I was hosting about 16 out of town employees plus another 20 and wanted to treat them to Detroit style pizza. I was debating between GL & B's. I went with GL bc they could deliver when I needed them and I found a coupon. They were delivered a few minutes early and they looked fantastic!! I chose five different varieties and there was not a single complaint! Everyone loved the pizzas. They were baked to perfection, crisp bottom crust, bubbly, soft centers. Cheese, sauce and topping ratios were great! Plenty of meats, veggies, and yes, sweet pineapple!! Even with all the meats, they were not greasy! I'll return again without question! They did not have the drinks said they were out yet charged the same amount and did not offer a discount. Green Lantern is INTENTIONALLY cheating the customer and I will be reporting them to the BBB! Seven years later, so it's time to update this review. This is the closest location to where I live... Only about a five-minute drive. We got takeout tonight because they sent me a free small one-topping pizza for my birthday (which is intriguing, because I don't see anywhere to put in your birthday when you sign up for the eclub... But I digress...). I was able to actually order a two-topping pizza and just pay the difference, which was a little over a dollar. We got pepperoni and mushroom. As others have mentioned on here, they use canned mushrooms, which is a bit disappointing, but not a big deal overall. What differentiates Green Lantern from the other area pizza places for me is that they offer round deep dish pizza, which is very unusual. It's almost like they take two crusts and put one on top of the other, and it's delicious; tonight's was no exception. Their pizzas are a little pricey, which is why I don't order them very often, but they are always very tasty. Since my first review, I've been to this location a few times for takeout (it's takeout-only), and they're usually very prompt. It looked like all of the employees were wearing their masks (correctly), as well, which is definitely a plus. read more

I'll start by saying Green Lantern is my favorite pizza - anywhere. This is the fifth time in a row (ordering from Royal Oak) that I ordered my food and even waited longer than the website said. I went to pick it up and had to wait 15 MORE minutes for my order. My wait times have ranged from 15 to 40 minutes AFTER my food was supposed to be ready. It's unfortunate that GLP is literally at the end of my street. I can get my pizza faster driving to their Madison Heights store, but there are dozens of other pizza options between my house and there. read more

Wow!!!! What a great way to end the night, Green Lantern for the win. I was invited over a friend's house for game night, let's just say I am the JENGA champ, don't be jealous! We had been out hopping around earlier and by this time, we were starving, but it was getting late and we didn't want to drive. I'm not familiar with this area for take out, but my friend suggested Green Lantern. Typically, I love pepperoni on my pizza, but my friend doesn't eat meat. He ordered a veggie pizza with pineapple! It was fantastic! There's something about the sweetness of pineapple that truly balances out a pizza. I love ranch for dipping, but I was introduced to a sweet & spicy sauce that was amazing on the pizza. I'm most certainly going to buy it. One of the top ten pizza names in metro Detroit. We love the Madison restaurant and try to stop in when we're in town. Sometimes we have to settle for a delivery order from here. Number one. No matter if it's wings or pie, start with the Lantern Bread. Crazy good. I like the cheese, the garlic and the fact it's always done right. Know that the pizza is so good, it challenges your willpower. Not burned but charred in the right places. The sauce and cheese really make it stand out. They are famous for the thick pepperoni, which I don't care for but you should try. Too much punch for me. They give you a generous amount of whatever topping you request and the other toppings work well for me. The only real disappointment was they didn't have two liter cola. So it was pizza and coffee (the hotel had plenty of that). It was a nice convenience that the delivery guy brought it right to the room. 9/19. read more

I was picking up a pizza, and something happened to the ticket in the prep area, in which there was a delay. When one of the employees came to the front of house to tell me, before I even had the opportunity to say it was fine and not to worry about it, he said he was voiding the order and the pizza was on the house. I so want to love this place, it's voted one of the best pizzas in the metropolitan area for years. I tried to give them another go, since even my colleagues in Dearborn heard it was the best. I tried it a while ago, hoping things might have improved. Is it me, I feel the better pizza for me comes out of their carry out location on Rochester. Not sure why. But I tend to prefer the pizza from here, maybe because there's no server and less cost for a pizza? The veggie pizza I get here is already $15 for 5 veggie topping, but that's not enough and of course to get all of the toppings I want, it ends up being closer to $20. This is for the medium pizza, the large, which was more than I needed starts at the base price of $18 and then I end up adding 2 more veggie toppings to it. Pizza here isn't bad, kind of pricey, but then again everything is fresh. read more

Counter Help Kept Touching Crotch While Serving Customers Can never order from Green Lantern again due to health and hygiene concerns with their counter staff and the lack of even the manager's empathy toward his customers who pay for his busines. I just left the location on Rochester Road in Royal Oak where the counter person (waiting on customers) was continuously touching his crotch. I told him to get the manager. Manager came out, told me he'd take care of it and left the kid on the counter duty not even making the kid wash his hands. Obviously not a very classy establishment. The kid was wearing gray sweatpants and didn't seem to think his behavior was a problem (Who raises kids nowadays?) Nor did the manager. Maybe osha or board of health will be concerned, they usually frown on contamination of food being served to the customers. read more
