    Duck breast with mushroom risotto

Great food and a really fun ambiance! The drink selection is fun and everything was really good. We specifically loved the short rib ragú pasta and the thin crust Italian pizzas were some of the best pizza we've had in the area.

Skinny utensils that are actually surprisingly hard to grip and use. Dumb.

This place is as pretentious as they come. The decor was cool, but that's about where it stopped. The canned way the server talked about "your experience", slow as hell to get our food to us when it was lunch time and not busy, to the utensil handles being so incredibly thin they were hard to use because you couldn't grip them well. And I have smaller hands! The managers in their pastel pink or mint green suits or sport coats - silly. They'd walk by the table eyeing us but never bothered to ask how things were. Now on to the food. We all had the pizza slice which, at a glance, did look delicious. That's where it stopped. It was an overcooked, tough, thick hunk of bread with some cheese, a smidge of sauce, a few teeny basil leaves and mini pepperonis. Like $18 for this - ridiculous. Never again, don't waste your money. I'm not sure why this place has great reviews but it was a total disappointment. Detroit has much better dining options. Two stars for decor. One star for food.

The Melanee (beet infused mezcal cocktail with Reposado, lime juice and pineapple/ginger syrup)

Truly enjoyed my time at Mad Nice. Sat at the bar and was greeted immediately. Actually had two bartenders assisting. The first, I now regret not asking his name, gave me a taste of a beet infused mezxal they are testing for spring and offered to make me a cocktail after seeing that I loved it! The cocktail was amazing. Something I couldn't wait to try again. Asking what the name of it is, he said he made it up. It wasn't one on the menu. So we decided to call it The Melanee, after me of course . I wasn't all that hungry but I ordered a pizza but while waiting I had some of the salad my sister in law ordered. It was delicious. Again, didn't catch the name but it had nuts and radishes tossed in a very different tasting ranch dressing. The pizza was what you'd expect it to be in a top tier Italian restaurant. Crust was just thick enough to hold up the heavy sauce and the toppings were quality. But, what took me over was dessert. So glad Tiana (fantastic server, I did get her name) suggested we take a look. I'm a sucker for a good Gelato and once I saw it on the menu I had to get it. But all I saw was for $25. Asking the crafter of The Melanee about it, he explained it was huge. I only wanted a taste so he pointed out The Sando. Perfect choice! It was everything I could have asked for and more! The almond brittle I wished I could buy in bulk! Will be going back for a few more cocktails and to order dessert first!

Ambiance and service were great. The food is amazing. Whoever the chef is deserves a standing ovation. The grilled octopus was amazing and tender. The peaches and burrata were by far my favorite dish. I also tried the ribeye cap and personally was not a fan of the flavor profile but the steak was cooked perfectly. Overall an amazing experience

Mad Nice absolutely lives up to its name -- stunning space, great energy, and genuinely excellent food. We ordered the octopus, gem salad, Guanciale pizza, and duck pastrami cavatelli, and every dish delivered. The octopus was perfectly tender with a light char and great balance. The gem salad was crisp, fresh, and surprisingly addictive. The Guanciale pizza stood out with its nutty richness from the pine nuts, balanced by the sweetness of figs and a light, crispy crust. The duck pastrami cavatelli was rich, savory, and comforting without feeling too heavy. Beyond the food, the space is beautiful and thoughtfully designed. There's a coffee shop that's great for daytime visits, plus a private dining room that would be perfect for birthdays, group dinners, or special events. The atmosphere feels elevated but still warm and fun. Service was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience felt polished without being stuffy. A great spot for date night, celebrations, or hosting out-of-town guests -- definitely one I'll be coming back to.

The vibe was fantastic -- fresh, fun, clean, and full of personality. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel good walking in. The space is an influencer's dream too, with plenty of spots to grab a great photo. The staff was amazing. From the hostess who gave some great recommendations to our waitress who steered us toward the Street Waffle we're still talking about. They really went above and beyond, which is rare to find these days. The food was a HIT! The Street Waffle was crisp on the outside, light and fluffy inside, and just perfect with a little butter and syrup. We also tried the Dirty Diner Pie and Omelette, both delicious and full of flavor. Overall, it's a spot I'd definitely come back to -- perfect for brunch, drinks with friends, or grabbing a bite before catching a show. I could totally see this place fitting right in at Somerset or Birmingham.

