    Detroit style pizza and ranch
    Sarah S.

If you want a sampling of good beer, cheesy Detroit style pizza, and top tier house made ranch, stop in to Elephant & Co. The beer is self serve by the ounce with a bracelet with plenty of beers from EMB and Ferndale Project. There are tables with chairs, then there are the long picnic table styled seating areas. Everything was delicious!

No this place was surprisingly not it for me I've been to the other location. It's much cleaner. This place was so NOT what I thought it was. The guy behind the counter and the register picked his nose while we waited for our pizza, which immediately gross me out. The place was not clean and very empty. He brought out our pizza which we couldn't eat because we couldn't stop thinking how he was just picking his nose at the register before bringing our pizza to the table. My son got nauseous and threw up in the bathroom. We left immediately. This place is also smaller than the other location . Never would return.

One of the best pizzas I have had in metro Detroit. The Elote pizza is a phenomenal option that you likely won't get anywhere else. You can't go wrong with their other options like the spicy pepperoni or meat sweats. For your convenience they have all of their beer on tap to help yourself or you can pick up some cans to take home with you. They also have trivia available on Tuesday nights to bring a group along and enjoy the night! Come a little early to secure a spot because this gem of restaurant is getting very popular

Stupidly good pizza. The elote returns is unlike any pizza I have ever had before. The crust is perfectly crispy. I would pass on the pretzels in future, the beer cheese didn't have a lot of flavor. They have trivia on Tuesdays, which was fun. My biggest surprise was the acoustics. Most places like that are loud but this place you can easily enjoy a convo with your table even when super busy. Other downside is the communal tables. Overall though great spot!!

Service was very friendly and helpful. It was are first time here so the walked us through how everything worked. Great Wall of craft beers. The pour your own and pay per ounce was great. Allows you to try before you commit to a beer. Seating was community style long picnic tables. Tv made it a great place to catch a game. The food was amazing. Some of the best Detroit style pizza hands down. Better than Shields and Buddy's for sure. Will definitely return.

Came on Dream Cruise weekend (Sunday around 2pm) there were only a few people in the place - not sure if that's how Sundays normally are or if it was because of the cruise. Tried the chicken salad sandwich and garlic parm fries. Both were really good. Self serve beer wall, water for non-beer drinkers. I'm not a huge beer lover but I tried a pineapple ale and a cherry sour, both were yummy. First glass I pulled to fill had lipstick prints on it so maybe a washing issue? Grabbed another one and it was lip print free. Music was loud for the big space and maybe it seemed louder because it was pretty empty inside?

PSA: before summer is over, get yourself to the Royal Oak location, secure a seat on the patio, boop the beer dispensing machine for something really refreshing, and mow down on the chicken salad sandwich + parm fries. It is absolutely perfect in every way. It's on a house-made PRETZEL for goodness sake. Okay. That's all.

We had a great time. Cool experience. Tasted a few of the taps. The strawberry wine and cherry craft were my favorites. The pizza was delicious; I had the pear one. We also tried pepperoni pizza and the sauce has a bit of heat to it. They didn't have anything non alcoholic but water and kombucha...definitely need lemonade or fruit punch or something. The music was good too. Looking forward to visiting during the warmer months; the outside area looked very nice! Service was great; very attentive and explained the process.

Awesome spot! Great beers and pizza was fire!!!! Went to the RO Location. Atmosphere, Cleanliness, Decor, Food and Beer was all on point! The 32oz max was weird cause we were there for about 2 hours so. 2 pints each??

Very cool space! One of, if not the best Detroit style pizzas I have ever had. So much flavor, crisp crust, spicy pepperoni, perfect bake! The homemade ranch was also great!

Awesome self serve brewery with some of the best Detroit style pizza! I like the uniqueness of the fermentation of the crust, the pizzas loaded with cheese and taste amazing and they have some awesome pizzas to choose from!

First, Justin, at the desk, is ah. Maze. Ing. I have a weird allergy and called in advance. Justin himself took our order so that I would be safe. NO restaurant has ever done that so we're now loyal customers forever just for that. Second, the pizza is outstanding. We had the Magherita, the Fungi, and the Spicy Pepperoni and all were delish. The CRUST!!! Holy focaccia, it's magnificent The self tap beer is genius and easy to use. Mine was the orange and it was yummy. Be aware that tables are communal so you'll make friends. My one suggestion is to place the QR code stickers all along the tables. We had to reach over folks and that was awkward. For our 3 it was 6 thumbs way up!

A smorgasbord of beer!! What a great place, you get to pour your own beer! They have over 20 handles of draft beer to choose from. I tried 6 different styles of beer and settled on the Elephant IPA. Being a home brewer this kind of place is right up my alley!!! When you enter the building the sweat smell of pizza was so overwhelming that we decided to change our plans for dinner and stayed there to eat!! We ordered a cheese pizza and the spicy pepperoni!! It was outstanding! The employees were very helpful and kind!! We will definitely be coming back next time we come to Detroit!!

When the taproom is full the used glass rack drips old beer all over the floor, around the rack area. And it is very near the tapwall.

A hostess who takes your money and gives you a bracelet, automated beer, and you use your phone to order from the kitchen, they text you and you go get your food. I wondered many times how they could serve alcohol and not monitor how much people were drinking? So I asked. The host is in the front said at the end of 32 oz is your bracelet will not work and you need to come up and see me to reset it. I guess that's how they would monitor whether or not someone could get another 32 oz? I'm surprised not more places have copied their business layout. With the new generation, this would be the place to go, you barely have to speak to anyone except for the people you're with.
