My friends and I decided to split two pies (the pizzas range from $12-$14 each): (1) White sauce, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, arugula with a swirl of honey (2) Basil pesto, mozzarella and cherry tomatoes I personally think that the pies with more than one ingredient need a name. Ran into Flirting with Fire at the Independence Day Block Party at Nickelpoint Brewery in Raleigh! I had already had lunch but I'm a sucker for good pizza and Flirting with Fire caught my attention. Large food truck type trailers hauling a huge, brick oven pizza in back will do that to me... So it was time for a snack, I ordered up a pepperoni with honey drizzle (I think about $13) which came out pretty quick (5 to 6 mins). Flirting with Fire does a Neapolitan style pie, nicely charred crust with white splotches of mozz, nice! The crust is nicely raised, crisp and chewy. Decent sauce base and good cheese, I probably should have done a straight margherita to get all the flavor though. But I can tell you that Flirting with Fire does a very good neapolitan and is probably the best za you'll get from a food truck right now. So thanks Flirting with Fire! It must be a lot of work hauling that pizza oven round the Triangle but I can tell you that it's worth it for your happy pizza customers... read more

We stumbled upon this food truck at a local brewery and decided to give it a try, we are glad we did! We ordered the 'White' which had bella mushrooms, truffle oil and ricotta cheese. The crust is on the thinner size but not cracker like crust. They cook in a pizza oven affixed tot he back of the truck but thankfully it wasn't burnt on the edges (like some 'pizza oven' places we have been). My husband definitely would like to try it again and get one of their pizzas with meat on it.. I'll probably stick with the White again :) read more

Fantastic fast fresh fired up pizza! I'd never heard of this food truck until Wednesday, when I heard that it was coming near my office yesterday. 11:30am to 1:30pm. There was a mad dash from the office over to the parking lot where it was resting since we wanted to beat the rush. We all arrived just before noon and ordered our personal pizzas. I ordered the pepperoni with hot honey. It was amazing! The crust was thin and crunchy, but flavorful and there was just the right amount of sauce with a sprinkling of parmesan. My friend and I traded so I could try a slice of his Sweet Italians sausage. I hate half my pizza and saved the rest for today. Can't wait to experience it all over again! We were impressed with these guys who were taking orders, firing up pizzas in a mobile beautifully tiled pizza oven, and then getting them out to us in less than 20 minutes. As you may already know if you've read my other reviews, pizza is one of my favorite foods! Therefore, I was really excited to try Flirting with Fire as they were the food truck of the day at my work. I read over their menu prior to stopping by the truck and was a bit surprised by their prices. Although I know food truck prices tend to be higher (which is fine), the prices averaged around $12-$13 for all menu items. I was hoping this meant that the pizzas were decently sized. When I got down to the truck, I noticed that the prices on the menu on their truck were higher than those on the menu they had provided to our front desk staff. Strange. (Ex., the menu given to our staff noted the pepperoni pizza was $11 and "Mike's Hot Honey" was $0.50. On the truck, the pizza was $12 and the honey was $0.75. Hmm...) Regardless, a few colleagues and I ordered pizzas from the truck and were surprised at the service we received from the female employee working the window. She was not very friendly at all and seemed aggravated while taking orders, taking payment, and calling names for people to pick up their food. This was a consistent comment made by quite a few people waiting by the truck for their food. Maybe she was having a bad day; but, it definitely impacted their customers' opinions of their overall service. While waiting, I was observing the truck. I have never seen a "wood fired" grill on a food truck; so, it was pretty neat to see their gas grill attached to the trailer. Also, it was nice to see their sanitary training certificates posted in the windows. After about 8-10 minutes, I received my pizza. It looked to be decently sized; however, the crust was so, so thin and soggy. The cheese didn't fully cover the slices, either. Overall, there wasn't much flavor to the pizza outside of the pepperonis. I was really disappointed - especially for a $12 mini pizza. As a result of the service and taste/quality of the food, I was not truly satisfied with my experience at this food truck. Definitely a bummer! read more

A food truck that churns out phenomenal pizzas and has a wood fire stove, I'm in! I try not to give out 5 stars before visiting more than once so I can take note of consistency but because I ate a pizza and then went back for a second, I felt that was justice and a good judge of their consistent ability to make great pies. I love arugula on pizzas and rarely see anyone top their pizzas with this tasty green without requesting it. Their arugula, tomato, and cheese add the "hot honey" was bomb! Went back for a pesto and mozzarella and it was just as good. Had the best of both worlds as they were at Bottle Revolution on Morrisville. Can't go wrong with pizza and beer. I'll be following their routes closely. read more

Not your standard pizza truck. Stopped at this truck after they were parked close to where I work and I had a few min to grab lunch. You can smell the real burning oven as you walk up. The ingredients are super fresh and the pies are made to order. I was expecting something like at the fair where they keep pizza slices under a heated lamp but this really blew me away. Worst pizza I've even had. $14 pizza with no flavor except the burnt crust. Keep it! Apparently I need to write more so this review will post. Ok I have never ordered food from a food truck in my life but I will say after talking with John the owner of Flirting with Fire today I wanted to try it. I ordered a pizza and I was truly impressed on how good their Pizza was. John as you promised your pizza was the best I have had in a very long time from any brick and mortar building.
