Terrible customer service. Have trouble changing their glove when serving food and taking money. My change came with a side of sauce.

My husband was in the area for work and I asked him to pick up an unbaked pizza to go for dinner that night. He also got a couple of pizza rolls. Everything was pretty good, but not my favorite when compared to other Italian bakeries in the area. I grew up on another side of town so I had a different go to spot so this was my first experience with Capri. I would definitely stop in again, though! Our pizza was a nice size and very filling. The crust was good but a little soggy. Perhaps it was our oven but we baked it longer than the instructions indicated to the point where the top was getting a little overdone and the crust still felt a little soggy. I may need to position the rack a little lower in the oven to get it to crisp up a bit more. As for the pizza rolls? They were great! They're a bit smaller than others I've had locally but I actually liked that. They weren't overfilling and they pepperoni to cheese to bread ratio was really good. The cheese melted perfectly in the microwave and they weren't super greasy. They run out of stuff pretty quickly tho so make sure you get there early! read more

Went to get some pizza rolls that I saw a photo of online. They looked so good in the picture. But when I ate one I was disappointed that it was nothing like the photo. They really skimp on the ingredients. There were not many pieces of pepperoni, not much cheese and the sauce was almost nonexistent. The bread is very good but I don't think I'll go back again. This is where I used to go once a week for their pizza and pepperoni and sometimes meatball and cheese rolls, if I was feeling quite hungry. The rolls are pack filled and so unbelievably filling and toasty warm. I don't eat as much carbs and don't eat as much gluten so it's not a place I frequent much anymore. It's a great lunch spot and is always busy, usually a line during core lunch hours. It's that popular and is legit. BEST pizza rolls that I've ever had, however their hidden gem are their meatball subs with extra cheese. Words cannot describe how tasty these hot (almost like magma hot, so open them up prior to biting in) cheesy, gooey, meaty subs are. Definitely get a pizza roll, but definitely also get a meatball sub with extra cheese. The family behind the counter are awesome and they work hard so you don't have to stand in line for too long. Capri is an institution and for good reason. They craft one of the best pizzas I've ever had and their prices are beyond reasonable. I love when I "accidentally" forget to take a lunch to work and I get the opportunity to stop into Capri. They have a $5 lunch special every day (even weekends) where you get two slices of pizza and a 20oz pop for only $5. When I say two slices, I really mean four slices (check my photo.) Their pizza rolls are tasty, too, and priced at $2.50 apiece. They have a decent amount of cheese and pepperoni in them. One roll would be enough for a regular appetite. The service can be rushed and less-than-friendly, which knocks them down a star. The dining space is pretty large, so feel free to enjoy your pizza while watching the crowds hustle in and out. read more

What's up with the pepperoni rolls? I've eaten there for years, since high school and when I worked in the area. They are definitely different now. The pepperoni roll bread is bland - certainly not the same Italian bread taste they had for years, and there is a lot less pepperoni than before. The ones that I brought home didn't even seem to be baked quite long enough. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and try them again when I'm on that side of town. This bakery has been around for years and has very good pizza but not sure how the health department hasn't caught up with them. They handle food with bare hands no gloves after collecting people's money at the register. They collect money and then go in the back and fill orders with bare hands. It's actually pretty disgusting. Most places have a cashier or one person collecting money and another person filling orders. This place has all workers collecting money and filling orders. Some collect money with gloves on and never change those gloves before handling the food. Others don't wear gloves at all it's so gross. They literally collect money with bare hands and then go in the back and handle your food. Blonde lady warming pizzas uses bare hands as well. Wow Capri!! Do better! VERY unsanitary. read more

The previously posted positive reviews of Capri prompted us to try them for a work lunch delivery. Their online menu left some things unclear so I called for more info. They were friendly and helpful, patiently answering my questions. BTW, their pizzas are rectangular and a 'Large' has 12 big pieces and an 'X-Large' has 24. We ordered 3 XL and they offered to do a half/half split of toppings for one when we had trouble deciding which to choose. Also, we wanted salads, which they do not have, but they offered to have their next door neighbor La Penguina Deli call us back. Please see my separate review for them. They coordinated delivery with La Penguina and arrived on time. The pizzas were very well received and everyone agreed they were superior to others we have ordered in. In fact, we took the leftovers to our communal kitchen and the people who had not attended the lunch swarmed them and they too were impressed by how much better it tasted than the pizza we normally get. I would say they are more generous with toppings and the crust had better flavor and texture. 'Homemade' seems like a good summary. In short, Capri's is a good example of a locally owned company that offers a better product and service than chain stores. Keep in mind that more of every dollar spent with them stays in the community. Win-win! read more
