    The Gem Salad. Sneaky Good!
    Vinton S.

This place should change their name to MAD DELICIOUS. Located roughly 1 mile from downtown Detroit, this place was super cool. The decor was very unique(See attached pics). There is plenty of on street parking for in the neighborhood and a Valet lot for $15. The atmosphere was dope, the music was a really nice vibe. The service was incredible, our server Elijah was on point, he was knowledgeable about the menu and even warned us that the Gem Salad was more than enough to split. He didn't have to do that, so I appreciated it. The pizza was out of this world. I had the sausage and olive pizza and added mushrooms and pepperoni. Who knew that I would have some of the best pizza I've ever had in Detroit at a place called Mad Nice!!! Oh BTW, I'm from Jersey, so I know good piizza. This place is a MUST TRY. I loved everything about it, and I think you would too.

The Melanee (beet infused mezcal cocktail with Reposado, lime juice and pineapple/ginger syrup)

Truly enjoyed my time at Mad Nice. Sat at the bar and was greeted immediately. Actually had two bartenders assisting. The first, I now regret not asking his name, gave me a taste of a beet infused mezxal they are testing for spring and offered to make me a cocktail after seeing that I loved it! The cocktail was amazing. Something I couldn't wait to try again. Asking what the name of it is, he said he made it up. It wasn't one on the menu. So we decided to call it The Melanee, after me of course . I wasn't all that hungry but I ordered a pizza but while waiting I had some of the salad my sister in law ordered. It was delicious. Again, didn't catch the name but it had nuts and radishes tossed in a very different tasting ranch dressing. The pizza was what you'd expect it to be in a top tier Italian restaurant. Crust was just thick enough to hold up the heavy sauce and the toppings were quality. But, what took me over was dessert. So glad Tiana (fantastic server, I did get her name) suggested we take a look. I'm a sucker for a good Gelato and once I saw it on the menu I had to get it. But all I saw was for $25. Asking the crafter of The Melanee about it, he explained it was huge. I only wanted a taste so he pointed out The Sando. Perfect choice! It was everything I could have asked for and more! The almond brittle I wished I could buy in bulk! Will be going back for a few more cocktails and to order dessert first!

If you're looking for one of the best dining experiences in Detroit, Mad Nice is not to be missed. Mad Nice delivers modern Italian fusion with a handcrafted feel, and the food is truly exceptional. The lobster appetizer alone is one of the top five dishes I've eaten in my life. It's that good. The pizzas deserve their own moment. We've eaten pizza all over Italy, and somehow these stand right alongside the best. The sourdough crust is light, perfectly balanced, and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. Every bite feels thoughtful and intentional. The atmosphere is just as special as the food--inviting, lively, and perfect for gathering with friends. It's one of those places you want to come back to again and again. What really elevates the experience, though, is the hospitality. Our favorite server Rob and manager Jeff are masters of what I would call "unreasonable hospitality." They remember our favorite dishes, surprise us with things we love even when we don't order them, and never let us leave without a special touch. It's rare to feel that genuinely cared for at a restaurant. And don't overlook brunch. Their house-made sourdough bagels--served in a variety of creative ways--are phenomenal and worth the visit alone. Detroit has an incredible food scene, and Mad Nice is absolutely one of the standouts.

Mad Nice absolutely lives up to its name -- stunning space, great energy, and genuinely excellent food. We ordered the octopus, gem salad, Guanciale pizza, and duck pastrami cavatelli, and every dish delivered. The octopus was perfectly tender with a light char and great balance. The gem salad was crisp, fresh, and surprisingly addictive. The Guanciale pizza stood out with its nutty richness from the pine nuts, balanced by the sweetness of figs and a light, crispy crust. The duck pastrami cavatelli was rich, savory, and comforting without feeling too heavy. Beyond the food, the space is beautiful and thoughtfully designed. There's a coffee shop that's great for daytime visits, plus a private dining room that would be perfect for birthdays, group dinners, or special events. The atmosphere feels elevated but still warm and fun. Service was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience felt polished without being stuffy. A great spot for date night, celebrations, or hosting out-of-town guests -- definitely one I'll be coming back to.

The cutest chic restaurant in detroit!! The food is high quality and can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The servers here are very friendly and knowledgeable with their recs. I've loved every time I have come here. Definitely need a reservation because this place is popular. Perfect for a cute girls night out or date night!

The vibe was fantastic -- fresh, fun, clean, and full of personality. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel good walking in. The space is an influencer's dream too, with plenty of spots to grab a great photo. The staff was amazing. From the hostess who gave some great recommendations to our waitress who steered us toward the Street Waffle we're still talking about. They really went above and beyond, which is rare to find these days. The food was a HIT! The Street Waffle was crisp on the outside, light and fluffy inside, and just perfect with a little butter and syrup. We also tried the Dirty Diner Pie and Omelette, both delicious and full of flavor. Overall, it's a spot I'd definitely come back to -- perfect for brunch, drinks with friends, or grabbing a bite before catching a show. I could totally see this place fitting right in at Somerset or Birmingham.

