In town to catch a Tigers game and wanted pizza with both Vegan and Gluten Free options. Pie Sci to the rescue! They have your traditional choices along with Vegan and Gluten Free. It is a very clean and homey dinning area! The staff makes you feel welcomed from the get go! Our visit to Detroit was in the 90's with very high humidity which kept us indoors. They also have a garden patio out back which would have been my preference if the temperature was a bit lower. My family and I all had small square pizzas. We had a Veggie D on gluten free and made vegan with the cashew cheese. My daughter was in a happy place with her choice. We also had a Pep Squad made vegan with the follow your heart cheese. Another hit. I had Hawaiian 5-0 on gluten free along with the jalapeño bbq sauce. My pizza was great! They serve Faygo soda which is great. Their homemade version of the Choco Taco was great! As hot as it was. I was going to ask if I could get it out of their walk-in freezer myself!

Veggie pizza with beef pepperoni

Pretty good pizza I ordered the veggie pizza with beef pepperoni, crust had cujin and sesame the pizza was completely covered with toppings which I loved and full of flavor but unfortunately their were a few slices that had a few bites that the dough was not completely cooked. But the rest was yummy

Gluten free dairy free supreme pizza

This is one of the best gluten free dairy free pizzas I've ever had! I didn't know there was such a thing of GF thick crust, and when I finally found a spot with GF thick crust and DF cheese, I was over the moon to try it. The pizza went beyond my expectations. The crust was soft and tasty. The cheese was plentiful and actually melted. The toppings were also plentiful. The staff were also really helpful. My only disappointment was that I didn't buy another pizza to take home to freeze. Not sure what cheese or crust they use, but I will be back every time I visit Detroit no matter what. I wish all GF DF pizza could taste like this!

Pepperoni Pizza, small square

Heard great things about this place and finally stopped in. It is much smaller inside than I was expecting. We got two small pizzas, a pepperoni and supreme square. Nice outside crisp cheese on crust, crust was really nice, I was expecting a much more dense crust but it was airy, which was great! Flavor of the toppings was great and sauce was nice. Would for sure come back!

BLT (Small)

Yummy! I only like thin crust pizza, and this hit the spot. I had the BLT, which was delicious in the future. I'll get it with even more tomatoes. My daughter had the Keegan Michael gnocchi, two thumbs up. My sister-in-law had the Hawaii Five-0, another two thumbs up.

Pie Sci is a staple local pizza joint serving both classic and imaginative pies in traditional Detroit style (or round, if that's your thing!) Both times I've dined in was for a collaboration pizza between Pie Sci and Khana, the "Butter Chicken" pizza. It's truly a masterpiece. We got there early on a Monday evening and snagged a table, and watch them get progressively busier the whole night. There's never not a pizza in the oven. You order at the counter, grab your seat, and one of the workers calls your name at the counter in a sing-songy fashion that prompts you to want to respond in the same way. Nice to see them having fun with it! Pictured: Cheese bread, Butter Chicken pizza (speciality, not usually available) we made this disappear quickly!

Spin Doctors

This pizza is hands down the BEST Detroit-style pizza. I try one and it becomes my favorite and then they cycle it out for the season so I'm forced to try another and that one tops the last one. Lesson: try them all!

Visiting from Indiana. We needed some legit Detroit style pizza and, boy, did we find it. Employee's were nice and helped us quickly. Cute little shop. Unique toppings with plenty of vegetarian options. Crust was well made. Clever food combinations. I had the devastator and that curry ketchup really sealed the deal! Definitely coming back

I recently went here and I have to say that it was alright. I did enjoy the pizza although the texture of cheese not so much. The dough is the kind where you need a drink with it! My boyfriend who is not a vegan enjoyed the cheese bread the most and had no complaints about the pizza! I'm not too sure what the inside of the restaurant looked like or how good the service was, although my boyfriend went into the place and I heard no complaints from him. I ordered the pizza online and it was done in about 20 minutes! I'd like to add that I would definitely come here again. The pizza is very filling and I like that we can customize our pizza with a bunch of different toppings. I can appreciate this being a vegan place because there's not many near my area!!

I am a fiend for Detroit style pizza. I so wanted to love Pie Sci, but I can't say anything really stood out. The menu itself is quite creative. With options like Hawaii 5-0, pickle rich, and even Alfredo. I went for the fennel sausage, Which sounds wonderful in theory. Technically speaking, it falls short. I'm looking for the distinctive crispy outer crust I've come to love and the chewy thickness of the crust itself. The pizza itself would could have really benefited from a sauce to top it off(as often you find on this style), or even a drizzle of some sort. I wish I could say more, but it's all just subtle and underwhelming. Since the very first encounter I had with Detroit style pizza, I've been shouting its praises from the rooftops. I've now had it all over the country, and some absolutely incredible pies to say the least. But one thing that continues to mystify me is why I simply cannot find a great Detroit style in.....Detroit! The search continues....

Gluten-free Pickle Rick
Tara R.

