When I got the pizza the center was cold and it tasted so disgusting. The kitchen is pretty dirty looking and the people are not so friendly. I would never go to pie five again. One of the worser pizzas I've had in my life. I've never been here before and ordered for takeout on their website. I didn't realize until I got there that I was ordering a not-entree-sized pizza. I don't know why there is no choice of size. I decided to order a second pizza since the small size was not going to be enough. First let me say that the toppings are really good. If I had plucked the toppings off the pizzas and thrown the pizza away, the food would have been great. I ordered the "traditional Italian" crust. They should not be allowed to describe their crust using either of those two words. The crust was made way too thick and was not cooked properly. Stopped in to build our own pizza because they have a gluten free option for an additional $2. I always like that why have plenty of fresh toppings to try. This time they were a bit crowded which was evident in the lack of pizza sauce...instead of getting more spicy marinara from the back my fiancé and I both got less than half a scoop spread on by a spatula. I struggled with whether or not to give a full five stars...but I did. The concept is legit. Other yelpers were spot on in their descriptions of this place being like a souped up Subway for pizza. You walk in, the menu is on the wall, or grab one from the rack. They have a couple of standard pizzas on the menu ($6.76 each), and then there is a "create your own option" where you choose the crust, type of sauce, meat(s), veggies, etc. The line was long but moved fast (it was just busy). I opted to create my own - a thin crust italian sausage with the tuscon marinara and crushed garlic plus veggies. After you finish dressing your pie, you move down to the salad bay where you can get one of those - get the chicken caesar...it was so darn tasty. I asked for extra salad dressing but I norm always do...I wasn't disappointed in the call. Next up is a little dessert window where you can choose from 3 different types of brownies; I decided to try the turtle. Next you move on to pay...crazy but by the time you are finished with your transaction, the pizza is out of the oven and your salad is ready to go. Loved the pizza; loved the salad even more. Next time I'll ask for extra sauce but no worries, I asked for one on the side and it worked out fine. The sauce is pretty tasty too. I wish I'd had some bruschetta or garlic bread to lavish it on (I was surprised at how tasty it was). The salad stole the show - that was a pretty good caesar salad considering it was semi-fast food. The brownie needed a 30 sec microwave nuke and it would have have been even better. I also tried the BBQ pizza, the Mediterranean (served with a pesto like sauce) and the Chicken Carbonara with caramelized onions (alfredo sauce)...all were tasty. As I sat, I noticed the line would only lull for a few minutes before picking back up; the place is popular. The service is great, delivery is fast, and the food is fres/ tasty. For about $11, you get a personal sized pizza, a small salad, drink and a dessert. Toppings include your fast food standards like italian sausage and huge, thin slices of pepperoni, and some others that aren't so standard like prosciutto, grape tomatoes and artichoke hearts. It isn't gourmet like a Cane Rosso or something where the pies might be more likened to culinary pieces of Italian Art...but it is still good and still worth your casual time. How it works: get in line, create your dream pizza (or use one of their suggestions) including sauce type (marinara, spicy marinara, ranch, Alfredo, BBQ, & buffalo ranch), crust type (thin, regular/pan, wheat or gluten free), and of course toppings galore. Pizza goes in the oven, and out it comes in about 2 minutes. It is "Subway" style pizza. Each pie feeds 1, maybe six small slices. Filling but not making you feel stuffed when you eat all six slices :). I chose to create my own artesian thin crust veggie pizza with spicy marinara. I had my doubts in crunchy crust but it was great, I may consider asking for well done next time though. Pizza was flavorful, I mean it wasn't knock your socks of taste wise, but it was definitely good and of course it's fun to make your own. The Mr. chose their buffalo pizza suggestion.. He said it was good but it needed more buffalo sauce. We also tried a piece of chocolate chip pie... I think we'll skip this next time as it tasted too artificial. The menu also includes salads served in a pizza bowl - interesting for sure! Water, tea or fountain drinks only; no beer or wine. Plenty of tables both inside and out. If I could give them no stars I would. I have lived in the area for over year and come here once a month or so, but this time will be my last. All 8 people behind the counter were more worried about their conversation than the paying customers. My fiancé is celiac so she gets a gluten free margarita pizza. The person behind the counter literally said he didn't know how to make it, leaned across all of the food bins to see the cheat sheet, and still made it below par. Oh I forgot to mention, he