I was enticed by the concept behind Morelia's, and it did not disappoint. Not only is the food high-quality, it's fairly priced, as well. Since fried chicken is Morelia's specialty, I ordered three dishes featuring it: the Caesar salad, the chicken parm "sangwich," and the Italian fried chicken combo. The Caesar salad offered a generous amount of chicken, which was fried to perfection. The chicken parm sub was a beast of a sandwich. It had just the right amount of sauce, and the parsley tied all the flavors together. My favorite part of the meal was the Italian fried chicken combo. I chose piccata as my sauce and baked ziti as my side. The piccata had a distinctive lemon flavor, and the capers were a nice touch. As for the ziti, the cheese on top was delicious, and the pork-based sauce hit both sweet and savory notes. For dessert, zeppoles are currently the only option, but they're a great one. These had a noticeable hint of ricotta in them. Since my first visit, I've thought about going back to Morelia's multiple times. I'm intrigued by the other options on the menu, and look forward to trying them soon.

Fantastic addition to the casual lunch scene in the area! A friend and I split the MIFC and Chicken Parm sandwiches, and I really enjoyed both but slightly liked the MIFC better. Can't wait to comeback when they have Porchetta! The owner is friendly, and the place is clean and cozy. Will definitely be back!

Wow! Hit this spot twice in a week. First I got a sandwich and second the meal! Parking is interesting since no designated lot and Woodward is on a parking diet. And this is mostly a grab and go spot. They do have limited seating and you can stay if you want. Had the meal with piccata sauce and it was delish! Had a side salad and found the salad dressing to be great also! Friend had the bowl and it was rich and amazing. Had a sandwich sans cheese and it was great- yes, even without cheese things can be tasty. Great spot for a quick (ish) bite.

Something new and unique finally! What nice twist to chicken. The Italian chicken is prepared as a cutlet, they have lots to choose from. Salads, bowls, and sandwiches as well as meals. We ordered the chicken parm sandwich which is more than enough to split. The Bowl with a pork ragu and mascarpone polenta delicious! And last but not least the ricotta donut holes. They have a few small tables inside to eat but it's more than likely you would want to carry this out. The staff was kind, efficient, he took the time to explain to me the entire menu this is definitely going to be a gold mine for Ferndale make sure that you support this business it's just the soft opening now but when the grand opening hits you probably won't be able to get into the door.

I appreciate the condensed menu and focusing on doing one thing in an unusual and special way. Friendly staff.

This food is insane- I could eat it every week. Don't skip out on the zeppole! We will definitely be back.

Thin and crispy fried chicken with your choice of sauces. The piccante sauce was the best I have ever had!

What can I say about Morelli's Fried Chicken? The chicken is pounded thin and cooked to absolute perfection -- crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. The Parmesan chicken sandwich was awesome -- the sauce, the bread, everything was just right. We also tried the pork bowl (so good!), the Brussels sprout salad (super tasty!), and the donut bites... my daughter practically ate the whole bag! Service was fantastic, food was incredible -- definitely a new favorite spot.

Outstanding food, every single item we ordered tasted like it was made with love and by people who know exactly what they're doing. Friendly service and great prices. We already can't wait to visit again soon!

The zucchini fritters are definitely a must try! The chicken parm sandwiches were juicy, flavorful, and generous in portion. Fresh tri color salad and great service. Drinks are a bit pricey, but overall a great no frills spot worth returning to!

These sandwiches are huge!! You could easily split one between two people. Tried the classic chicken parm and the MIFC, both different flavors and equally delicious. Ordered the shaved Brussels and see the appeal but not for me. The only critique I'd made is both needed a little bit of salt. Otherwise, everything was hot, fresh and delicious! Looking forward to our next visit.

My daughter didn't care for the pasta as it tasted very strongly of garlic, but the texture was amazing and the portion size was filling. The pizza was so good!! It was just the right amount of crispy, chewy, cheesy, and saucy. The chopped salad was the hit of the night and plenty big enough to share. Our server was great and I loved the interior, my only complaint would be that it was so loud.

The way our table was set up was not convenient, we were by the wall with one entrance point, so the people on the booth side, had a long way to slide in and out with 6 people to a side. The restaurant was not busy and the service was slow and inattentive. Sometimes it seems that when the tip is included for a large group, the server doesn't feel the need to exert any effort. For the most part, everyone enjoyed their food. The lobster avocado toast was the standout. I had the farmers veggie skillet and it was just ok: Eggs were barely cooked and the potatoes were over cooked and dry. I did like the cheesy veggies. As a final note, any restaurant that can't split a check in our day and age, loses points for me.

