother's Day dinner tonight. They were busy when we first arrived but made sure to acknowledge us and communicated several times that they would be with us as soon as possible. We wanted to try a bunch of things since it was our first time. The mixed grill was AMAZING!!! We also tried the fish and chips and crab cakes which were also outstanding. We also got the fried alligator, calamari and crab Mac n cheese. These were also very good but I will probably order less of the appetizer items next time know how good the main dishes are. Our service was on point. I wish I had gotten the name of our server because he deserves a major shout out. Our drinks were never empty and he checked on us several times. This place is truly a gem. A clean and orderly restaurant, with staff who are focused upon your meal and your comfort. Just go through the Pier 101 customer food photos on Yelp! that are so amazing. Me? I was just craving salmon this day, did not want to drive all over, nor go fishing. I had not set foot in the Pier before, but staff made me feel at home. It was a holiday Monday, and Pier 101 was about the only eatery open in Rockwall's Fannin / San Jacinto downtown district. Every seat was taken, so I sat at the small, full-service bar, where an opening to the kitchen is where plates of food emerged, like a conveyor belt production line! I could not believe just one cook was punching out so much seafood, so quickly. I had a choice of Blackened, or Grilled Alaska salmon, dirty rice or couscous, with grilled veggies for $19.99. I chose grilled salmon & couscous, and it was a generous serving, well-prepared! Staff checked on me, made sure I did not lack anything. A sports show on the bar big screen was dividing my attention, but my plate was awesome. I chose the Key Lime pie for dessert, it was a great visual presentation, as well as in quality. Happy & full, the House Sangria on the bar menu interested me. Why rush off? But I was in for a surprise with a secret recipe bootlegger special that looked like pink lemonade poured over ice. It was not savory, but not bad. Hmmm... My compliments to the cook on this visit, he carried the team to victory today. Sign on wall says Max Capacity 49, but they stopped counting at 49 today. Mostly tables for 4, stacked close. 7 tall chairs at the bar counter. A patio room is toward the back, with ten or so small tables, windows all around, and a big screen tv. Wooden child high chairs available. A free public parking lot is at the back of Pier 101, more spaces across the way along Washington. Quite a first visit, I wrote a book here! Man I came here for my first time with my husband and best friend. The food was so good that when the appetizers came around I totally forgot to take photos to show how pretty it all was, taste was amazing. The shrimp cocktail was hands down the best I've had in years, we will be definitely coming back to try our more. For my main course I got the southwest salad with grilled salmon, everything about it was delightful and very filling. Coconut shrimp excellent as is blackened fish. Fried fish too but harder to screw up. Best hush puppies I've had. Wife likes the salads. It's not perfect, though. Desserts are outsourced. I found this little joint on Yelp when I was looking for a place to meet my parents in Rockwall. Cute little place just off of the downtown square! The atmosphere was seemed pretty laid back... unless you were not wearing the proper face gear. Don't get me wrong... I get businesses are in a tough spot... require the masks if you want... I'm cool with whatever. However, it's all in the staffs' conduct. If my 65yo mom from out of town wonders in the front door and forgot to put hers on please don't be a rude brat when you demand she have it on. Simply ask her nicely if she will wear it. The young lady playing hostess was very rude and frankly made me want to leave. However my mother took it in stride and we stayed. The food was ok... small plates for the price. read more

Tried the Sunday Brunch Menu and Patron Ceviche. Patron Ceviche was tasty but could stand to be cut more uniform in size so its easier to get everything in 1 bite. Fish chunks were huge. I had the Cajun Crawfish Enchiladas and they were good. We will have to come back and try the Crawfish and Seafood when it get warmer. read more

The fried shrimp po-boy includes the most crispy shrimp on a classical hoagie bun, with traditional fixings. They amplify the basic po-boy to something uniquely theirs by including this awesome jalapeno mayo along side. Perfectly fried jalapeno hush puppies, to go along with the sandwich. You can't see the jalapeno, but you sure can taste it! Out of this world banana bread pudding, since slicing into its chewy and sweet structure sends you to new heights! I especially loved the bourbon sauce that come with it. Not sure if Pier 101 is a chain, but they play up on the fact that Rockwall is near a lake - so seafood is their speciality. The online ordering system is really easy to manage. Calling in to get curbside service, I spoke with the one of the most calm and personable hostesses I've ever talked to. Really nice food packing, as they ensure the sandwich bread does not get soggy with this unique sandwich pad. Pier 101 is on the pricer end, but ordering food from here makes me wish I could make food like this for myself every night! read more

Solid menu, dining environment is nice but cooks often miss the mark on food quality. First visit this restaurant at least 2-3 times a month from during the week to weekends and happy hours. The selection at this restaurant is diverse and a bit overloaded but covers a wide range of options for the the person that wants something healthy to more decadent options. The offshoot to that is I have not had anything that hasn't stood out to me but all if not most are inconsistent between being mediocre and good flavor. The Gumbo was good but the jalapeno hush puppies are mediocre and it is actually served with jalapeno ranch which doesn't really have spice. So far the oysters have been consistantly good We recently stopped in to enjoy the special at the time. Fiancee got the special and I ordered some seafood. In the past we ordered seafood before and was pleased with the results. The special was consistent and the vegetables was well seasoned. The seafood on the other hand was burnt on one of the ends and partially upset as it ruined my experience. The burnt portion effected the quality obviously had to send it back after starting part of the meal. The kitchen probably shouldn't have sent it out without inspecting the portions. So my biggest concern would be consistency in the kitchen. The environment and the table side service has been above average in both during peak hours and less busier times. During a peak time we were given an ETA of 30 min to seat. We used this time to walk in downtown but was called 15 min. Location has a great wall decor with the ambient noise wasn't too loud and plenty of screens to watch sports in both areas of the restaurant. I still plan to return but any patrons interested in visiting this place its a good place to get your fix but don't expect an upper tier seafood experience. read more

My wife and I decided to try this place out since it's relatively close to home and we both wanted some seafood. It was a Friday evening around 7 pm when we decided to give it a visit. From the beginning...the parking lot can get very crowded but fortunately for us, we were at the right place at the right time so we got a good parking spot. As we made our way to the restaurant, I noticed as soon as I walked in, there was no greeter or hostess. Perhaps the restaurant is confused to what type of restaurant it identifies itself with no hostess yet still charging $20+ for some entrees. Just my own opinion. The inside eating area was not very full, perhaps 60% full and the outside area was maybe around 20% full so that should have warned me about this place. As we were eventually seated, I could sense the waiter was not being friendly and seemed a bit frustrated. Even when I asked for recommendations, she didn't provide much feedback. I ordered the Friday special and my wife ordered the friend shrimp. As we were going to eat, we opened the napkins to grab our forks and my wives fork looked like it hadn't even been washed. So was so much food and filth on it, it was disgusting. My wives dish came out and here were some seasoned fries and fried shrimp. I didn't count how many but it didn't seem like much. While I think the food was delicious, I don't know if the price justifies the quantity of food on the dish. I ordered the Friday special which was red snapper and 3 bacon wrapped shrimp on top of a bed of spinach and rice with sauce drizzled on top. The food itself was pretty good. I enjoyed my dish which cost $24 (a little bit too overpriced) but it was delicious so it is what it is. Over all experience, not sure if we'll repeat here.