I don't usually write reviews much anymore but last night our experience was so wonderful. We've been to mad nice lots of times, but last night the food, the ambience, the service was A1. Everyone so kind and made sure we were taken care of amazingly especially the two female bartenders they were lovely and always on it. Love love love mad nice, they were more than accommodating and we will be back soon. The pomodoro pasta Omgosh AMAZING. And cacio Pepe always great. The sparkling rose and matcha also wonderful. Everything was just on point and we so appreciate it especially after 3 other restaurants turning us down, mad nice really made our night by getting us in. They'll be our first choice now, it's hard to get out these days with twin babies, and they made our experience SO worth it! Thank you so much!!!! Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5

A lively, bright, Italian-inspired spot with a warm, welcoming energy from the moment you walk in. The hostess was fantastic, the room had plenty of tables, and the vibe felt alive without being chaotic. Smiling faces everywhere -- friendly staff and genuinely knowledgeable servers set the tone right away. The menu is broad and tempting, so naturally we had to sample a little of everything. We started with shishito peppers and grilled octopus, both absolutely outstanding. The Little Gem salad had a Caesar-style twist that worked beautifully, and the lobster salad they brought out for us was fresh, flavorful, and downright delicious. For pizza, we went with the Patate -- a bold choice with potato, Parmesan, and rosemary. Unexpected, a little wild, and surprisingly excellent. Main courses included agnolotti pasta, rotisserie chicken, and rib cap -- all cooked perfectly and worthy of a repeat order without hesitation. Service was top-notch from start to finish, and the manager Tatiana took exceptional care of us. A great experience all around and a place we'd gladly return to.

Mad Nice has a cafe on the rear end of it (with parking included!!!) The first dozen customers get a free bagel. The space is so cute and open and there is a big open table in the back that you can work at! The coffee is half off during happy hour and worth a yummy latte for $3. I would say I love the cafe more than the restaurant so worth the visit in the midtown area.

This has only been my second time here but I absolutely ADORE this restaurant! We came for brunch on our anniversary weekend and enjoyed our entire experience here! I love all the pinks and greens in there. The interior is so aesthetically pleasing! We were given an anniversary card which is super sweet! I'm grateful for the extra thought:) We both loved our coffees! We both were given little blondies with them. Which is so neat! I don't think of anything that could please me more than a sweet treat coming at the same time as my coffee. My bf ordered the Biscuit Sando and loved it! I took a bite and the biscuit tasted homemade and it was delicious. I ordered the Steak & Eggs Benedict. The poached egg and steak was sitting on top of croissant toast. Croissant. Toast. It was hands down one of the best Benedict's I've ever eaten. I loved the tanginess of the hollandaise too We shared a Street Waffle as a sweet treat... it was so yummy! I need the recipe haha We ended the brunch with a digestif but I'm not sure exactly what it was but it tasted amazing. Loved the atmosphere of this place, our server was incredible, & the food was delicious! Best time! Please check this place out! Loved the brunch and dinner is great too!

I went here with my friends for one of my friend's birthday and we had the best time! Everything from the ambience, the service, the vibes, the food, even the portions were really good. Our server's name was Elijah and he was wonderful!!! My friend had a lot of allergies and they were all accommodated without any issue. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try something new.

Valentine's day brunch here was awesome with all the pink decor! Didn't know it looks like that all the time but it was perfect. Had the dirty diner breakfast pizza and a cortado 10/10. Would recommend adding an extra egg to it. Food was a tiny bit delayed but server brought us a sourdough cinnamon roll on the house for the table.

From experience, not all breakfast sandwiches are created equal! I was skeptical from being disappointed in the past. I also ordered a side of hash browns because I wanted to see what they were like. I got the sandwich on Texas toast and let me tell you, it was fabulous! It was egg and cheese only and so good. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the hash browns were as well. They were cubed style, with some onions and spice to it. I topped it off with a dash of hot sauce and boom, there ya go folks, good stuff it is! My bill was about $8 give or take, I can't remember the exact amount. Overall, a good meal for a decent price. While the place isn't super fancy on the inside, it really made a good impression on me!

The vibe was there, the place was clean, the staff is friendly and that food!!! (Insert drool here) if you can't decide? Go to Babo! Yup. #fave.new.food

I assume there is a wait on weekends. Greeted by friendly staff quickly and offered a menu to pursue. Selections covered all the basic brunch items without being "too much." The ambience is warm and casual though ambient noise makes quiet conversation a challenge. Our server appeared to be newer and somewhat nervous so there was not much chitchat. Babo does not offer decaf coffee, a big disappointment. I settled for tea. The server was not aware of this decaf option until I asked. Our food came quickly although it was not super warm for either one of us. The syrup for the waffle was very cold, also a disappointment. Other than these two drawbacks, the flavors were wonderful and the pricing seems right in line for this area. Babo is a solid brunch choice in this are. We always look forward to our visits.

