Obviously I have seen all the people posting about their pancakes, and yes, they are the size of hubcaps. For real reals. The guy next to me ordered them and my eyes almost popped out of my head. But when I walked into this cute little spot on Agnes in West Village, right there on the wall, on one of those dark boards where you slide the letters in (I think they are called felt letter boards) were six glorious words: This Week's Specials - Fried Bologna Sammy. Well there you have it folks. Decision immediately made. Here's the caveat though, it wasn't your typical thick sliced baloney (yes, I know what I did there) with some American cheese on a bun. Nope nope nope. This was pan toasted bread, pickled onions, lettuce, cheese and her bed mayo that was nothing short of spectacular. I didn't know if I would like something more than what I usually had and I can emphatically say yes I did. Had a delicious cup o' Joe to wash it all down and honestly was the happiest fat boy in the whole wide world. The service was fantastic, the food was fantastic, the experience was fantastic. What more could you ask for ?

Guests of a "certain size" may need to opt for the chair not the bench, like I did, to avoid butt swiping the table next to you. I ordered the egg and cheese sandwich, without the spicy pimento cheese (they have cheddar available). I found their sausage to have a bit of a heat to it, but my SO thought I was crazy, so that's just personal preference - I like a sweeter sausage. I also got a side of the breakfast potatoes and schmear. They say "smashed" on the menu, but I was pleasantly surprised by the full mini potatoes. I could slice them up how I wanted and could choose my level of schmear to dip. I found them very good. The SO got pancakes and a side of sausage and enjoyed them both. They came around a lot to ask if he needed a refill on coffee and to top off my water which was nice. The food was out extremely fast, helps to have a limited menu! I would definitely come again.

The spices, the flavors, the perfectly crisp coating, the toppings, you name it, this chicken is it. Order online and it's ready for you quickly so you can get it all over you in the car if you want. One of the best restaurants in Detroit and one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. This…read moreis thanks to the chef and owner Chef Omar, who is a fantastic human. The restaurant is easy to miss, located on a main road. They do have a small free parking lot. The interior is small, intimate, casual, and unpretentious. At my second visit (my first was several years ago when it first opened) my friend and I came late in the afternoon on a Friday. I'm not sure if we came at a slow time (we were initially the first customers there) or that the Chef was training a new service, but we received VIP treatment. I've occasionally had chefs check in, I've never had service from the chef before! He discussed the menu, as well as his intention for the restaurant. I love Moroccan tea, and the tea service they provide is just lovely. He is certified in tea, and incredibly knowledgeable. My friend and I started with the mudammas fava bean dip, served with pita chips. This was so fantastic I would return just for it. Creamy, just the right balance of flavor, topped with fresh veggies to add texture, I cannot say enough good things. I had the lamb tagine, and she had the kafta meatball batbout. The meatball is listed as a sandwich, it is in house made flatbread. Both dishes were amazing, so fresh and flavorful. The lamb shank was fall off the bone, the couscous was loaded with fresh vegetables. I ended up stopping in for lunch again by myself. I had the harissa potatoes and the flava bean soup, and a slice of pie that was a special. Everything again was fantastic, but it's the potatoes that you will crave after having once. Crispy and brightly flavored, soft once you bit in. I was able to try one of the Chef's teas, and hear a bit more about the restaurant. While the bread for the meatball batbout is made in house, the bread for the fish and chicken sandwiches he obtains locally. I like how engaged he, and the restaurant as a result, is with the community. Chef Omar treats all of his customers as welcomed friends. A quick note that the restaurant does not have any alcohol. They offer alcohol free wine and other beverages. Be aware of this, but do not let it deter you!

We arrived smack in the middle of the lunch rush with a queue out to the door but it did move quickly. The menu board has some suggestions for their pre-designed salads, bowls, burritos and smoothies. Or you can "build your own" on the fly and like Subway and Chipotle (but way better!), they add the ingredients as it goes down the line. I decided to stick with the "Kare Bear" - Romaine base with BBQ chicken, hard-boiled egg, bacon, avocado, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and red onion with their ranch sauce. It sounds like a Cobb Salad to me. I watched the young lady assemble the ingredients and toss it together then pour it into a cardboard bowl. $15.25 plus tax. Remember to grab a fork if you don't already have one at your desk. It was a bit too busy to eat in today and it was a bit too warm to sit outside. So we brought it back to the office where I demolished this huge and delicious salad. It's not cheap but it is fresh and it feels healthy. I would absolutely choose 7 Greens again for lunch. Although I may come back again to try a different pizza to judge that portion of this establishment better since it didn't feel any different to me from other chain restaurants I've tried so not sure what's the hype about. Seating is limited, service is bad. They open at 12pm on a Sunday and I had called at 12.05 to check if they have a waiting , they first refused to put us on wait list on the phone which is ok, next they mention (at 12.05pm) they already had a waiting of 45 min. While we did place the order on the phone to pick up in 20-25 min, when we arrived we did find a couple seats empty and for some reason they were discouraging us to get a seat when we had mentioned multiple times that we would like to dine in and only take togo if there is a long waiting. There were people waiting outside on the picnic style tables they have which they call "outdoor seating". They were not waiting to be seated as well and just waiting for their pizza to go when we asked. While taking the pizza we asked if we can get some water they refused they don't have water for to go! I already had placed a cola for togo so it was hard to imagine that they have colas but no water?!?!? Service is exceptionally bad for our experience and this will highly discourage us to even try this place again anytime soon