If you're looking for one of the best dining experiences in Detroit, Mad Nice is not to be missed. Mad Nice delivers modern Italian fusion with a handcrafted feel, and the food is truly exceptional. The lobster appetizer alone is one of the top five dishes I've eaten in my life. It's that good. The pizzas deserve their own moment. We've eaten pizza all over Italy, and somehow these stand right alongside the best. The sourdough crust is light, perfectly balanced, and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. Every bite feels thoughtful and intentional. The atmosphere is just as special as the food--inviting, lively, and perfect for gathering with friends. It's one of those places you want to come back to again and again. What really elevates the experience, though, is the hospitality. Our favorite server Rob and manager Jeff are masters of what I would call "unreasonable hospitality." They remember our favorite dishes, surprise us with things we love even when we don't order them, and never let us leave without a special touch. It's rare to feel that genuinely cared for at a restaurant. And don't overlook brunch. Their house-made sourdough bagels--served in a variety of creative ways--are phenomenal and worth the visit alone. Detroit has an incredible food scene, and Mad Nice is absolutely one of the standouts.

This place should change their name to MAD DELICIOUS. Located roughly 1 mile from downtown Detroit, this place was super cool. The decor was very unique(See attached pics). There is plenty of on street parking for in the neighborhood and a Valet lot for $15. The atmosphere was dope, the music was a really nice vibe. The service was incredible, our server Elijah was on point, he was knowledgeable about the menu and even warned us that the Gem Salad was more than enough to split. He didn't have to do that, so I appreciated it. The pizza was out of this world. I had the sausage and olive pizza and added mushrooms and pepperoni. Who knew that I would have some of the best pizza I've ever had in Detroit at a place called Mad Nice!!! Oh BTW, I'm from Jersey, so I know good piizza. This place is a MUST TRY. I loved everything about it, and I think you would too.

The cutest chic restaurant in detroit!! The food is high quality and can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The servers here are very friendly and knowledgeable with their recs. I've loved every time I have come here. Definitely need a reservation because this place is popular. Perfect for a cute girls night out or date night!

This has only been my second time here but I absolutely ADORE this restaurant! We came for brunch on our anniversary weekend and enjoyed our entire experience here! I love all the pinks and greens in there. The interior is so aesthetically pleasing! We were given an anniversary card which is super sweet! I'm grateful for the extra thought:) We both loved our coffees! We both were given little blondies with them. Which is so neat! I don't think of anything that could please me more than a sweet treat coming at the same time as my coffee. My bf ordered the Biscuit Sando and loved it! I took a bite and the biscuit tasted homemade and it was delicious. I ordered the Steak & Eggs Benedict. The poached egg and steak was sitting on top of croissant toast. Croissant. Toast. It was hands down one of the best Benedict's I've ever eaten. I loved the tanginess of the hollandaise too We shared a Street Waffle as a sweet treat... it was so yummy! I need the recipe haha We ended the brunch with a digestif but I'm not sure exactly what it was but it tasted amazing. Loved the atmosphere of this place, our server was incredible, & the food was delicious! Best time! Please check this place out! Loved the brunch and dinner is great too!

A lively, bright, Italian-inspired spot with a warm, welcoming energy from the moment you walk in. The hostess was fantastic, the room had plenty of tables, and the vibe felt alive without being chaotic. Smiling faces everywhere -- friendly staff and genuinely knowledgeable servers set the tone right away. The menu is broad and tempting, so naturally we had to sample a little of everything. We started with shishito peppers and grilled octopus, both absolutely outstanding. The Little Gem salad had a Caesar-style twist that worked beautifully, and the lobster salad they brought out for us was fresh, flavorful, and downright delicious. For pizza, we went with the Patate -- a bold choice with potato, Parmesan, and rosemary. Unexpected, a little wild, and surprisingly excellent. Main courses included agnolotti pasta, rotisserie chicken, and rib cap -- all cooked perfectly and worthy of a repeat order without hesitation. Service was top-notch from start to finish, and the manager Tatiana took exceptional care of us. A great experience all around and a place we'd gladly return to.

Mad Nice has a cafe on the rear end of it (with parking included!!!) The first dozen customers get a free bagel. The space is so cute and open and there is a big open table in the back that you can work at! The coffee is half off during happy hour and worth a yummy latte for $3. I would say I love the cafe more than the restaurant so worth the visit in the midtown area.

