I'm always scared it's going to be overcooked, because at many restaurants the fish usually is, but this was perfectly grilled and well seasoned. The bed of veggies underneath had a really nice, subtle flavor that complemented the fish without overpowering it. I also ordered their banana cocktail, which honestly surprised me. I didn't think I would ever like banana in a cocktail, but it was absolute heaven. Smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. One of those drinks you think about ordering again halfway through. For food, I also had the braised short ribs, and they were excellent. Super tender, rich, and full of flavor. Definitely one of those comforting dishes that still feels elevated and well executed. The decor deserves its own mention. The space is warm, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, and there's an actual live tree inside the restaurant, which is such a cool touch. You can already tell this place must be incredible in the summer when everything is open and lively. Overall, Porch delivers on food, drinks, and atmosphere. Easily a spot I'd come back to, whether for dinner, drinks, or a special night out.

We were originally going to another brunch spot but they were way too busy so we looked up more…read moreoptions on Yelp and came across Porch. We saw they were going to open at 11am, and decided to try our luck by getting there right at opening since we didn't have a reservation. We got lucky and got seated right away! - PARKING - Street parking, make sure you take note of how long you paid for! - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - The ambiance inside is so nice and airy, with greenery and natural light shining through. There's also a super cute swing area next to the bar area that you can sit. I really liked the overall interior design! The staff was very attentive for our large party throughout our meal. There are bathrooms downstairs as well. - FOOD - Bacon Jam Benedict ($20.00): Loved the flavor combination in this! The sweet savory maple bacon jam worked so well! We upgraded to the fried potatoes ($4.00) and they were pretty tasty. Carrot Cake French Toast ($24.00): We got one to share with the table, and I'm glad we didn't commit because it was just OK to me. I wish there was more mascarpone filling, and also a different sauce than chocolate because it didn't pair well for me. Winter Nights ($19.00): We wanted to get some greens in and chose this salad. I enjoyed the mix of greens and also the fennel salami which gave a salty bite! Truffle Parm Fries ($13.00): We also got this to share with the table and you can't go wrong with these! - OVERALL - Great brunch option if you have a small or large group! Really nice airy ambiance for a nice start to your day.

The pad thai had the right tang to it - not at all sweet or ketchupy like some restaurants. Soup was light and fragrant. The green curry was incredible. I've never been to Thailand before but my husband has and he said the flavours were legit. The kits come with fresh herbs and hard to find ingredients, such as galangal, lemongrass, chilies, shrimp paste, tamarind juice, palm sugar, peanuts, and fish sauce. Prices are reasonable - it works out to be less than Thai restaurants in Calgary but it tastes to me, much healthier and less sweet/oily. There are discounts if you order $100 or more, plus free delivery. Pro tip - cut up the chilies in tiny slivers. I thought it was a red pepper and chomped on it. My mouth was burning for a good hour.

I LOVE Thai Manna! We recently discovered these amazing kits at Bearspaw Lion Farmers Market in NW…read moreThey also are at the Millarville Farmers Market. A small is $15, feeds 2 and $24 for 3-4. They provided samples here for various types, green, red, yellow and Penang curry. They are all DELICIOUS! The price is average and I think about how much it is to go out for Thai, portion sizes are a lot smaller, I feel flavours are restaurant quality and I like how I know what is exactly going in the dish. You can substitute for what you like, coconut milk is provided and you can make it a "lighter" version by adding water. Rice is also provided and is really tasty. They are easy to make and fool proof! Easy directions with all ingredients provided to make, though you add your own vegetables and protein. I've bought all of them and love, it's a really good and fast supper. We add tons of vegetables and we have enough for me, my husband and leftovers for lunch. Downside is I wish they were more easily found! You can go to their website to find locations that carry these kits year round, though pricing is slightly better at the seasonal farmers market. They will give you $1 off if you bring back the box and if you buy 3 kits you'll get a free Tom Yum soup. BTW, I tried and it was also soooo good! Give Thai Manna a try you'll love!!

Burgers have excellent meat but could use some condiments like mayo, ketchup etc because they can be a bit dry. Staff are happy to provide your choice of burger topping. Comfy roadhouse style seating and outdoor patio. Drinks are good and the beer selection is a cut above average. Nice neighbourhood spot for drinks or family dining. Lots of parking.

I ordered the Spot On Burger which is an AAA Certified Alberta Angus Beef and includes lettuce, tomato, onion and spicy mayo for a cost of $17.99. The burger was a hand-crafted beef patty that was juicy and delicious. The bun was fresh as well as the toppings. I would give this burger a 9/10 and look forward to the next time I have it, as I want to dine it for the next burger experience. I highly recommend this burger at Spot On. Second visit in September I had previous placed only orders for pickup from Spot On, however this time I dined in for lunch in early September. I ordered the California Dream Salad with chicken. The cost was $18.98, and was okay, nothing to write home about. This is the second time I have had a salad at Spot On, however I cannot recommend any of the salads, the other items I had here were good, don't come here for salads. Third visit in September I placed an order for pickup from Spot On in early September. I ordered the Chuck Wagon Chicken Sandwich which is a BBQ marinated chicken, cheddar cheese, maple peppered bacon, fried crispy onion strings, spicy mayo, lettuce and tomato on a brioche bun for a cost of $18.99. The chicken sandwich was hefty in size and equally delicious. I highly recommend Chuck Wagon Chicken Sandwich at Spot On.
