After trying more local donut shops around town, this is still my favorite one! The service is still the best. Even when they're busy, the donuts are top notch and everyone waiting is patient and civil. I haven't been back for some Cronut holes in a while. every trip reminds me why it's worth the drive. My fiancé is gluten-free, and hands down, they make the best gluten-free donuts I've ever tried. Honestly, I prefer them over the regular ones. The rice flour they use gives each donut a perfectly crisp bite - if you're gluten-free, you'll be amazed. You do have to order the gluten free. They don't have them out. You have to ask and they make them then for you. Be patient! Service is always friendly and impressively fast, even when they're busy. Highly recommend checking them out. read more

The donuts here are good. Though they're way too expensive, too much is going on in a donut and leads it to taste weird sometimes no hate on this location it's just not for me. I'd recommend you try it it's just different from what I was expecting. read more

Better donuts. Better ingredients. Donut kitchen. These are the best donuts in McKinney, and it's not close. These donuts are made with love and real ingredients that don't make you feel like you need probiotic after even if you eat 4 or 12 like me. Seriously, if you are going to go get donuts this is the place in McKinney. Even if you have to drive 15 minutes out of the way, it's worth it. Each bite makes you speechless. read more

OMG - Gluten free donuts!!! The chocolate frosted was decent size, slightly dense, and tasted almost like the real thing. They don't have them pre-made sitting in the case, they make them to order and it's worth the reasonable wait. The staff were friendly and service was excellent. The space is clean and bright. The lady at the front was incredibly kind and welcoming; she even gave us a free donut, which made a wonderful first impression. The donuts are very pretty, but unfortunately most didn't taste fresh. The crème brûlée was really good, but the rest were disappointing, especially considering the price. Great service, but the quality of the donuts just didn't match. read more

Very cute clean shop. I got there early so no long lines. Very nice staff. A nice selection of classic and specialty flavors. Key lime is a blueberry cake doughnut base with a lime glaze and cream cheese frosting, tangy as you would expect key lime to be soft flavorful blueberry cake doughnut. Ordered a minion doughnut because it was just so cute.. soft cake doughnut with a warm fall spice mix.. they place raised doughnut holes in the box to help keep your doughnuts from moving and getting smashed up. Those were my favorite a very soft airy dough! Haven't eaten the last one yet think I will save it for lunch.. read more

Popped in to sort out a sweet craving and I am glad I did. This store is nestled is the rolling hills near Stonebridge Ranch and the Adriatica. I loved blueberry key lime which had berries in it as well as the glaze and berry on top. Red velvet has a great cake texture and cream was light and airy. Finally the strawberry shortcake was to die for!! My wife enjoyed all three and the kids loved their glazed donuts. Price was $13 for 3 gourmet and 2 glazed which is about right. They also have smoothies, boba and breakfast sandwiches. We will be back with the kids to enjoy our donuts next time. read more

1st time in today.. good coffee and very light and flavorful donuts. Ordered the glazed cinnamon twist, cake donut and a hot latte. This place has a very calm, welcoming atmosphere and isn't super loud (albeit it's 10am)... if you want coffee and a sweet treat, come here! I'll visit in the near future, order other items and see if we get to 5 stars read more

They have many varieties that are not in the normal corner bakery. The service is great, and donuts/food is just as great. Husbands favorite it the fluffy (huge) lemon filled and I am gluten free and love their GF version. They allow me to make it with the toppings want. The restaurant has a cute mom/pop feel, it's not huge but allows for you to sit and enjoy breakfast or lunch. My only complaint is they aren't open on Mondays, but I am sure that they need a day off as well. read more

I am sparing when it comes to giving out five stars. It's not something I do lightly. So when I do, it's a special thing. These are special donuts. Lovingly crafted by an artisan. And it shows in the taste. They aren't cheap. They shouldn't be, either. Stacked next to donuts from other locations, they put them all to shame. Stop by this family-run location and be amazed at the incredible variety of their selection. (Just do it early though, as the secret is out - and these donuts go fast.) Make a loved one's morning more special by bringing some of these pastries home. They'll be glad that you did. read more

