Stay away! The WORST moving company ever. I'd leave negative stars I would. The moving consultant Karen who we've been in contact with told us that we were all set for our long distance move in July and then ghosted us. After many phone calls and emails to Karen directly and to their office, we were then informed that we were not on the schedule and August was all booked out so we need to look for other options, less than a week before our long distance moving day. I've used Piepho for most of my moves and they'd always been great. Not this time. My move involved storing my belongings for five months and that part was fine. The move out of the house was mostly OK, though they banged up walls and doors moving things out, which I had fix on the way out the door myself. The delivery was not great. Forgotten at the warehouse was half of a sectional, a couch and a large area rug. I'm halfway across the country now so it's not like I can just go get them myself. It's now a month since the move and I still don't have them. And I've had to repeatedly reach out to them to get an update. Finally, on Tuesday, the response was that my things are no longer in Minnesota. But zero update (it's now Friday) on where they are or when I'll get them. Not even talking about the broken media center and lack of response to my filed claim. I can't recommend them anymore. read more

My stuff was ail broken ! I got my household goods delivered today. I had over 20 containers dented and broken and crushed. The driver showed up with only 2 skinny workers to unload 10k pounds. Veronica works the phones at this company told me all drivers only use 2 unloaders which is a lie.My stuff was packed up with 6 workers and a driver. She seemed like she couldn't careless and talked smart to me on the phone and basically said oh well, Very unprofessional . Im very unhappy with this company. I paid for my household goods to be delivered intact, they were not. I would advise you to go with another shipping company unless you want your good broken like me ! read more

We had a very mixed experience. We moved from Minnesota to the east coast, so a very long haul and very expensive move. The original contact with the office was good. The packers were good. The driver was excellent, as were the crews he hired. The really frustrating part was our moving coordinator. She was unbelievably bad. She was unresponsive, didn't call when she said she would, and didn't have information. Luckily, we were in direct communication with the driver, who texted to let us know that our stuff was going to be a day later than he originally told us. The people in the office were not tracking this; they had to ask me when our delivery was. It was really stressful at times to know that the person whose job it was to make sure things went smoothly for us was completely unreliable. read more

After seeing the negative reviews here on Yelp! I was, to be honest, worried about signing up with Piepho, but the professionalism and courtesy that I was shown, blew me away. I decided to write about the positive experience I had with Piepho. To start with, we were moving cross country and our little one bedroom apartment did not have much stuff, on getting quotes from other movers, we realized that the weights assigned were as per some internal software and was adding many many extra pounds and inturn $$$$s to our quote. We spoke to Paul from Piepho who came over, and gave us a quote on the spot after personally valuating our stuff, which was a relief since our couch did NOT weight 350lbs as what was quoted by the other vendors. Closer to the move, we were handed over to the move co-ordinator and almost everything went as clockwork. The two man loading team showed up, tagged and loaded the stuff, while they gave us an estimate of 5-14 days for the move, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a call from the truck driver 6 days after our stuff left home. He fixed a time with me and sure enough there was an unloading team that came with the truck to unload and place the items in the rooms that I requested them to do so. They were efficient and courteous, and I really liked the fact that they first rolled out carpets onto the wooden floors so as not to damage the flooring. I wish I could give this company zero stars. NEVER use this company to move your stuff. Moving is hard enough but this company will only make it harder. They are extremely disorganized and do not know what they are doing. Per their request, I had someone come out to give me an estimate for my move. When the movers showed up, they didn't have the right materials with them based in the estimate given. They totally underestimated the number of boxes needed. The estimate called for 1 wardrobe box when in fact, I needed 3-4. They didn't even bring a box to pack my TV. And worst of all, they didn't bring the right size truck to fit into the storage garage (which I CLEARLY and REPEATEDLY called out to the guy giving the estimate). Because they didn't have the right materials and truck, I was forced to take another day off from work to reschedule my move. Secondly, they accepted my business without having ANY line of sight as to when my stuff would be delivered. I picked this company because of the 4-14 day delivery window I was quoted. After a week of no word, I called the company to check on the status. Turns out, they didn't have a driver to take my shipment and weren't sure when they would be able to get one. My delivery is now planned for a month after the pick up and two weeks after the promised (and contracted) date. The company will also not provide compensation for the delay because my shipment is too small. Save yourself the hassle and the time and pay for a moving company that will do it right and on time. read more

Overall, these guys did a pretty good job with most things. However, they messed up in a couple of different areas. First, they were misleading re: how careful and experienced they are in moving pianos. We would not recommend them for piano moving! There were many dings (it looked like the legs had all been dropped,) and the pedal system was bent. When we asked that they repair it, they simply wrote us a check for an amount reached from an equation they use for basic coverage. Also, in our cross-country move and after storing our furniture with them for 4 months, they somehow left 2 large sections of our couch and another chair back in the warehouse. They were several days late with the first delivery and it was another 3 week wait to get the missing pieces. read more