I'm always on the lookout for delicious gluten free pizza, and my husband and I were in the area, so we decided to give Pie Sci a chance. Goodness! I am so glad that we did. The pizza was large and delicious. The staff were very friendly. There aren't a lot of tables to sit at, but that wasn't a big deal to us. The gluten free crust is thin and crispy, somewhat like a thick cracker. We got the Pickle Rick. My husband, who eats gluten, even said it was one of the best pizzas he's had. There is street parking, and as it's across the street from a university, I'd imagine it's quite popular among college students. We will definitely be back.

One of the best Detroit Style pies, and with that responsibility everything is divine from the crust crispness and flavor to the crazy flavors. And crazy isn't that crazy, I had a strawberry balsamic pie that still makes my mouth water. Pie Sci isn't afraid to try new things and that's what makes it so great - when you go (because you have to) try the weekly flavor it's usually worth the risk! With any Detroit style pie, it does take a while in the oven, but it is better fresh. They do have seating, but it is minimal.

Felt homie which we loved. Small parking lot as well. We arrived about 20 mins after opening. This place can get busy /packed fast but is worth the wait! Food: we ordered the Packard pepperoni pizza- it was delicious, with a great balance between sweet (from the hot honey) to savory. The dough, sauce, and toppings were well balanced, fresh, portioned.

Parking is extremely limited they maybe have 5 spots available excluding pickup but there is parking of street parking around so don't worry. Seating is also extremely limited, we ended up sitting outside on one of their outside benches but the weather wasn't too bad. They also serve you plates and water if you sit outside. It took about 20-30min wait for our pizza. We got the packard pepperoni to share. It sure does pack a punch of heat/spice with the chilies. The honey balance it out well though so don't be too scared. The bread/dough was very fluffy and the cheese crust was crunchy and delicious! Definitely very bread heavy in general but I think this place does it well. Overall decent pizza but I think I prefer a thin slice over Detroit style.

It's always a challenge getting a few people to agree on what to do for lunch so when my neighbor…read morein the cube farm suggested getting a salad today, the "lunch bunch" walked to 7 Greens today. We arrived smack in the middle of the lunch rush with a queue out to the door but it did move quickly. The menu board has some suggestions for their pre-designed salads, bowls, burritos and smoothies. Or you can "build your own" on the fly and like Subway and Chipotle (but way better!), they add the ingredients as it goes down the line. I decided to stick with the "Kare Bear" - Romaine base with BBQ chicken, hard-boiled egg, bacon, avocado, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and red onion with their ranch sauce. It sounds like a Cobb Salad to me. I watched the young lady assemble the ingredients and toss it together then pour it into a cardboard bowl. $15.25 plus tax. Remember to grab a fork if you don't already have one at your desk. It was a bit too busy to eat in today and it was a bit too warm to sit outside. So we brought it back to the office where I demolished this huge and delicious salad. It's not cheap but it is fresh and it feels healthy. I would absolutely choose 7 Greens again for lunch. We were nicely greeted and sat at the bar. We checked out…read morethe cocktail menu and knew that this was the right voice for dinner. We ordered the Last Sunrise in Tuscany and the 59 Barrera and Son. Both were absolutely delicious. We watched the bartender make the Last Sunrise in Tuscany and we had to ask about it. They make this with a house made syrup which isn't too far fetched for this restaurant. They try to make everything from scratch and it really shows in their offering. We were so hungry we had to order a couple things to share. But before we ordered we asked the bartenders (absolutely amazing) about what to order. Now when I say they gave the most elaborate explanation I could almost taste these dishes she was explaining them so well. She knows food and she knows good food. So we went with her recommendations based on what we were going for. We ordered the Duck, the Ravioli and the Rigatoni. When I'm telling you everything was perfect, it was PEFECT! The cook on everything, the favors that danced in my mouth. The filling of it all. I cannot wait to come back to try the rest of this menu. As dinner was winding down, I asked Kennedy to choose my last cocktail. She presented me with the most delightful white sangria and I was wowed by the flavor and lightness of it all. We then ordered a few lattes to go and we were talking about that dinner and restaurant for the rest of the week. Shea and Kennedy were absolutely amazing!

The bacon scone was absolutely outstanding, however you have to ask for butter for this, which is a must, but that was the only thing for a $325 brunch bill for 4 people. The entrees were cold when we received them, and one took so long to get that it was actually comped by the restaurant. The steak and egg benny was okay. The egg was overcooked and only jammy and not runny, and the croissant which had the steak on it was super oily and gross. There is a reason why a biscuit or english muffin is used in this dish, so whoever decided a croissant was a good idea is not smart, or eating the current weekend chef's food. The potato frites super greasy and oily as well as cold. Draining them on a paper towel would have been clutch. We had other entrees that no one finished because of the quality and taste of the food. It would have been helpful if the kitchen staff put the food under a salamander or heat light. If they have one of these, it certainly wasn't working that day in proper order. This is not a place I would ever go to brunch again. Maybe I would try dinner have one of their cheaper dinners as the $34 benny was overpriced and underperforming. I am giving this place three stars rather than one because the service was great unlike the food.
