Gelato here was outstanding! We arrived and the two workers there were very helpful and offered samples. The chocolate gelato was especially fantastic in that it had a dark chocolate taste without being overly sweet, it was a perfect balance. When visiting a city, we will almost never go to the same place more than once, but we did come to Noto Gelato again because the ice cream was so good! I even liked the way they had all their ice cream canisters covered with a steel lid, and the place was extremely clean. Definitely worth a visit. read more

BEST GELATO EVER!! Friends and I were on a trip to Banff and flew out of Calgary on our last day. Stopped by this gelato place we heard was good by word of mouth. FOOD - I got the pistachio ice cream with a waffle cone and it was so freaking good! It was soo creamy. The waffle cone wasn't too sweet and the combination of both is just amazing. My friend also got the mango ice cream which was really good as well. Not too tarte-y and tasted super refreshing. SERVICE - we were there early so it wasn't too busy thankfully! Service was quick and friendly. AMBIANCE - cute little ice cream shop with some unique flavors. They also give out stamp cards which is great. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND I HOPE TO GO AGAIN! Best gelato in Calgary! It is a piece of heaven in your mouth, absolutely melt in your mouth delicious gelato! It reminds me of the gelato I used to have in Italy. It's light, and doesn't make you feel bloated like regular ice cream. It is pure ecstasy in your mouth and it makes you want to come back for more. Definitely recommend this gelato shop! I love the lemon and Strawberry gelato. It is so light and refreshing. The staff are friendly, polite, and helpful. You can buy pints of ice cream and they have an ice cream stamp card. read more

After dinner, we decided to try out Noto Gelato. It's a gelato spot that has connections to an Italian family that runs several restaurants in Calgary. We dropped in on a Saturday evening (around 8:15pm) and it was busy. So nice that you can sample flavours! There's over a dozen flavours to choose from and prices are reasonable; $5.25 (single), $6.75 (double) and $7.25 (triple). There's also a colourful variety of pints ($12.00) to take home. - Triple scoop ($7.25) - we went with the p.b & chocolate, pistachio and black cherry. Texture was fantastic although it started melting immediately. The peanut butter chocolate was similar to eating a reese's piece. Pistachio had a smooth nutty flavour. Black cherry was well balanced. Definitely would come back to Noto to try more flavours. 4.5 stars. read more

WOW, seriously. This far exceeded my expectations! Generally gelato lacks the pizazz of my favourite ice cream flavours as it doesn't have my beloved mix-ins. Well, thanks Noto Gelato for turning this opinion upside down. RATING: 9.5/10 - Noto Gelato The woman who helped us was so delightful. She laid out all of my options. What can I say, it was a tough decision. After much deliberation, I decided on: PB & Chocolate: talk about a creamy, peanut butter explosion. It embodied the essence of PB in the best way. The chocolate chunks were slightly bitter with a nice crunchy bite. Nutella: holy moly! It was so rich and chocolatey. With a slight touch of hazelnut, this flavour is every chocolate lover's dream. I also grabbed a tub of: Carrot Cake: the walnut and nutmeg really shined through here. What a great spring flavour! Pistachio: smooth and delicate, I love the nutty simplicity of this one. I want to try EVERYTHING. If you haven't checked them out, you need to! They've extended their hours to 10 PM just in time for a warm weather late night treat. read more

Came to get gelato here last night. Cute little gelato shop in Calgary! There were a good amount of flavours to choose from but as I went a bit before they closed they were sold out of a few (which makes sense). I tried the PB and Chocolate gelato and the Hazelnut - all I can say is wow!!!! I also tried a little bit of the Pistachio gelato, however, I felt like it was alright. Definitely recommend trying the PB and Chocolate gelato from here! read more

I worked at an authentic gelateria throughout high school so my expectations for gelato are quite high! The storefront itself is very nice and aesthetically pleasing. Upon entering it was nice to see that the gelato was being stored in the carapinas as they traditionally are. Due to COVID they are not currently offering samples but there are many flavours to choose from. I chose the mango sorbetto and the straciatella which is essentially a sweet milk/cream base with pieces of dark chocolate throughout - both flavours were delicious! Overall, the staff were pleasant and my gelato was delicious! Next time I'll try one of their cool charcoal waffle cones. read more
