Ordered 2x spicy pepperoni - even their employee agreed saying: "I agree. That is not 2x spicy pepp." This is the second time this happened to me. The salad was mediocre as well - the container wasn't filled and the toppings were light. The garbanzo beans looked like they just dumped the bottom of a can of them in there. Between the poorly topped pizza/salad, the coupons they send you that don't work (and don't reply to email about) -- and even the promotions they advertise that aren't on their website (Valentine's heart-shaped pizza)... it's just not worth it. Cloverleaf likes to say they are the "original Motor City Square," but it really doesn't seem like it. The reviews on Yelp prove it - ALL reviews since October 2022 are one star. The owner is a real tool! We came in with a party of 17. My friend and I got a drink at the bar when some guy told me I was annoying and needed to shut up. I asked him who are you? He told me it was his restaurant. Since I didn't drive I waited for my wife family and friends to finish up which took about 10 to 15 mins. Just to be met by the owner and some big burly guy. Just ordered a medium veggie pizza , sticks and sauce plus a small caesar salad with chicken. What a disappointment. Pizza looked and tasted old , certainly not fresh. I was excited to try Cloverleaf, I've been to the original on Gratiot. We loved the cheese bread! The pizza was good, but it was soggy on the bottom. Mixed review. I grew up on this pizza (original location) and have always thought it comparable to the other legendary Detroit squares. This location has always been solid if not up to some of the older ones. Our square was very good but our thin crusts weren't prepared as close to our instructions and generally lacked the care gone into the D-style. We asked for extra cheese and they were clearly not. Now, I didn't mind, but the kids had expectations of some gooey goodness and were severely disappointed in their almost lite cheese pizzas. Greek Salad was a little on the disheveled side, but dressing still one of the best. So, just not great execution. Aside from that, this is a pickup/delivery only place, no dine in. I ordered a thin crust bruschetta pizza and a antipasto salad. The pizza smelled so good once I got it in the car, I ate a slice right out of the box. It was SO good. The fresh basil, garlic and tomatoes topped with mozzarella smelled so good and tasted so fresh. The antipasto salad was delicious too, I saved half for my lunch tomorrow. I ordered a large pizza special on Monday night. The advertised web price was 9.99 for a large with one topping. My sister picked the pizza up on the way home and when she brought it home it was a small pizza that they charged $12 for. Since this was the third order that cloverleaf has gotten wrong, I decided to call. The manager was rude and cheap and refused to give us the large pizza that we ordered, which was all that we wanted. He also told us that there has been a price increase and so the advertised prices don't matter, that you'll pay whatever they say it currently is. Isn't there a Michigan law against that? Had a coupon for 2 smalls for $10. Went in and ordered before I had to run into the Dollar Tree in the same strip. The young lady at the counter was very friendly. She greeted us with a hello and a big smile. Looked like a person who enjoys life. She told us 15 minutes, so I zipped over to the other store got what I needed and headed back. The pizzas were ready and piping hot. A very good experience. We got one round one square. The round had the small pepperoni on it nice and curled. I have been eating cloverleaf pizza for over 50 years. this pizza was the worst pizza i have gotten anywhere, ever. it was as though they put the dough in the pan the night before, let it dry out, then added toppings, burned it and gave to me. the cheese bread was great, not overcooked, nor dry. This was the first pizza place we've tried since moving to the area, and I'm not sure I need to try another. We got the cheese bread, a round, and a square pizza. All three were near perfection. We got different toppings on half of each pizza so we would try various combinations. Placed an order last night using the preferred online order method. In my order requested extra sauce and well done. Knowing deep dish pizzas with additional toppings take a little longer to cook. When I got the food home we were shocked to open the box and find barley melted cheese and little to no sauce. Thinking that maybe the probably was just the deep dish pizza I opened the medium round pizza; the dough was barely browned. A half doughy deep dish and a hardly cooked traditional. If it hadn't been so rainy I would have returned the order. We cooked it in our over for another 15 minutes but even at that the taste was less than good and the quality sub par for others in the area. If I am going to eat Cloverleaf, it is usually at the main restaurant in Eastpointe. Recently, I was out by this location and we decided to order pizza for dinner. I have a gluten allergy, so I ordered the GF pizza. The GF pizza at the Eastpointe location is my favorite so I was looking forward to having it again at this location. I was very disappointed after the delivery when I discovered that it is not the same type of GF pizza. It was similar to other types of pizza places and I did not care for it at all. The dough was way too salty and much smaller than the main location which is comparable to a regular small size pizza. The pizza was just missing something, oh yea it was the sauce. However, after having the sauce provided with the bread, I'm not sure more sauce would have made it any better. After speaking with the young man at this location, I learned that this and the 22/Hayes location is ran by the same person as the original Cloverleaf. Believe it's the family of Gus. Was told the owner travels to these locations very often on a weekly basis. I like a place where the owner cares!! Called in my order on way home from airport. This was the first time I tried this location. I grew up in East Detroit and we went to the original Cloverleaf on Gratiot often. When I moved we continued driving 12 miles but the quality went down and we quit going. When I seen this place driving by, I was ordering the following week while on my way home from a trip. The pizza was great. Just like the original cloverleaf back in 1970. I had onion, green pepper, pepperoni, ham and bacon large pie. Sauce was great as was the crispy crust ends that Cloverleaf was famous for. I hope they continue the quality of EACH and EVERY pie in the future as I will be a loyal customer. Seems like every time I find a good Pizza, Chinese or Mexican place the quality eventually goes to hell . I hope it's not the case with this place. Visited on 6/19/14 at 1:00pm.