Checks all of the boxes. Great food and great service. We ordered on a Saturday morning which is obviously a busy time for a donut shop, but they had no problem handling the crowd. The donut I drove 27 minutes for was okay. I ordered the maple bacon donut. The maple and the bacon was perfect but the donut itself threw me off. I'm not sure what they put in the batter but it left an after taste that I was unsure about. Maybe it had cinnamon in it or too much vanilla. I'm not really sure but the donut itself was moist and had a good consistency. I probably should have tried a different flavor but my options were limited since I arrived so late. This is my favorite donut place ever! I love how the donuts are not too overbearingly sweet and I love the cream that's on it. It's not frosting but reminds me more of whip cream. Super fluffy. Not real convenient to where I am in Frisco, but perhaps that's a good thing because I'd likely be in here way too often. So many things on the breakfast menu looked fantastic and gluttonous, but since I was in around lunch, I decided to go with the pimento cheese sandwich because it's difficult to find anywhere with a good one of those. DK's was fantastic. The cheese spread was warm and gooey, but not too messy, on lightly toasted sourdough bread. The house-made chips were good too. I saved room for a peanut butter donut, and while it was almost too sweet (notice I said 'almost'), the flavor was amazing. I'm not sure how anyone could eat more than one, especially after a filling sandwich, but I'd love to try. read more

If you are looking for donuts that just look amazing, this is your place. I loved it when it was family owned, but the changes in ownership shows and the quality is NOT the same. I should preface by saying I'm a foodie and this used to be the only place I would eat donuts from. However, they now taste like every other donut shop around but 2-3 times more expensive. My kids will eat donuts anywhere and love them, so kids thought it was great. I got a cheese sausage kolache that seemed to be made from a glazed croissant with a small slice of bacon attached. It was actually pretty decent, minus the bone piece from the sausage- which wasn't really a big deal, because I just spit it out. The chocolate batter, used to be made from cake batter. Now it is the same gross chocolate all the donut shops use. The coffee was slightly burnt and there was no real cream or milk to add to it. I will say the store front is clean, my kids loved the art on the donuts, and they are fast and efficient. For sure not the worst place if you are not a foodie. But alas, I'm back to no more donuts in my life. I'm also left wondering what happened to that amazing couple who ran the shop.... read more

Stopped by for the 1st time and super glad I did! Located off Virginia Parkway it's a little hidden from street view, right next door to a nail salon. Some coworkers and I enjoyed lunch and a donut and we all enjoyed our meals, the balsamic salad with chicken, chicken Caesar wrap and chicken salad on wheat bread. I had the chicken salad sandwich which was supper yummy with the house chips, there wasn't enough salad in the sand which but other than that it was great! I enjoyed the Italian donut, it was SOOOOO GOOD! Will definitely stop by again to try something different. Great menu, great place, nice staff! read more

The more I thought about it afterward, the more disappointed I was that I didn't speak up in the moment. Treating guests differently based solely on party size is unacceptable and left a very bad impression.

When the bill came I was charged $4.50 for a single piece of toast. This was a ridiculous amount for a single piece of toast it was more than my iced tea. Really $2.00 for a piece of bread toasted seems like a reasonable price. I just finished breakfast at another breakfast spot up on University. I really can't compare apples to apples except for the addition pice of toast. $1.99 for two slices of toast. Over all meal was priced fair. I just don't think I will be back here due to the prices.

We traveled about an hour to get to McKinney and man, was it worth the trip! Quaint atmosphere, fantastic cake donuts and lovely shop owners. These designer donuts certainly are not lacking in creativity or taste. You can tell that the family-run operation is proud of their homemade recipes, despite having no prior experience in the food industry. The cake dough is moist with just enough air pockets, and the made-from-scratch icings really spoke to our taste buds. The blueberry cream cheese is the perfect amount of richness, the peanut butter tastes like real peanut butter (go figure!), and the key lime pie has a well-balanced tanginess. You can spot the difference between this kind of dough and the pre-made mixes fried in cheap oil. The Donut Kitchen is an adorable little donut shop! It has a bistro feel to it and is very open and inviting, granted I didn't go at peak time. Went on National Donut Day and got a peanut butter chocolate and strawberry donut--they were delicious!!! The dough was light and fluffy and the icing was perfect. I love the vast array of unique donuts and will be back to try others. I believe they also have some other breakfast and lunch items which I also want to try. Minnie (who I believe is the owner) was an absolute delight. Her products stand all on their own! Donuts, savory foods, and beverages were all of high accolades! The donuts and coffee all are balanced so well, not too sugary, or overly baked, just right. You'll want more.