The waffle was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, however it had a sour taste to it almost like over fermented sourdough. They didn't give us enough syrup to help cover that flavor. The potatoes were very good, however they lacked seasoning. Adding salt would have helped tremendously. It would have been nice if they finished with salt, even if they didn't want to season it before hand, a little goes a long way when added as a final step when plated. The service was nice and they were friendly. The businesses at this location are listed as food trucks; however it is more like a food hall/mall. There are several food businesses at the location where they all offer walk up service packages to go. There is seating to eat there, however it isn't comfortable since there are stools with high legs but the tables are too low for your legs to fit under. You either have to eat with your legs spread wide or sit on the edge of the seat. Management needs to change it. Hopefully we will give it another try and hopefully the food will be better.

1st Shout out to Yelp, I read reviews b4 going to a restaurant. In this case I learned gratuity…read moreis included. I would have missed that Now... I was searching for a Restaurant that Truly supports a GF person So many say they are yet ( pre read their menus and nada) This was a test visit for guests that ARE ABSOLUTELY GF. I called for a Reservation. Oops no same day Res, yet I was told there was one Res left for 12:30 ( if We didn't make it the wait would NOT be long. We were a bit late yet our table was waiting for Us... This is a cozy scratch kitchen restaurant with a Greenwich Village vibe. Table seating for 16 bar seating for 3 Yet it didn't feel crowded. We were asked if it was our 1st time? Yes. Menu was fully explained and even b4 I could ask I was told what was always prepared GF and for other dishes what could be substituted...I purposely chose the GF waffles. May I say AWESOME. I had 1 suggestion....add the Tart cherry crafted jam that came with my husband's biscuit as an additional add on with the syrup. with the waffles I blended syrup and jam and. Then my Latte. I asked for a Hot cup. It was creamy smooth. If You can't have dairy ( and they asked) there's options. I signed up for the Rewards program and already have points and my next visit is already reserved.

I need not have worried; there was parking closer by. Oh well. The restaurant is tiny. And it maximizes the space by lining its walls with colorful bottles of wine, chic and cher containers of olive oil, and pots of artisanal honey hiding here and there. My friend pointed out the breathtakingly beautiful bouquet of dried flowers hanging over our table. I should have taken a photo when I had the chance. I started with the spiced brown sugar latte, made with oat milk. Delicious and sweeter than I thought. Even though the menu is small and curated, I could not decide between the nosh plate, the biscuit brekkie, or the quiche, which was the special of the day. So I ended up with the quiche but added the biscuit and bacon - I did not want to miss out. The crust of the quiche was fine, but the custard-like filling was divine, more like a savory crème brûlée or flan. Service was quick and efficient. Our reservation was made for one of the predefined 90-minute blocks, so the staff was on top of getting and delivering our meals and bussing tables as soon as they emptied to make room for the next group of guests.

There is absolutely nothing bad on the menu. There are so many delicious items, I have a hard time picking what I want since I want everything. First, I love their coffee. We came for lunch and I had already had my morning coffee, but we had not been here in so long, I needed my Original coffee fix and ended up having three more cups. Their coffee taste great all ways, black, with cream, with cream and sugar, so good! My child had a strawberry lemonade. They limit you to only one refill, but they were very kind and asked her if she was ready for her second cup. We love their specialties, which they do warn you takes extra long to bake, about twenty minutes, but it is always worth it. I ended up getting the baby Dutch garden, which is baked. It is so good, so underrated, I love this one every time. It is like an omelette inside a German pancake. It is perfection. I always also need something sweet, so I got a half order of blueberry pancakes. The batter is so good and they give you a side of blueberries in syrup. My child got the baked apple. This is the most iconic treat and a must order if you have never been here before. Again, it is baked sugar, apples and cinnamon inside a German pancake. We both had leftovers. So, each of our meals was like two meals. My husband got the broccoli and cheese omelette and a side of chocolate chip pancakes. They have hands down the best chocolate chip pancakes in the area and their omelettes are so fluffy and delicious. Personally, when I get their omelette, I get the spinach and cheddar which is amazing. Other items I love include the 49ers. Those are the best pancakes, they are a hybrid crepe and American pancake, and if you have never had one, you need to try them, they are ginormous. Their buckwheat pancakes are also so good. Their orange juice is typically fresh squeezed and worth ordering, and there are so many other items I have never tried because I do not have enough room in my stomach. This is a must try for everyone. There is usually a long line, but it tends to go quickly. Service is always friendly.

I have never been to any of the other locations as this was me visiting across from the states, but wow! It's small and cozy, but cool to hang with friends. I can most definitely tell a lot of young and college kids would enjoy this place. Food was amazing. Came for just some boba tea/dessert and seen this fire menu! So I seen chicken wings and of course I had to try them. I chose the seaweed and it was an excellent choice. And the best part is they were all flats. I need to try the rest of the menu. Staff was nice and everyone walked together. Almost like it was family owned and operated. Everyone was nice.