didn't change his gloves either. He was prepping regular dough just seconds prior. After the pizza finished in the oven, the girl was too wrapped up in her conversation(refer back above) to realize it was a gluten free, and put it on the same cutting board as the regular ones go on, then put it on a regular pizza serving pan(they're always supposed to put in to go box regardless if it's dine in, or to go), and cut with the same pizza cutter. The food was the same quality was below normal, and my pizza literally came out still chilled in the middle, and the staff could have cared less. They offered to remake and I obliged. Same result the second time (possibly machine error?). The restaurant was an absolute disaster. Every single table had trash/crumbs, etc left on them. We had to brush off a table to be able to dine in without eating in someone else's trash. Whenever some of the conversations were done behind the counter, one employee started wiping tables off, but managed to only to "clean" about 60% of each table he got to. Leaving crumbs and food particles on each he "finished". The final straw was getting a to-go box. At this point I was beyond fuming. I walked to to the counter (3 women to my left and 2 males to the right) to get a to go box and made eye contact with one of the women behind the counter and stood waiting as if I needed something. She just turns and keeps chit chatting(refer back to top again). I visited Pie Five a long time ago with my mom after passing by it and wondering what it was all about. The line was really long, but we figured we would wait it out. It's basically a "build-your-own" pizza place. I built a pepperoni and cheese pizza, nice and simple, and it was pretty good. I loved the size of the pizza since it wasn't overkill for one person to eat. I love pizza, so I have a habit of overeating what's in front of me. I do believe there is a major problem with cross contamination between the 3 different people touching your pizzs, I gradients and utensils. At another location they had washed their hands and had one person working on the same GF pizza. Not feeling so good after my experience. My pizza had very few toppings piled high in the center leaving my crust quite tough and almost burnt. Maybe that's why I feel sick? 2/4 kids liked their pizza...what kid doesn't like pizza? This place is the Chipotle of pizzas. Custom individual pizzas in about five minutes. Get in line and choose from their suggested pies (ranging from veggie to meat fest) or create a completely custom pizza with choices of crust (deep dish, thin, wheat thin, and gluten free), meats, cheeses, toppings. They also have salads created much the same way and served in a crispy pizza bread bowl plus several dessert options of the cookie/brownie variety. Personal favorite is the veggie pizza, followed by the Athenian without chicken. Hubs loves the meat fest, er, Pie Five. I have yet to find a flaw with the pizza and let's just say we've been there at least 10 times. My only complaint is that it gets very busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Loud to quite loud and hard to get a place to sit. Even then, the wait itself isn't too bad. Bottom line - it's about the perfect pizza choice to please every palate. read more

A very good pizza concept. Went in with my son to try it and was impressed at how the operation works. As others said, it's like subway or chipotle. You pick your crust, sauce, toppings and then watch as your pizza is out in the oven then it's out and you've got it The only down side is the size. Me and my son felt stupid getting back in line to order another pizza each. The pizza is one size only. Be ready to order two for the men and teenagers!! As far as the taste. It's not bad. Sent someone to pick up lunch today, they were outside of the door along with other patrons at opening time, however the door was locked. There was an individual walking around the restaurant that saw everyone standing outside, however just looked at everyone and walked to the back. As she was leaving she called the restaurant to find out if they would open soon, or why no one was opening the door, asked for a manager or superior and was told she did not know. In which we advised we would find out and ended the call. The owner then decided it was somehow professional to contact a customer directly by calling back asking if we would be contacting corporate of which he was advised we would, he stated "You just need to shut the "F" up and stay away from my store". And hung up. It's unfortunate to be sharing this type of IGNORANT experience of which is not the first here. I have lived in the area for over 6 years and if you live locally I would encourage you to patronize other pizza locations. Typically in the past when I would stop here, the customer service is always less than stellar, and the food following suit. I've never complained or reported, just stopped going and went to Blaze, etc. This is very disheartening as I sent someone else to this restaurant to pick up lunch and this was the experience. Please take your business elsewhere. I know this brand is franchised and you are at the mercy of the owner with situations like that.
