This is definitely one of the best sit down pizza spots in the area. They have a variety of appetizers in addition to the pizzas, tv's with all the sports games on, and a nice patio that is perfect for a beautiful day. Service is also fantastic, every single staff member was so friendly. Started with the fried pickles. The breading on these took me by surprise. They are so flavorful and fresh. Highly recommend if you're a pickle fan. I've ordered the pizza for takeout before but it's 10 times better fresh. The best part is the crust! Every single bite is loaded with flavor from all the toppings, but there's a nice crunch there as well. And it surprisingly does not feel heavy. The crust is so light and airy. This is the second visit to this location - we really like their pizza! We also got the antipasto salad, which was a nice starter before the pizza arrived. Our server was really good - we were a larger group so she kept things nicely organized and was fine with separating our bills by couple. The mood here is very casual with a weekend bar vibe. Good representative of Detroit style pizza. I do prefer more sauce like Buddy's or Lou's. Edges are crispy which is one of the main factor and they do it right. It is comfortable setting to enjoy a couple slice of pizza or whatever else you want on the menu. Next time I just make sure I get more sauce on my pizza order. read more

Detroit style pizza that's very light on the sauce, which I initially thought I'd appreciate because Im not the biggest tomato sauce fan. Pizza was tasty but it did taste different without the stream of tomato sauce. So maybe I'm a bigger fan than I thought I was... Pizza came out hot! Toppings were generous. Service was attentive. I had been hearing about this spot and so I finally came to check it out. I almost missed it driving up 12 mile road lol. There is a parking lot and it was full of cars but it was a Saturday evening. Once inside we were immediately seated and yes there is a full bar! They also have Club Keno you can play and several tv's to watch sports. Service was good and our food came out in timely manner and hot! The pizza is so good, the salad and wings were good(I forgot to snap a pic), only thing the wings were small. I'm addicted to their Lantern bread and ranch. I love that you can pick on the app, or in the restaurant if you want it light-baked (my preference), or well-baked. I do not, however, recommend the French Onion Soup. It tasted like crouton water. The service is always good, both sit-down and to-go, I've never felt like I waited too long for attention from the staff. Their seating is lackluster. The chairs feel awkward when you sit in them, and 3 of the 4 tables I've sat at are wobbly, which is so annoying. I work right around the corner from this joint, so I come here often. read more

I have been enjoying the outdoor patio and trying everything on the menu. Their pizza is amazing, but so is EVERYTHING on their menu! Wow!! So impressed. I love their reuben egg rolls. Their corned beef is incredibly tender. Their reuben sandwich is very special and their coleslaw is homemade. The candied bacon is a real treat. The burgers are very tender and tasty too. The Tater tots are crispy and awesome. The fried pickles have a nice batter. The cocktails are strong and tasty! You can't go wrong with anything on this menu. Excellent service too. Is it strange that a pizza restaurant has the same name as a super hero? I have no idea what is special about the Green Lantern superhero, but the square pizza style in Detroit is special and the deep dish pan makes corners that are easier to hold than round crust. It was definitely an enjoyable experience which I would recommend to anyone visiting. read more

Think I found my new favorite pizza place! Green Lantern has been on my list of places to try and I'm super stoked that I finally made it here for some pizzalicious lunch. Inside was very clean and inviting. The fresh smells of pizza filled the air, and I was ready to shove my face! Our waitress was literally one of the friendliest I've ever had anywhere. I'd for sure go back for that type of service alone. Now for the star of the show....the PIZZA was AMAZING! The right amount of sauce/cheese/veggie ratio, crispy buttery crust for the perfect fold. It doesn't get much better than that. The Lantern Bread, and Homemade Pickles were 5 star as well. Craving it all right now just from posting the pics. Windows open on a very nice night set the stage for a nice family dinner. Service was incredibly slow for a restaurant half empty at 5:30pm. We waited 20 minutes to get 4 soda's a beer and a water. The waitress took our order and 60 minutes later we were service the appetizer and salad. 20 minutes after that we had our pizza. Drink refills were challenging. The food was good as always. It was clear (at least to us) that the serving staff couldn't care less if we were eating there or somewhere else. Next time, it will be somewhere else. read more

I have been getting Green Lantern takeout for years, primarily from the Royal Oak takeout-only location, and I've also been to the dine-in Madison Heights location a few times. GL's Berkley location is new-ish, as it opened in early 2020 right before the pandemic, and it reflected it; it was nice and modern, and huge! A friend and I went here yesterday around 6:30pm on a Friday, so I expected it to be packed. Their parking lot was overflowing so we ended up parking on the street next to it. However, we were seated immediately, which was nice. We got the candied bacon to share (soooo good; it comes with five pieces on skewers) and a small John's pizza (mushroom, pepperoni, green pepper). Tip: ask for the round DEEP DISH pizza ... yes, I said that correctly. GL is the only place I know of that does this, and it's not on the menu. My guess is that they stack two round crusts on top of each other, and it's extremely filling (and also, no upcharge, I believe!). I only had one piece of the pizza, because of that, and took the rest home. Waitservice was overall good, too, although we did have to ask a few times for things; I'm assuming since it was so busy. My friend also asked for ranch to go with her pizza (#Midwest, lol) and I noticed there was no upcharge for that either, which was nice. Bathrooms are located near the front of the restaurant, next to the takeout area, and were clean. Definitely will be coming back to this location again, it has it all over the MH location! read more
