There's nothing like a great slice of za and that's exactly what Pie Pushers dishes out. Tabbed as Durham-style pizza, Pie Pushers cooks up a very thin crust pie with a snappy crust. The crust is thin but dense which allows it to handle any gourmet toppings they put on. And Pie Pushers is pretty generous with their toppings so don't feel bad about the $3 - $5 per slice, price. Their plain cheese slice is great too, a good sign for any pizza purveyor. I've eaten with Pie Pushers several times and its always been good food and good service. Hard to believe they can put a pizza oven into that trailer of theirs but yeah, check out the picture. Thanks for taking care of my pizza fix , Pie Pushers!

Ordered 2 sausage garlic knots and Local Firsthand (sausage) and Cluckin Peppas. Knots were much smaller than expected and contained little to no sausage. Served with cold pizza sauce. (Blah). They really had potential because the sausage was good but the execution was just very off. Really enjoyed the pesto base on the Cluckin Peppas. Was a little concerned about the olives but they added a nice salty touch.

Got a sweet taste of heaven this past weekend at the Durham Food Truck Rodeo at Pie Pushers. I had read the reviews on Yelp and we starred it to be one of the "must haves" for the day so we waited in the long line for about 20 minutes. Totally worth it! We opted for the plain Jane slice of pepperoni pizza, not expecting much but holy cow- this pizza was heaven! The crust was so flavorful, despite being the traditional NY style thin crust. It completely blew me to a little town I like to call Flavortown (thank you Guy Fieri). Can't complain about price either, it was $3 a slice. Great price for most of the food items I saw available that day. Totally worth the line wait if you are around this food truck, make it a priority!

I had four run-ins with Pie Pushers at different gathering all across Chapel Hill and Durham, and at each event I made it my point to always get in queue for Pie Pushers. You might ask, "but I thought you said you are lactose intolerant?" To that I answer, "Why yes I am! and that's how much I like their pies, willing to sacrifice temporary discomfort just for a taste." What draw me in the first time was the catchy color contrast on the truck, but what kept me going back time after time is their taste. Get a slice, and you will see (or taste) what I meant. First of all, this is the giant, thin slice that you would get from a NY pizzeria, just the right balance between dough and the toppings; speaking of toppings, sure Pie Pushers has your regular cheese slices and pepperoni slices, but they also have others that are quite unique and inventive, and varies almost every time you drop by their windows. If you order a whole pie, beware of the hungry eyes staring at you sending evil vibe if you happen to take the last creative invention of the day.

Some friends and I headed to Fullsteam after dinner at Toast, which I love, and while waiting around for The Parlour to arrive (they were pulling up at 9:00) we decided that, since we definitely needed more food we should try a slice from the Pie Pusher's truck. I mean, it isn't like I had just eaten the three-cheese and truffle oil panino at Toast, and wasn't already stuffed with cheesy goodness. I mean, why not add a pizza to the mix, right? To be fair, this slice was split among four people, but between the grilled cheese from Toast, the pizza, and the ice cream from the Parlour later on, the amount of dairy fat in my body could not have been good. Anyways, the pizza: It was good! Thin crusted, crackly, with a good crunch all the way through. I prefer a little bit more sweetness in my sauce but overall this was a solid cheese slice. I think I might like Klausie's, another local pizza truck that I tracked down once, a bit more-but that could be because it was a big ordeal for me to get there and sometimes food just tastes better after a struggle. Also, Klauise's pizza is much different from Pie Pusher's-a thick, grandma-style slice vs. a thin slice. I guess it depends on your mood. I'd also like to try Pie Pushers on a not-full stomach, and maybe get one of their slices with toppings. On a side note, the ladies running the truck were super duper nice! Also, if you are at Fullsteam/Motorco and not in the mood for pizza, the Farmhands Food Sausage Wagon is usually parked nearby. I am loving this food truck movement, truly.

Last night I finally got to experience some Pie Pushers glory! I've been waiting a long time for this. It was worth the wait. The guys were so friendly and the service was fast. Having pizza on a Friday night is family tradition and this pie pushin' experience didn't disappoint! - 1 really good sized slice of Pepperoni Pizza - $3 - 1 sausage garlic knot, with real fresh garlic inside, plus a little marinara sauce for dipping - $1 - 1 bottle of water - $1 +$1 tip Perfect Friday night staple for a chill night in Durham hanging out at Full Steam. Thanks most of all for the smiles guys.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Pie Pusher is my favorite pizza place in the Triangle or my favorite food truck, but they are pretty darn good. For $3-4 their slices are very large and will fill you up (which is a pretty good value for a food truck). I've had several different flavor combinations and all have been tasty, although my favorite is probably the brunch pizza with bacon, sausage, cheese and potatoes. The knots are pretty good too if you want a side (and at my last visit they had buffalo chicken knots which were amazing). I wouldn't go out of my way to have Pie Pushers, but I will certainly grab a slice whenever they are at my local brewery as they are fresh, affordable and quick.

Delicious pizza! I tried the pizza at the Durham Food Truck rodeo and was very impressed.

Local firsthand full pie minus the mushrooms ($15+change).

I love pizza, but didn't expect anything "mind blowing" from a pizza food truck. Pie Pushers might not be overflowing with toppings, but they make a tasty pie that makes for a solid meal anytime you run into them. I will say, their pizza's are best FRESH, the first time I tried one of their pies, someone brought pies to our office and they'd been sitting for a bit, not great. The second time I tried their pies, at the Yelp Ritz Market, it turned my thoughts around and made me try them again recently at Ponysaurus. We ordered a whole "Local Firsthand" hold the mushrooms (tomato sauce, local sausage, bell peppers, fresh garlic and mozzarella), which came to $15 & change for a whole pizza with eight large pieces. Again, the pies are light on the toppings, but the crust isn't "floppy" and the flavor is good. It's not going to be the best pizza you ever taste and I won't stalk them at a food truck rodeo, but they're a great brewery option.

Deformed overpriced fresh from the freezer pizza.
    Thomas C.

This pizza is not good. I paid $3 for a small deformed piece of pie that tasted like frozen cheap pizza. Not worth the money....and when I posted a pic of the slice I got on their facebook page they promptly deleted it in hopes that no one else would see it. So many good food trucks in the area so I would recommend staying away from this one and save your money!!

I've been to the Raleigh location as well, check out the review if you want to know more. Panysaurus over all is a cool place (either location) but they have drastically different vibes - which in my book is a good thing. The Durham location brings you an awesome patio scene! The bar itself is a bit small but their indoor/outdoor approach makes it seem huge. The patio is two floors, both covered, one just off the bar and the other right about that which has a few TVs for those interested. Off of the patio is a nice size "beer garden" sitting area complete with picnic tables and a great view. If you are looking for chill family friendly patio vibes this is the place to be! I really love Ponysaurus beer, their pilsner is nice but their kolsch is my favorite. If you've been to the Raleigh location, the Durham menus is not the same. Yes they have pizza but it doesn't seem to have the same options - still good though. We went with a hankering for the hummus we got at the Raleigh location, again the Durham location had hummus but a different variation. One thing that's consistent with both locations is the amount of pita that came with the hummus, there is nothing worse than getting a huge bowl of hummus and only a few pieces of hummus or chips. Both locations knocked it out of the park. Plenty of WARM pita for everyone. This location is somewhat self-service, the bartender obviously poured out beer and there is a cute window for picking up snacks but no table service.
