I'm a huge pizza lover and this pizza is Bad. My husband is a garbage disposal and eats everything & he thought it was bad too. The "cheese bread" has a sea through layer of cheese that falls off when you try to pull the pieces apart. None of the sauces are made fresh. Everything comes packaged. We think it's good! Dough tastes fresh. We love the "old world" cupping pepperoni. We also love the Roma and garlic flavored crust. Wish their sides of marinara and ranch were fresh though. They're clearly mass-produced and then labeled with their name. Think the ranch is Hidden Valley and the marinara is too sweet. That's our only constructive criticism. The pizza was okay and it was pricey, so it deserves three stars. I think we paid about $20 for a large deluxe pizza. There are too many competitors in the Detroit-Metro area who offer better pizza. Our carry-out pizza had pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, and onions. We got this for dinner on the night before Thanksgiving and we had a coupon for free cheesy bread, which was good. The breakdown: the pizza had a good crust, good pepperoni, big pieces of good Italian sausage, which tasted more like meatballs, fresh green peppers and onions, but the mushrooms were from a can. Canned mushrooms are the worst! Also, our pizza was overflowing with toppings, which would have been fine if the cheese had been cooked longer-it wasn't melted in the center. The cheese wasn't anything special, but the sauce was delicious. It's obvious that they are getting their grand opening jitters out of the way. I walked into this location and I witnessed pure chaos. It looked like the workers weren't sure about how to do anything because they were panicking as they asked the cashier, who was helping me, for help. I believe the cashier was the manager. He was friendly and nice, but the kitchen was in disarray with toppings, boxes and napkins were cluttered all over the work stations. We will likely give them another shot since they just opened and hopefully we will receive a better pizza. After we moved to Royal Oak, we had to find a new pizza joint. We saw that a new Marco's was opening up nearby, so we thought to try it. And because we wanted to be objective in our selection, we had to try some of the other spots around town, including Perry's and Green Lantern. Both of these other pizza spots are good, but the final outcome is this: Marco's takes the gold. The pizza is great, their deals are the best, and the service is excellent. As an added bonus, the manager of this location, Wally, is a great human. I work up the street from Marco's and Wally popped in one day to drop off some coupons for the office. Nothing like getting deals on pizza pies. We are loyal to this pizza shop and would recommend anyone in Clawson and north Royal Oak to eat here. We ordered pizza from here last evening for the first time. I've heard about Marco's for years especially when I visited Georgia and always wanted to try it. We ordered The Works, took off the green peppers and added banana peppers in round. The pizza was amazing!!!!! So delicious, I love pizza and have very high standards when it comes to pizza. We ordered wings as well, we asked for them well done, they could have been cooked longer but we tossed them back in the oven at home, simple fix, they were good as well. One other thing, they are decidedly more expensive then other chains, even the deals. They are priced like Jets but the products are more of along the lines of Hungry Howies. Let's talk about Marcos. I was never a big pizza fan till they came to town now I literally crave it. I don't know what's going on over the last guessing going to say 3-4 months maybe longer maybe a little less their service has gone to hell. When I order my pizza it's the same six out of 10 times. I order no less than once a week often more. Last time I ordered my pizza it was wrong I simply called them to tell them they missed an item and the manager was a young punk and rather ignorant with me. At first he offered me a new pizza I told him no thank you I just would like the item they forgot next time. To make a long story short he tried tripping me up repeating what I normally get I said yes and he said there you didn't order it. He proceeded to hang up on me I called back he hung up on me again. I refuse to deal with little punks like that! Very unprofessional and uncalled for. Customer service like that is not acceptable I don't care how good their pizza is And their pizza is only that good if they listen and make it proper the first time. With all that being said I sent an email to corporate no reply called the store a couple times talk to different so-called managers maybe whole 18-years-old no proper response. One young man reached out and said he would have the owner call me It would take about 30 minutes well I'm still waiting for the owner to call me. I have met the owner in the past very nice man but it has been three weeks now and still no response So in the meantime I am enjoying several other pizzas from the neighborhood which there are many. I do miss their pizza when it is made properly but I will get over it if need be. We were hesitant to order from here because we have our favorite non chain pizza places here in royal oak. We decided to use the coupon, 2 mediums for 6.99 a piece and order. First off, the customer service was remarkable. Very friendly and when I came in to pay and pick it up, the man behind the counter opened the door for me, above and beyond. He showed me the pizza and offered me Parmesan cheese, crushed red pepper and mints. THe pizza was delicious and very well made. Not too much sauce, cheese and ingredients were good and it was hot. We are excited to try a few speciality pizzas now. Inside was VERY clean and had a few tables to dine in. It was air conditioned and just a really nice pizza place. Ordered an XL pizza, a Greek salad and an order of wings yesterday for lunch. The food was excellent as was the service. We knew the pizza would be good but we were surprised by the wings and salad. The wings were meaty, delicious and a great value. The salad was cold and fresh. I can see why Marco's receives so many national awards. I grew up in Ohio and had a Marcos a few blocks from my home and we'd get it all the time. When I moved away, I figured it was just a local joint and I'd never get it again. That was until I saw they opened one by me in Royal Oak. Had to do a double take just to make I wasn't dreaming I gladly tried it out and it instantly took me back to my childhood. It tasted exactly as I remembered it all those years ago. Hasn't cheapened out on the ingredients or in the amount they give you at all. Service is excellent as well, lots of good coupons available to get a good deal plus they give out pepper flakes which is a rarity in some chains now.