Very professional company. We used them for an in-town move from Saint Paul to Eden Prairie. The guys who actually moved our stuff were very courteous, friendly, and professional. The company sent out an employee to do an on site quote, which I really appreciated. He even gave us tips on how to save time when it came to the move day. The quote they gave us was in line with most of the other over the internet quotes I received, so I chose Piepho based on their customer service. Definitely recommend them! read more

I've moved a lot - 6 times in 8 years. 3 of those were "local" (around 100 miles) and 3 were long-distance (over 1,000 miles). I never thought I'd give a moving company 5 stars, but Piepho earned it. Paul came to give my estimate, and he was efficient and very knowledgeable. He was done within 30 minutes and I had my quote on the spot. The quote was very much in line with the previous 1,000+ mile move 18 months earlier, also with Allied Van Lines. Much more reasonable than the 3 other nationwide carrier quotes I got! Tammy was my move coordinator. I really didn't need to talk to her much - everything went so well. But when I did need her, she was available to take care of any questions or issues I had. Here's where the 5 stars were really earned - my driver, Moses Ndichu. He was so polite and so detail oriented, that I had no concern that everything I owned was on a truck somewhere between Minneapolis and Greensboro. I felt confident that he would treat my stuff like it was his own, and that he would get it to me as quickly as possible. Which he did. 8 days - very reasonable time frame. The loading crew in Minneapolis was awesome - they had 4 guys working on it, and we had a time constraint with the building elevator. Very professional crew. Moses and Stephen Hall (from Excel Moving and Storage here in Greensboro, NC) did the entire unload by themselves. They were outstanding. There were a couple of minor issues, which weren't even worth making a claim on. I was so pleased with the service (for the load and the unload), and the speed of delivery. This is the second long distance move I've done with Allied, and I wouldn't use anyone else. I am also very glad that I chose Piepho for the Minnesota end of the move - they made it very easy for me. I don't recommend using this company. They contract with an unreliable moving company. Karen came to our house and quoted us the cost. She also referred a car transportation company as well for my vehicle (the car transport company was horrible!). First, the rep sounded annoyed that I called. Then she said their timeframe was either 2 days before scheduled pick up or two days after. The price for that was ridiculous. I asked for a specific date to be picked up as it was my only day off that week and she said that would cost extra but not 100% guaranteed. I called Karen back and left a message asking if she knew of any other transportation company but she never returned my call. The movers came and packed our stuff. The driver promised our delivery to be on a Saturday (10 days out) from MN to CA. I confirmed with him and asked if he was sure to deliver on that Saturday cause I would need to take time off work unpaid and didn't want to miss work if he wasn't to show up. He assured he would deliver. Saturday rolls by and didn't get a call to confirm if they were coming or not. I was able to contact the driver to check status and he told me he was sorry, but running late and that he he would call me back. He called back 6 hours later to tell me that he won't be able to deliver our property until the following Tuesday cause he is stuck in Arizona waiting on a cashiers check payment. I asked what cashiers check because we had to pay in advance for our moving service. He said sorry, but I will have to wait until the following Tuesday. I was upset cause I missed work for nothing. The driver asked if the company called to notify me about him not showing up and I said nobody called me. I waited all day and nothing. Very unprofessional when we paid a lot of money for service and they don't communicate to let us know what is going on. read more

We were worry about not getting our things during the scheduled time frame when we met with Paul. Like he has said that we should and will get our stuff during the scheduled time frame and we did. Thanks to the winter moving timing and good coordination on Piepho side, we are pretty happy to see our things arrived on-time. Our master bed assembly is a little bit tricky but with everybody's intelligence, we got it figured out. Only when it was disassembled, a picture will be helpful:). All are good. We were just a bit surprised to see our folding chairs and bookshelves were not wrapped. read more

