The antipasto has olives and peppers along with the usual suspects (people say it's more traditional) and the dressing doesn't have much vinager but it was great. The wings were a 7 (but like with pizza, we're kinda snobs) good hot sauce seemed homemade. Bottom line, absolutely terrific, really good food. We still put Loui's and Buddy's (Conant location ONLY) ahead but still outstanding. Oooh, almost forgot, didn't see this coming but it was a completely awesome bonus: complimentary breadsticks with (I assume) hot honey. Huge hit! In 2024 and 2025, Johnny Z's brought it back, collaborating with Full Rack Barbecue instead. I've also tried the cheese bread and the boneless wings. I've had the cheese bread twice now, and it's about what you'd expect it to be. I will say, the first time I had it was better than the second. I recommend getting the garlic butter dip. As for the wings, they were just okay, but I'd be willing to give them another try. All things considered, Johnny Z's is a solid, local pizza place, and is better than your typical pizza chain.

We ordered a large square pizza with two kinds of pepperoni, a large antipasto salad, and an order of lasagna. The pizza was like eating pizza when we were kids in the 1970s. It is a little sweet to counteract the natural acidic bite of the tomato. This complements the cheese and the pepperoni perfectly. The two-pepperoni combination is the best of both worlds. I love the cupped pepperoni, also old school, with the little pool of grease in the middle. The flat pepperoni is a little milder but still good. The salad was perfect. The lasagna was one of the best I have ever eaten. It has a rich meat sauce, is stuffed with ricotta cheese, and layered between perfectly cooked lasagna noodles. It is covered with mozzarella cheese and more meat sauce. It came out of the oven lightly browned and bubbling. It comes with a breadstick too, to sop up all the leftover meat sauce. It was so filling I only ate half of it. We have ordered multiple times since then, both pick up and delivery. Ron and George are always friendly on the phone or in person.
