They are fried to crispy PERFECTION, coasted with some enchanted salty stuff, plus fried rosemary, and the dip they come with has a hint of lemon and it all just works fabulously. This place should change their name to MAD DELICIOUS. Located roughly 1 mile from downtown Detroit, this place was super cool. The decor was very unique(See attached pics). There is plenty of on street parking for in the neighborhood and a Valet lot for $15. The atmosphere was dope, the music was a really nice vibe. The service was incredible, our server Elijah was on point, he was knowledgeable about the menu and even warned us that the Gem Salad was more than enough to split. He didn't have to do that, so I appreciated it. The pizza was out of this world. I had the sausage and olive pizza and added mushrooms and pepperoni. The first, I now regret not asking his name, gave me a taste of a beet infused mezxal they are testing for spring and offered to make me a cocktail after seeing that I loved it! The cocktail was amazing. Something I couldn't wait to try again. Asking what the name of it is, he said he made it up. It wasn't one on the menu. So we decided to call it The Melanee, after me of course . I wasn't all that hungry but I ordered a pizza but while waiting I had some of the salad my sister in law ordered. It was delicious. Again, didn't catch the name but it had nuts and radishes tossed in a very different tasting ranch dressing. The pizza was what you'd expect it to be in a top tier Italian restaurant. Crust was just thick enough to hold up the heavy sauce and the toppings were quality. But, what took me over was dessert. So glad Tiana (fantastic server, I did get her name) suggested we take a look. I'm a sucker for a good Gelato and once I saw it on the menu I had to get it. But all I saw was for $25. The space is an influencer's dream too, with plenty of spots to grab a great photo. The staff was amazing. From the hostess who gave some great recommendations to our waitress who steered us toward the Street Waffle we're still talking about. They really went above and beyond, which is rare to find these days. The food was a HIT! Everyone so kind and made sure we were taken care of amazingly especially the two female bartenders they were lovely and always on it. Been wanting to try this place for a long time, and I'm so glad we finally did for a birthday celebration. The decor and vibe inside are awesome--they completely transformed the space. The standout dish of the night was the Duck Pastrami Cavatelli with parmesan broth, cured egg yolk, and sambuca. I know what you're thinking--sambuca in pasta? But trust me, it was incredible and so creative. The flavors blended beautifully and felt like elevated comfort food. Our server was super friendly and even helped us decide on a few dishes. She mentioned they try to make everything in-house whenever possible, which is always a great touch. The pizza was also very good! This place reminded me of LA! IT has an open kitchen, very reminiscent of all the restaurants in LA. Everything is very high quality and deliberate. We got a margherita pizza, the uovo ravioli (comes with 4 egg yolk reviolis), cacio e pepe, and the burrata. Overall, the pizza was my favorite, followed by the cacio e pepe, burrata, and lastly the uovo ravioli. To start, the restaurant is gorgeous inside and very instagrammy, it has a cabana meets casual luxe / girly vibe to it yet with great food that makes this such a fun restaurant to visit and eat at. For parking, there is ample street parking or valet (I believe it's $15). We had the sourdough bread starter which was delicious plus the olive sourdough / dukka starter which is some sort of Egyptian dip and very tasty with the pesto added. The olive sourdough was different and had a nice panini sear on it plus real olives in it. I had an amazing cocktail from the California vibes menu that had a little rose water in it and vodka and aperol, it was tasty and not too sweet yet easy to drink and refreshing. I also had an amazing Italian sweet red bubbly wine by the glass which was incredible. I got the margherita pizza which is served with some nice metallic scissors for cutting it / for pizazz, lol. It was a good portion for one person or if you wanted to split could do that too probably with another side. We also got the sourdough donut dessert which was delicious and accompanied with a chocolate sauce. I was definitely stuffed after this wonderful dinner and would definitely come back. We came around 11 am on a Saturday and it was pretty empty. We tried the Omelette, Quiche, softy bagel and cinnamon roll. Food was good but wasn't anything special for the price. Recommend the toasted pistachio latte. Of note - They charge for water and we didn't know this until getting our bill and seeing "vero still water" on the bill. We couldn't decide on just one dessert so we got 2! The chocolate cake was good, but the gelato tower can't be beat! YES, it's a tower and meant for sharing, but their creamy, luxurious gelato is made from a machine imported from Italy, topped with candied pistachios and shaved chocolate and a decadent treat. Zeppoli Caviar - Salty and sweet,,, altogether is an insane combination. 