I happened to order wings and tenders one night through a delivery service. They were really great, so we decided to try pizza from Uncle Andy's, too. We decided on their pizza and bread deal. We enjoyed a large pepperoni and cheese bread for $20. Great deal! The round pizza is the best we've tried since moving to the area. The crust is the perfect soft and crispy combo. The sauce is perfect, not to sweet, not to spicy. The pepperoni was fresh. The cheese bread only comes in square, but it didn't matter because it was delicious. The online ordering system was easy to use and the delivery was earlier than expected. The driver was very friendly. This will be our go-to pizza in the future. read more

This is the best pizza I have had in a very very long time. The food was so good, and I have tried multiple pizza spots in Detroit. It's so good and fresh and very cheesy. It was really good with the ranch on the side. I have ate here multiple times and everything is good on the menu. They had great customer service as well, the guy was super friendly. It was definitely a breath of fresh air when you walk in , it is a very welcoming establishment. If you want the best pizza you can find in Detroit, I would definitely recommend this pizza spot. They had texted me a coupon for a large pizza with 3 toppings and a full order of cheese stuffed bread for $15 last week and it was a great deal! Funny part was I was getting ready to place a pizza order at another restaurant. There were two problems with my experienced- one, was I completely forgot to tell them round or square and they never asked. It was defaulted to round which was such a bummer as I usually only ever order square :( pizza was still good but not exactly my preference. Second, the guy at the counter was pretty rude when I was picking up. It's been a while since I had such rude customer service especially when I was friendly and didn't complain about anything. Overall, pizza and cheese bread were good but honestly I wouldn't go back to this location. The troy location is much kinder and always asks square or round. Wow. This was my first time having Uncle Andy's pizza, and boy, let me tell you I have been missing out. This place is fantastic. I downloaded their app and placed my order. I ordered the New York lovers Pizza and BBQ wings and Two-liter mug Root Beer. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how great this pizza tasted. The Wings were outstanding. I was quite disappointed. They have the most amazing bread sticks but when it came to the pizza and wings, I'll pass. It just wasn't good and the chicken was rubbery. It would come in handy if you could come in Andy's. Might make up for them having no slices. They should really serve slices. At least at lunchtime! At least keep a couple around for when somebody really wants one. Because I do love their pizza and I've had it a couple times in the past and it's typical Detroit juicy thick greasy flavor full of deliciousness. I can't really swing by and order a whole pie when I'm shooting into town to have 10 different meals in a day. I dig Uncle Andy's. Can't recall whether I've ever ordered anything other than their square deep dish. But I keep going back to it, again and again, because it's so good. For those of you familiar with Jet's square deep dish (and if you're from SE Michigan then you surely are), Uncle Andy's is similar. Their deep dish pie is everything I like about Jet's without everything I don't like about Jet's. Comparable flavor with about half the grease. I actually prefer Uncle Andy's! Nobody else in my family does, which is why I'm ranking 4 stars instead of 5, but as long as I don't consult the fam before ordering... Uncle Andy's it is! FYI, they have a Mon/Tue special where you can get a large one-topping pie for $7.99. It's carryout only (unless you also order something else, as there is an $8 minimum order for delivery) but the $3 delivery charge--albeit fairly standard--would honestly render the great deal a not-so-good one. read more