It was a bunch of things I would never think to put together (the brisket, orzo "mac" and cheese, fried onions & molasses bbq sauce) and it was really good. If their menu prices were lower, I could understand it, but with entrees at $20 - $40, I would expect at least a piece of bread and an accompanying vegetable.

It's great for a casual date or a nice meal with friends. We started with the bread board which was alright. I think they described the bread as focaccia, so I was expecting a bread with more of a crunchy crust and the classic dimples on top. However, this bread was fluffy and soft, but it was still very good. I'm not sure if I would get it again since it felt like a bread board I could put together at home. I preferred the bruschetta we got last time. For my entree, I went with the chicken parm which was very good. The chicken was coated well and the sauce was delicious. Overall, this is a great spot for Italian food in Royal Oak, and we'll be back for future date nights.

The inside of this place looks amazing and the outside patio is even nicer, this is a very romantic looking restaurant. We went here for my wife's birthday and thought I would treat her to a nice restaurant for dinner and that's exactly what it was. Now the way their ordering process goes is a little confusing, I don't know if it was our waitress or it's just how things go but we ordered our drinks and then after they came Out with our drinks then they asked if we wanted an appetizer then after that came out they asked if we wanted a meal, so like I said I don't know if that's how they do it or it was just our waitress. So we ordered our drinks and I had a Smoked Old Fashioned, anywhere I go if I see that cocktail on the menu I order it, when it came out they had the smoke infuser on it and when they took it off the smoke just bellowed out, it tasted amazing, I have to say that it was a really good old fashioned. For an appetizer I had the Caesar Salad which tasted fresh, crunchy and just refreshing, the cheese was delicious and the dressing was really good. Next I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken added and it was very delicious, the noodles were soft, the chicken was delectable and the sauce was very flavorful. Everything from the ambience to the food here was flawless with the exception of some older gentleman that didn't stop talking the WHOLE time we were there, nothing we could do about that but everything was perfect and I would love to come back and try other meals. So a few things to point out is they offer valet parking for $12, they offer brunch & Breakfast every Saturday & Sunday and on the bill they add Gratuity (20%) on there already just so you know before heading there, most people freak out about not knowing this and I am here to tell you it is added, however, the food was worth every bit of it.

We were there for a special occasion (I added that to the reservation note); not the biggest deal, but we weren't asked about that at all. The drinks were decent, but not the best, and the same was true for the food. Some dishes were pretty good, including my husband's chicken parmesan, but others could have been better. We also tried the crème brûlée cheesecake for dessert, which was pretty good, but the brûlée top was gummy rather than crackable. Additionally, the plates themselves were somewhat hard to eat from as aesthetics seemed to come before functionality. No spoons set with the flatware, either, which should be standard for an Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was good, and server was friendly, but service was a bit spotty for a relatively slow night. However, food and drinks arrived quickly. Our water glasses were not ever topped off, and when the busser did come by, the wrong plates were taken away; bread and oil were removed and our dirty/empty dishes left behind at the table. So, it was decent, but not quite the fine dining experience it purports to be. Hopefully it will get there, because it is a cool spot.

All were medium-small plates but were flavor-packed without being overly-salty or saucy, which I appreciated. The cheese pizza surprisingly was the winner. The shrimp pasta was actually spicy, so be aware as there were some jalapeños, but it was a pleasant spice and was not overwhelming. I did not expect this but it wasn't bad, but maybe would have liked the warning. The Beef pasta was great with nice shredded beef with red sauce and square pasta that you could tell was home made. Pistachio cheesecake was a little off in that it didn't really taste like pistachio and was a bit sweet and artificial to me. Service: attentive. Waitress was nice and handled all my questions. I also ordered Carbonara because I was craving that and didn't want to make it at home. They put CREAM in their Carbonara, which is a culinary SIN. They might know how to make fresh pasta, which is easy, but to destroy that dish by adding cream shows they have zero skills with regard to Carbonara. The silkiness of the sauce is created by adding small amounts of pasta water, parmesan, stirring constantly until it's creamy. Suffice to say, I won't be dining in their restaurant.