9/10 Cinnamon Roll - It's a little firmer on the texture,,, its indicative of the sourdough thats in it. It's a nice and different roll. 7.2/10 Mushroom Toastie - The mushroom dip is phenomenal. Toasted sourdough has perfect char. 9.5/10 Steak and Eggs Bennie - the steak on top Good and perfect. After looking at other reviews, it seems like my issues with Mad Nice aren't new or unique. Before I dive into this review, I want to say that I would really like to come back here for brunch and reevaluate, because I've heard great things. The vibes in here are awesome, and my mom noted that it would be great for a bachelorette party meal. The ambiance is so cute! The main reason I wasn't super sold on Mad Nice for dinner was because the menu is not super gluten allergy/sensitivity friendly, and the prices were high for me to not really be able to eat something I wanted. I definitely should have called to check if there were GF options for pizza or pasta, but most places of this price point do offer accommodations now, so I didn't think twice. It sounded like the only truly GF dish on the menu was salad (there weren't a lot of appetizers I could eat either). The rotisserie chicken dish I ended up getting was decent, but they had to take off gluten ingredients, and it didn't necessarily meet my expectations given the price (which may have been due to the missing ingredients). In the future, I would really like to see Mad Nice expand to offer GF pasta and pizza dough or offer some substantial GF menu items as many other places in the area do so that I can enjoy some of the meals they're known for, rather than having to modify a meal past recognition. Overall, I loved the vibe here and my mom really enjoyed her food, so I don't want to knock it as a whole- I just would've had a much better experience with some truly GF options that weren't just salad. I really enjoyed Mad Nice. We came on a cousin's girls night out. The vibes were totally in sync with what we wanted for the evening. We ordered several cocktails to start. The one that I ordered and enjoyed was the golden hour in Mendocino. I actually had two of them because they were so good. I ordered the ribeye cap as my main which came with diced potatoes and a spring mixed salad, I also ordered the beef tartare as an appetizer and the sourdough. One of us ordered the butternut squash and yellow Lote, and the other ordered the smoked duck breast with mushroom risotto. The beef tartare had really good flavor to it. One complaint that I had with it, though was that the texture of the beef seem to be a little inconsistent. Some pieces were kind of clumped and cut, oddly. But other than that, the dish itself was really good. The sourdough was delicious also. The butternut squash and yellow tea had a really good flavor to it and was not overpowered by the additional sage. It was creamy and warm and I wish I had ordered that dish also. The smoked duck breast was the best duck I have probably ever had in my life. The risotto that came underneath it was very deliciously flavored with mushroom but came to the table cold my ribeye, which I normally adore was a little lackluster. The potatoes and the salad that came with it were really good, but the ribeye itself could have used a little bit more salt and then just a tad bit more tender. It did have a chew to it that leaned on the side of being a little overcooked I did order it medium all in all we had a great experience at the restaurant, the service was impeccable, and I would definitely return to try more dishes when I am in town. read more

Once a friend showed me and the second time I was showing my sisters. I love this coffee spot. The first time I ordered a hot cherry chocolate latte... SO GOOD!!!! My friend got the same and then also got a ginger latte to go and it was also pretty good. The second time I ordered a pistachio latte and I think I liked the other one a little better but this was still delicious. Tip to the shop, pistachio chocolate as like a little Dubai chocolate inspired latte... I dont know a seasonal thought... Anyways, my sister ordered a cookie butter latte (I think) and it was also so good. One of their seasonal. My other sister order the biscotti latte and it was so yummy too. Very nutty flavor profile. The interior is definitely a place where influencers would flock and while it is pretty, modern and open, it felt like it was trying a bit too hard. The seating is also weird and kind of not comfortable. We had a two seater near the entrance but they seated us at the end and our table was angled so weird with the booth bench.