We ordered a small specialty pizza for me because I like lots of toppings and a boring one topper for the husband and kid to share. I saw a bunch of reviews for Uncle Andy's and decided to give it a shot. It definitely is the more locally-owned and less-greasy version of Jet's in every way. The all-corner pizza was cooked to perfection and was big enough for several servings over a couple of days. The five-cheese bread was, indeed, delicious and I got every sauce recommended (garlic, ranch, and pizza sauce). I recommend either the ranch or garlic. I ordered a small tossed salad, large gf veggie with pepperconi and spinach added with Cajun crust and a large Hawaiian gf with Cajun crust and added jalapeños to it. I was told by the guy next to me that it's good pizza, in his top 5. We would see how it is. The base price with only cheese topping for a large was $17.99. Instead of each extra topping being $0.79. My total bill was $48.70. I had high expectations for this place for sure. The Hawaiian pizza was just okay, nothing special. Had their large one topping square deep dish pizza which was good. I liked it more than the Jets I last ordered at Berkley, MI which was a overcooked and the crust was too hard. The pizza here came out perfect at Uncle Andy's, just the right crunch for a deep dish and had plenty of cheese to provide just the right texture in every bite. 5 stars for service, my gf was held up and couldn't pick up the pizza until an hour later and a half later. They called me and told me they would make a new one fresh for us! Awesome and tasted much better than I expected. Update: so probably was good because it was fresh when we had it. Ok, so we've been here twice now so I feel I can accurately describe why this is a 5 star pizza joint (4.5 but let's round up to support the lil' guys!). First visit we ordered: 1) Large square half pepperoni & half vegetarian. This was on point with Green Lantern Pizza's and if you follow my #PizzaFriday's you already know we should own stock or have 2-3 loyalty cards completed! Like Jon B. mentioned, the fresh mushroom is perfect unlike the canned mushrooms from GL. 2) Cheesy Breadsticks: think calzone shaped filled with cheesy goodness and brushed with light garlic butter on the outside. Best served warm so the cheesyness yields maximum stringy pull apart cheese. The marinara isn't too sweet or acidic too. Second visit was prompted by my tweet they favorited after posting their Pizza goodness and also because we now live 0.4 miles down the street. Talk about eating local & supporting local! We ordered: 1) Large 8 corner square pizza half double pepperoni & black olives & half vegetarian. This was a winner! Like GL's Octopie, the edges were nicely cheesy-charred and you can ask to flavor the crust (which I always forget to....garlic butter I wanna drink you!). My fresh mushrooms weren't runny & the toppings to cheese ratio was perfect. 2) Triple Cheese Bread: BETTER THAN GREEN LANTERN's Lantern Bread! Got that? That's saying a whole lot! I love that GL's Lantern bread is fluffy & doughy but this Triple Cheese bread has mozzerella, cheddar and parmesan with a nice coat of garlic butter. It also comes as a deep dish square which is like a square cheese pizza without the marinara. But man it is crack. We loved, loved, loved it. And DF isn't one to dole out complements esp if they're better than his beloved GL. We have yet to try their round pizza and we might not, b/c if you know whatcha like (we love square pizza!), why mess with a good thing? We call Uncle Andy's Pizza by many names, Unkie A's, Uncle Andrew's, etc. but my friends and I agree that Uncle Andy's is the best pizza in the area. First, it's a local place which always helps in my book. I'd rather go here than to some giant chain. Second, they have fancy toppings like spinach, garlic and feta. Third, they have an amazing square, deep dish pizza. I can only attest to the square pizza because that's the only pizza I have had. However, it's phenomenal. It's got a good balance of deep dish pizza flavor without being greasy or too heavy. I compare it to Jet's pizza but without as much grease and with better toppings. The cheese bread is also very delicious and I always get the cheese bread. My only complaint is that Uncle Andy's is not open later. I don't blame them, but it seems that often I want pizza later than 10pm on a weekday. Overall, I think you should give Unkie A a chance and I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

Ordered a small Chicago Style Pizza with meat and green peppers. Yelp says Uncle Andy's delivers, but when you place an order on Uncle Andy's site, it says no delivery. I called them directly, and yes, they do deliver. My pizza arrived in about 30 minutes and it was hot. I'm originally from Chicago, so I'm a hard critic on Chicago-style pizza. This pizza was tasty, and substantial, but far from Duo's or Giadanno's. No real comparison, but a good, solid, fresh pizza. As a nice added touch, the crust is either packed to the edge with cheese or stuffed. Either way, I enjoyed 2 slices of a small and was super full. I imagine a small will last me 2 - 3 days, personally, and I am not a light eater by any stretch of the imagination. Lol. read more

My husband and I love this place! Their gluten free pizza and gluten free cheese bread are INCREDIBLE! My husband isn't even gluten free but we always order GF because I am, and it's one of his favorite pizzas ever, regardless of gluten. That's how good it is.