Been wanting to try this place for a long time, and I'm so glad we finally did for a birthday celebration. The decor and vibe inside are awesome--they completely transformed the space. The standout dish of the night was the Duck Pastrami Cavatelli with parmesan broth, cured egg yolk, and sambuca. I know what you're thinking--sambuca in pasta? But trust me, it was incredible and so creative. The flavors blended beautifully and felt like elevated comfort food. Our server was super friendly and even helped us decide on a few dishes. She mentioned they try to make everything in-house whenever possible, which is always a great touch. The pizza was also very good! One unique dish we tried but didn't love as much was the Egg Yolk Ravioli with kombucha, chili, and black truffle. Still interesting, just not our favorite. And the birthday touches were so thoughtful--a signed card from the staff, a candle in our dessert, and a chocolate piece that read "Mad Nice Birthday." Such a great experience overall. Overall, it can be a bit pricey, but this place makes it worth it.

At our table, we started with Chai Lattes. They offer milk alternatives-Yaay! The Chai was good sprinkled with cinnamon and steaming hot. It could have used a bit more chai, which I'm sure they would have supplied but it was good that I sipped away. To note, they do offer cocktails and beers, as not all brunch places do. We tried the Mushroom and Goat cheese Omelette and a Build your Own omelette. Our table was pleased as the omelettes may appear 'small' but don't let that fool you, they were packed with flavor. Also, the dishes were made to order. The cubed potatoes were delicious along with the Zingerman's Toast with strawberry jam. Oh yes, we also got a side of the chicken sausage and no disappointments. Everything was cooked to perfection. I must point out that the ingredients were fresh, we could taste the difference with the farm to table ingredients and the potatoes and omelettes were not greasy at all! Can't wait to visit again-recommended!

There is seating to eat there, however it isn't comfortable since there are stools with high legs but the tables are too low for your legs to fit under. You either have to eat with your legs spread wide or sit on the edge of the seat. Management needs to change it. Hopefully we will give it another try and hopefully the food will be better.

Of course, I arrived ridiculously early for our reservation since I always worry about parking. I…read moreparked farther away just to be assured of a spot. I need not have worried; there was parking closer by. Oh well. The restaurant is tiny. And it maximizes the space by lining its walls with colorful bottles of wine, chic and cher containers of olive oil, and pots of artisanal honey hiding here and there. My friend pointed out the breathtakingly beautiful bouquet of dried flowers hanging over our table. I should have taken a photo when I had the chance. I started with the spiced brown sugar latte, made with oat milk. Delicious and sweeter than I thought. Even though the menu is small and curated, I could not decide between the nosh plate, the biscuit brekkie, or the quiche, which was the special of the day. So I ended up with the quiche but added the biscuit and bacon - I did not want to miss out. The crust of the quiche was fine, but the custard-like filling was divine, more like a savory crème brûlée or flan. Service was quick and efficient. Our reservation was made for one of the predefined 90-minute blocks, so the staff was on top of getting and delivering our meals and bussing tables as soon as they emptied to make room for the next group of guests.

I feel like a lot of waiters and waitresses have the worst suggestions and just say everything is good. She was on point. I did get bacon instead of chicken sausage like my mom and sister did. I tasted my sisters and it was excellent I'll be back! The plate was light but filling. The salad was perfect addition and left feeling not guilty about a biscuits. The biscuits were so good my aunt and mom are coming back before their flight to take 4 each lol

Wish I could give them 100000 stars!…read more Not often am I super wowed by chain locations. I have never been to any of the other locations as this was me visiting across from the states, but wow! It's small and cozy, but cool to hang with friends. I can most definitely tell a lot of young and college kids would enjoy this place. Food was amazing. Came for just some boba tea/dessert and seen this fire menu! So I seen chicken wings and of course I had to try them. I chose the seaweed and it was an excellent choice. And the best part is they were all flats. I need to try the rest of the menu. Staff was nice and everyone walked together. Almost like it was family owned and operated. Everyone was nice.

I have been meaning to go here for a while, and today I finally did. I had the Hong Kong-style dry…read morestirred noodles with chicken, paid an extra $2.99 for the mango juice, and got a tiramisu cheesecake for dessert. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the chicken was very well seasoned , I instantly fell in love with it. The mango juice tasted freshly squeezed and left me craving more. I love cheesecake, and I've honestly never had a bad one, so I might not be the best person to judge, but this one was perfect. The service would have been 5 stars, but the food took a little while to come out. Aside from that, my experience here was immaculate. I cleared all my plates and had to stop myself from licking them . There's also a friendly older lady here who is so charming, always checking if you like the food and engaging in small talk. I absolutely loved that. I will definitely be back soon.
