Spin doctors-Garlic oil, mozzarella, spinach, dates, bacon, goat cheese

Simply amazing. I had the Pie-Sci when I worked in Detroit but that was 5 years ago. Now there's one in Oak Park! Green Lantern Pizza has a competitor! This is the best pizza I've had this year. 6/5 went above and beyond. We got: Spin Doctors - 5/5 Spectacular! Cheesebread 3/5 too doughy and slightly bland Take Bahn Mi 6/5 - simply incredible, it was like eating a Bahn Mi. Pep Squad - 4/5 - delicious and well made.

Dry and flavorless!

I ordered pizza tonight because I didn't feel like cooking. Stopped in Oak Park Pie Sci I got a meat lovers pizza with jalapeño peppers. I must say that I was very disappointed. The pizza is dry like cardboard. It lacked sauce cheese and was very skimpy with the toppings. For my first time I will say that I will not visit again.

Good service this is a small pick up only pizza place but I consider myself a pizza connoisseur and after seeing this place was rated among the top Detroit pizza places I was intrigued. Needless to say i was disappointed in the pizza and breadsticks compared to others that were rated among the top the pizza lacked flavor and toppings and the cheesy bread was dry

Having been a previous patron of the Detroit location, I was psyched to try this place! I know they recently opened and wanted to wait a bit before coming, but tonight was the night. I ordered online and I found the add on descriptions slightly confusing. I had to call to ask about what VAL honey is (it's "hot" honey, more on that in a minute) and instead of the normal "light, normal, extra" options, it's small or large drizzle with zero clarification about what that even looks like. They also don't specify how many slices are in each pizza size. The other issue I had is that they offer option to get text updates but I got none. Obviously, I was hungry and it estimated at least an hour which seemed like a long time considering how late it was. But, I figured it's Friday so that's probably why. I got there and it was ready, but for who knows how long? I eventually got a text long after I was home saying it was ready. Might be worth reworking this system. I got the square pizza, and it's actually cooked perfectly. Expensive to add each item but that's about the standard now. Their "hot honey" isn't super great but it's definitely spicy! I was hoping it would actually taste like honey but it really is just sriracha. Breadsticks were hard and tasted like pita chips more than anything and they don't automatically offer pizza sauce as a dipping sauce (why?) so I elected to get the garlic cream cheese. However, it was almost frozen even with the 10 min drive home. Disappointing. Overall, I don't think that I'll be back for awhile. I'm sure they have some kinks to work out and hopefully they'll do that.

The oak park location is carry out only, and no brunch specials, but other than that the formula hasn't changed.

I'm trying to refrain from using too many superlatives in my reviews. When it comes to this pizza…read morerestaurant, I'm not sure what to say. That doesn't involve any superlatives. This is really delicious pizza. We are blessed in this area with a lot of great Pizza, and obviously a lot of great Detroit style Pizza, however, this place does set the bar very high. It's obvious the ingredients are fresh and it's equally obvious that those that prepare this Pizza really care about what they're doing. They also have some really good gelato! This place is well worth it.

Second time trying this place and I like how they are consistent. Be aware though, they will sell out closer to closing time, so order earlier. My biggest complaint is that the edges of the deep dish are pretty stiff so it scratched up the roof of my mouth pretty good. Which I get the texture might be a part of the appeal but my mouth didn't appreciate it the next day. Now onto what we ordered (we had a pizza party btw, didn't order this all for myself). My favorite was the Carne Supreme - great take on a meatlovers pizza. Perfect amount of meat and the marinara on top helps cut through the richness of the protein. I'm also a fan of the sausage they used, way better than the typical Italian sausage you see on pizzas. Next up is the Hot Honey Ricotta-roni - it's a good hot honey pizza. The ricotta is nice and on the lighter side, wish there was more basil, and the heat from the hot honey was spot on. My third favorite was the Maui Wowi - I like some heat and the jalapenos were just the right amount. The BBQ sauce added some sweet to it, but it felt like an overwhelming amount to the point that I couldn't taste the ham underneath. Lastly the Maui - felt like a good Hawaiian pizza. Nothing special, I did like the contrast between the acidity from the marinara and pineapples to the ham. Overall a good pizza joint. Will order again some time after the roof of my mouth's healed. Worth trying!

Upon entering, the staffer explained the set-up to enjoy a variety of beers, poured and priced by the volume. Located at the back of the restaurant, customers can select beer flavors and serve themselves, no bartender needed. A tab is started and charged based on usage, tracked through the wristband provided to you. I ordered over mobile via a QR code, selecting pretzel sticks with beer cheese dip and a large, Detroit-style pizza. The soft pretzels were tender with a lovely crusty exterior. I inhaled the first pretzel since it was past lunchtime, savoring the salty, cheesy bites. I must admit, the pretzels' saltiness temporarily affected my taste buds because the pizza had little flavor, even with the pepperoni, sausage, and olives. I definitely did not taste the hot honey drizzle. I want to praise the light, airy crust. For a deep dish pizza, it did not sit heavy in my tummy. I also appreciated that the pizza was served on a rack, to allow air circulation and to prevent sogginess. The space was dark and had both large communal tables and smaller, intimate tables. This allowed for larger groups to enjoy community beyond a friend group. The other plus is the board games that are available to pass the time while enjoying various beers.

Louis is the best Detroit style pizza in Metro Detroit…read more The crust is soft and doughy in the best way possible but still retains a nice crunch on the edge, the amount of cheese is generous, and the toppings are almost marinaded in the deliciously sweet pizza sauce. The result is a mouthwatering pie-like pizza that you're not getting anywhere else. If you want a lot of topping options, Louis isn't for you, it's far more limited than competitors, but I would argue they perfect the basics. The interior is charming in a straight out of the 1970s sort of way. The dining area can get pretty loud but the noise level is friendly and it's great being in a full restaurant surrounded by other people having a good time. There's a strong community feeling you don't get in sterile, corporate chains or local takeout spots. Despite my overwhelming praise for the pizzas they make, I also have to be honest. In the most charitable way possible, I hope that they can take some of their much deserved recent success and reinvest it back into the business because the front of house staff is regularly in over their heads. You can safely add 15 minutes to whatever time they quote you when placing your order. I had one order that was close to 30 minutes late and another that was missing all the extra sauces. As a result, pickup orders are very frustrating. The other criticism I have is that the parking lot is very crowded and routinely spills out into the surrounding streets. The lot size is limited, so not much they can do but they could work with the city to repave the lot and color label certain areas. I hope more people check out Louis. It is a gem.

I got the "burnt orange espresso tonic" and a "rosemary biscuit". Both were amazing. The biscuit was warm and buttery and the included jam (which appeared house made) was the perfect compliment. The flavors were all distinct but complimentary and made this into a spectacular treat. The espresso tonic is the best I've had. The flavor was fresh, light and fruity, with the bitterness of the coffee keeping it grounded and sophisticated. I even ate the orange slice at the end. The wait for my drink was probably about 7-10 minutes but knowing that in the future, I'm willing to plan around if the product is going to be this good.