These guys are awesome! I requested a quote through yelp and immediately got a response even at 9pm at night, wow impressive. Not only were they the least expensive out of other people I received quotes from, but the customer service and care with my items was exceptional. Elijah was very personable and even insisted I sit down and relax they had it covered. They finished in under two hours and didn't scratch any of my walls or furniture. We hired Piepho Moving & Storage to store & move our household belongings to Minneapolis. After verifying that everything was accounted for, I paid their crew lead the remainder of their fee. He signed the invoice, verifying that payment had been paid & received in full. Several days later the funds were deducted from my bank account. The General Manager of Piepho Moving called me a few months later requesting that I submit another payment, stating that my initial payment couldn't be found. I explained that I had submitted my payment and the funds had been deducted from my account. He called again in November requesting payment, stating that my account was past due. I explained again that I gave my payment to their crew lead and that the funds had been deducted from my account. I've received letters from Piepho Moving, demanding payment and threatening legal action if I didn't comply. A few months later I received collection papers from a debt collection agency working for Piepho. They then began calling me with demands of payment, and I explained the circumstances. They demanded to see documentation to verify that I had paid, so I sent them copies of the signed invoice and the processed check. They stopped calling & sending threats, and refused to return my calls for resolution. In March I received another call from the owner of Piepho Moving with accusations of theft & fraud, demanding access to my bank account and threatening legal action if I refuse. I refused. 2 months later I received a letter from Jeffrey Piepho, owner of Piepho Moving, with accusations of fraud, and demanding payment to avoid police involvement, attorney action, and additional collection fees. All of my financial obligations to Piepho have been met, and have been verified by a Piepho Moving employee, an independent collection agency (Baker, Govern & Baker) hired by Piepho Moving & Storage, and US Bank records. But, they continue to harass me & my family for payment they've already received. Do NOT hire these bullys. You'll be sorry if you do. read more

D'Angelo and Sam showed up and moved our entire houseful of belongings from Minneapolis to Blaine in just a couple hours and the final charge was less than we were quoted. We had Piepho move us this past weekend when it was 20 below zero! They were nothing but professional and positive when moving our stuff off of not one but two trucks. They even handled and moved our grand piano, in the freezing cold, with skill and care. Piepho did a great job and I can wholeheartedly recommend them. The move coordinator, Tammy, a was pleasant and very professional to deal with and our move from a house, to a temporary apartment with storage of most of our things, and finally to our home, went without a hitch. DO. NOT. USE. Crappy handling of your items (my furniture not wrapped properly or dressers with drawers that remained full - as I was stated to leave drawers full because they are supposed to shrink wrap items with drawers so nothing inside is damaged or lost.) Lost a bunch of my belongings bc they didn't do their job. Worst part is customer service in Fort Wayne could care a less about my damaged and lost items. Rudest person is Kathryn who I've had to deal with in IN. She's issuing me like a $30 check. Wow, thanks so much! I only paid like 4K for all of you to not to your job properly. The only reason I'm giving them even 1 star is because I did ultimately receive all my goods. Unfortunately they didn't stand by their original quote- the move cost me almost double what they quoted because they didn't estimate the proper packaging materials (I'm finding out this is their MO). It felt like bait and switch because I told them I was getting multiple quotes and they came in low on the front end. I paid for it in the end! They didn't bring the proper packing materials for my glass top tables, I had to pack my own TVs or they would charge me extra, and I had to leave multiple messages and no return phone calls to coordinate the move and delivery. We unpacked family heirloom crystal glasses at the bottom of boxes with pots and pans, they packed garbage baskets with the garbage still in it, put boxes that belonged in the bedrooms in the basement, etc. (Paul and Scott were the only cooperative people I worked with and Paul keep apologizing for everyone else's mistakes). The list goes on and on... It was the WORST moving experience I ever had! Would NEVER recommend this company to move me across the street, let alone across state lines. read more

I wish I could write a great review but after all has been said and done movers continue to be disappointing. We move A TON - across country-with my husbands business. We had to move from MN to WA state. The guy who gave us the estimate never showed up so they had to send another person. When it came time for the moving truck to show up they realized (2 days before) that the truck would not fit on our street so they would have to do a shuttle (at our expense). After a number of phone calls later they waived the shuttle fee. Then the van they sent out was barely large enough as they had underestimated the size of our move by about 3,000 lbs. We were told that we had to have our flat screen boxed by them so it would not break. We paid them $150.00 to box it, that was their fee. Fast forward ahead. We get the "best" driver they have (he was nice) but after all is said and done we had things missing and the flat screen TV THEY packed and charged us $150.00 for was broken. We had our things moved from our home to the shuttle truck. Then from the shuttle to the main moving van, then to our place. Our stuff was moved 3x. In order to get our things into the main moving van the movers had to take boxes and shoved them into our wardrobe boxes, big boxes shoved onto pieces of furniture in order to take up less room, and then had missing items. We were told by the claims dept. that because we signed that we had everything delivered we were out of luck. When we asked the driver if we should check every box that came off the truck he said "yes you can, or you can just trust me, I've done this for many years"...we shame on us. We trusted him and now are out a stereo unit, speakers, etc. The real killer is that they would not even reimburse us for the fee they charged us of $150.00 to pack the TV that they broke. I would say BEWARE. There are not too many movers that are very good, and or ethical and I wish I could say these guys were, but again, after all is said and done they fall into the same category as the rest of the industry; not very good. read more
