OKAY CALGARY?!?! I SEE YOU!! Okay if you're from LA you know Salt & Straw and this spot TOTS reminds me of Salt & Straw (which is a MASSIVE compliment)! In-store they have flavors that aren't available online but my favorites was the Zucchini Cornbread & Honey Butter (OH MY GOD YUM! the bits of cornbread made it perf) I loved that they had vegan & GF options, like the cinnamon snickerdoodle which tastes similar to a churro very yummy! It was cool to try a regional flavor as a visitor, such as the saskatoon berry something..and the seasonal flavor of the black cherry & anise def tastes like licorice if you're into that! I loved how they had unique ONE OF KIND flavors that's hard to find elsewhere like mac & cheese or chicken something! this ice cream you can tell is higher quality A+ POINTS! ALSO I like how friendly the workers were with everybody and asked everyone if they had any allergies. I WANNA TRY EVERYTHING! I'm so sad I didn't get more photos..btws was the line long? YES but would I wait in it again? ABSOLUTELY! it moved kinda fast anyway.. but yes if anyone is visitng the Calgary/or rocky mountain area please i'm such a fan of this place!!! its such a cool vibe w all the colors too & I'm all for creative flavors!

They have some interesting flavours, although I can't speak to how they all taste. Marcona almond chocolate ganache was good! Wouldn't recommend the Toasted hay and Saskatoon berry. Not sure what I was tasting.

About time I write a review as I've only been here a 100 times already haha. Every flavour that they come up with is incredible, but what I love most about Made by Marcus is the texture and balanced sweetness of their ice creams. Almost every time we go in, we get the 'flights' as we can never settle on just 1 or 2 flavours, especially since they always have very curious seasonal flavours. My all-time favourite at MbM is the Chinook Bee pollen and Lavender! But I am also in love with their Monogram toffee pretzel and Chinook Apricot Lavender flavours. If you go to their Edmonton location, you must try their Duchess Earl Grey & Raspberry Financier flavour as well!!

Love this place. Very interesting flavors and it was DELICIOUS. They give you A LOT too. It was pretty much two scoops for the price of one. Love it. The workers were so friendly and helpful. Price was great too. I am a huge fan of this place! Wish they had it in the States!

My first time visiting Made By Marcus was back in 2016, shortly after they opened their first location on 17th ave. Now I frequent the 19th Street location at least once a month. Their employees are so friendly, always smiling and willing to help as you decide on a flavour/multiple flavours. Their ice cream is my favourite in the entire city (and probably just hands down). My go-to's are their cereal milk when its in season (about twice a year), malted chocolate honeycomb, buttermilk strawberry, or anything with the words coffee, Valhrona chocolate, espresso, churro or almond crunch. SO GOOD. Their cakes are also delicious - my faves being cookies and cream or the rocky road! They also have special edition ones sometimes, and if you can catch a cake with their lychee rose, it's amazing.

Single split scoop- chinook bee pollen + lavender and double cookies and cream!

Wow! I love the flavors of the ice cream here- between the strawberry buttermilk, the lemon blueberry, the mint chip and the double cookies and cream, the range of flavors is so satisfying. They have the more familiar, homey flavors (like vanilla and double cookies and cream) while also providing more creative flavors like their apricot almond tart, peach jalapeño and bee pollen honey + lavender! They have a seasonal menu in addition to their regular menu which, I'm sure, keeps the locals coming back for more. I sampled so many flavors and ended up choosing a single split scoop of the double cookies and cream and the bee pollen + lavender! I'll definitely have to come back to Calgart next time to try the soft serve!

That's an $88 order before any delivery or service fees are added. Abbey's Creations failed to provide me with any of the items that I ordered. First of all : The cake that I ordered was not in stock. Store policy is apparently not to remove an out of stock item from the menu but to call me after the order has been submitted and accepted (therefore Doordash does not give me my money back if I cancel) and tell me that my only option is to accept a different cake. I would not have submitted the order if I knew the original cake wasn't available. Secondly: they failed to include the three tubs of ice cream that I ordered and paid for in the delivery. So now I have zero tubs of ice cream and a cake that I did not want to begin with. Their only option for recompense is store credit at a place that I never want to have anything to do with again. Plus the credit is only for the ice cream that they failed to deliver and not for the cake in a flavour that they forced me into buying.

They do uses real fruit but they are so cheap on the fruits. Only 1/10 of the drink is the real fruit and the rest is just the cheap jasmine tea (please see photo). I also watched her count the few cubes of mango. Putting in to the cup and then taking it out. The lady worried putting too much mango. There was only 6 tiny cubes before she crushed them. That is not even 1/5 of the mango. They were not even generous to add in the Yukult. They charges a premium price of $5.99 for a large. I couldn't taste the mango flavor or the yukult flavor. It was basically all water and jasmine tea. I believe they only use the fruit to give it the color of the drink. I guess this is a one time visit. The place wasn't busy when we came. I don't recommend Yummy Q. It is like throwing your money away. If you really like Jasmine tea. You can go to Chinatown or T&T and get a really big bag of Jasmine tea leafs for $3.99. All you have to do is have the tea leafs sit in hotwater and then consume. The place is newly open and if they don't change, all their customers will be one time customers only.

We've let the Made by Marcus vs Village debate in this city go on for far too long. For the last…read moreyear and a half, I have been giving Village chances to change my mind, but after what happened today, everything has been cemented. My general critique is that the flavors are thin and shallow. The taste does not have good longevity on the palate, and everything feels artificial. The lychee-mango ice cream from last summer was the perfect representation of this. Today's apple cider was the same; the cinnamon and spices felt like an afterthought. My friend's review of the salted caramel was that it would be better called caramel salt. The almond shortbread ice cream was purely almond extract with very little real nuttiness or shortbread. I actually had to throw my apple cider ice cream away after a few bites because of the awful aftertaste. I think Village needs to improve on their vegan ice creams especially, but overall as well. I really wish this could be a debate the way Earnest and Rain or Shine are respectable rivals in Vancouver, but there is a clear winner here in Calgary, and it's not Village Ice Cream.

But they also balance out the classics with their fantastic unique and seasonal flavours too (like earl grey, peach tea, & breakfast of champions). Their ice cream is so creamy, and each flavour is well-balanced -- the guide's mint wasn't overly sweet but still had that nice chocolate pieces crunch, and the salted caramel was rich in flavour and salted just enough to bring out the caramel flavour. Whatever they're putting into this ice cream, it's a dream to enjoy!

There's plenty of seating inside including tables and counter-height stools, and this dessert is one that is best enjoyed sitting down. While your eyes peruse the menu in all of it's flashy, colorful glory, your ears have the pleasure of being entertained by K-pop and other pop hits. The staff working the register were friendly and efficient and can provide recommendations on the different textures and varieties of desserts offered. Our order was ready pretty quickly, which we had to pick up along with utensils from the register. The presentation of the Souffle Pancake is top notch, while the Earl Grey Cheesecake looked a little demure especially for how pricey the single slice was. Both desserts were light and fluffy (what "fuwa" actually means in Japanese), with everyone enjoying the signature souffle best. Though the earl grey flavor stands out in the cheesecake, the texture was more rubbery. These treats aren't cheap so I wouldn't find myself returning often, but would certainly reward myself (or a friend) by trying some of the different flavors in the future.
