What really stood out to me was the generous amount of cheese, the substantial weight of the pizza, and that perfectly crisp crust. It's rich, hearty, and exactly the kind of pizza you hope for when you're craving something substantial. The service was fantastic on both visits as well. My servers were friendly and attentive, and I also really enjoyed the old-school interior. It has that wonderfully dated, nostalgic feel that immediately brought me back to the good old days of going out to restaurants around Detroit as a kid. To me, that atmosphere is part of the charm. I went in for pickup as they won't deliver to the area that I stay due to; dare I say it, high crime. While the area is sketchy, and I don't blame them for staying away, I have never had an issue there. Regardless, I placed a phone order and started my 30 mile drive to grab the pie and go to the house. When I arrived; the pie was waiting; and it was hot and ready to go. I threw it in the car and embarked on my 2 mile drive back to the base. When I arrived at the house, it was still warm and I brought it inside and began to devour it. The pizza was very good. Doughy crust, delicious toppings, and ample cheese and sauce. I won't lie, I ate almost an entire large by myself. I've friend several pies while in the detroit area, pizza papalis is a fave, but I don't always have time for that drive. And that's a huge deep dish Chicago style pie.
