Dropped in with 3 buddies to watch the UCF game on TV Friday night while we were vacationing form Orlando. Was a little worried as they had a band playing in one area of the bar (which seemed a little strange for a sports bar with multiple TVs which is the only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5) so it made it very loud to listen to the game, but we ended up having a great time. We ordered food and some beers and the turnaround on everything was perfect. The main reason was the service. Our bartender/server was amazing. Johnny! The guy was running the bar by himself and was moving all over the place. Getting drinks, serving food and cleaning up the place. We thought it would take forever to get service but he was a champ! We came here after a long day at the beach and running around town looking for a good food and a great time. I must say we found it that night. As soon as we walked in, the waitress promptly came by and offered to take our drink orders. As you look around the place, it gives you that nice feeling of your local sports bar where all the games are on the tv's and the staff will eventually know you by name. The menu has a good array of options. They offer burgers, wings, salads, sandwiches, Mac and cheese, tacos, seafood, pretty much anything you can want. Oh and don't forget to ask for their pizza menu, it's separate from their regular menu. The food came in and everything looked great, the wings had a good flavor, the tacos were Ok, the clam chowder was good. What I'm saying is that the food can range depending what you get. It was Saturday night so they had a live Musician playing his guitar and it was really entertaining. He would play his own songs as well as ask the crowd for music request. Lunch was at the back bar with Richie giving us amazing service and the wings were great. Dinner was at the main bar and Tyler was awesome! Great food and great service! We had a party of 8 people. We walked in and was immediately asked if we were adding 17%, 18%, 20% gratuity.... ummmm, ok that's awkward. we sat down and Nick, our server, appeared to be very annoyed. Short, curt, couldn't be bothered. 2 members of our party asked for red wine and he replied "you want the good stuff or the bad stuff." They replied the good stuff. 2 of the 4 glasses were spoiled. Asked for new bottle to be opened, was told they ran out of the good stuff so we have no idea what was served. Meaning we have no idea what we were charged for... don't worry this gets better. We were ready to pay our tab and I asked to see the tab (it was on the iPad). HE REFUSED TO SHOW THE TAB! I said, "please show me the itemized receipt" I wanted to know if he added the gratuity. He would not show us. Our tab was $248. It was extremely awkward. We had bartenders, bar managers and a food truck owners in our party. We are in the biz. We used to like the Sandbar but it was sold recently and is now Pickles Pub. We decided to give it a try and was very disappointed in our lunch. The server was chomping on a toothpick whenever we came to the table. He kept referring to my husband as "boss" and "bro". The Nashville chicken was overcooked, as was the chicken on my salad. I was in the middle of eating when he asked if we wanted to settle up. He stood there with his ipad while I pulled my card out of my wallet and had me sign while I still had my plastic fork in my hand. I always tip because I live here but this was not worth $60. We love stopping in here for a beer, to watch a game, or as an alternative to Duval street. I am a big fan of draft beer and this place has lots of it, in many varieties. Watched the Super Bowl here with family. The bartenders are all incredibly upbeat and quick to refill your drink. The drink options were vast with plenty of beers on tap! We ordered a few different things off the menu, with the Carolina BBQ wings being the best by far! The establishment itself was quite large and clean. We come here every year for vacation. Our favorite waitress is Brooke. We love to see her because she provides the best service with a smile every time. The food is amazing, the vibe is cool and once again if it weren't for Brooke I don't know that we would enjoy ourselves so much. read more

Pretty much the good, varied selection of beers that WOB had here a couple years back. (WOB=World of Beer) Loved the music, classic rock, they were playing CCR, Bob Seger, Bad Co, etc during our visit. Good speakers too at least near the sidewalk area. However, 'Happy Hour' half price 12-4 only applies to weak, mass produced American beers which I don't bother to drink. Even Blue Moon, which I love on tap, was full priced which puzzled me... We did not eat but the menu had interesting things to try. Can't tell you if they made them well or if they just sounded good... We were there at 1pm and the place was mostly empty. They have good beer selections too, maybe KW isn't the place to have good beers. Too many people happy with Miller Lite, Coors Light, etc... Just thinking about the fact that WOB failed here, and Sandbar has a similar beer model , but, the business model DOES include food, which WOB typically does not, in their chain locations. There is an employee named Tyler that is extremely rude and does not inform peolpe that he works there. He assumed that the people I was with were intoxicated and immediately asserted himself into our dart game. He did not inform us that he was an employee and demanded he needed our ID for us to continue. Tyler looking like a random tourist that has been drinking I decided to not give him my ID. Tyler then decided to take the darts and return them to the bar. I understand that if we were doing something wrong and if employees would be clearly identifiable we would not have attempted to play darts. I guess after going to this establishment I would love to tell people to go there but when you have a person like Tyler working there it is very difficult to recommend this place. This place was a ok. We were here on NYE to watch the conch drop at Sloppy Joes Bar. They are located down the street from sloppy joes so we were able to stay there until 10:30 or so and then head out to the streets to party. Monday is Mexican Monday with $5 nachos and $3 margaritas. The margaritas were good and a great deal. The nachos were not that great. Had barely any cheese and were super dry. Not the best place for food, but they have great happy hour drink specials. read more

We did a whirlwind tour of Key West yesterday. We stopped in for appetizers and a couple domestic beers. I had the nachos. They were smothered with cheese, beans, plenty of guac and jalapeños. My travel partner had the quesadilla. Both were substantial and reasonably priced for a tourist area. The beer was cold and the seats were comfortable. I got the Mahi Melt and was extremely disappointed. First off the crinkle fries were dry and had absolutely no seasoning. Took a bite into the sandwich and it had no flavor and absolutely no seasoning. I opened it up and looked at the fish and didn't see any powdered seasoning, it was white. Fish was definitely just rinsed with water and grilled. Wasn't cooked with anything. So disappointed i took a few bites and left the meal there. Service was good. read more

We love The Sandbar!!! My husband and I visit every time we are in Key West. Just celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary there and had a great time. Tyler and Dave behind the bar are the best! Alex the manager was attentive and very available, always checking in to ensure everything was great and was there if we needed anything. Stopped in here after I did one of those sunset cruises and so glad I did! The food was fantastic! Everything we ordered even the drinks were amazing! The service was great too! Had a very nice and attentive waitress as well. There's definitely a lot of room inside and outside to sit down. The atmosphere is very lively too. I ordered the Mac and cheese which was delicious, and my friends ordered the philly cheese steak, and a quesadilla. I sampled all their food and everything was outstanding! I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order from here! I actually finished all my Mac and cheese and I usually can't finish an entire plate full but it was so good I couldn't stop lol The drinks were also very nice and strong so you get what you pay for. And speaking of paying- the prices were very reasonable, and even if they were a little high I don't think I woulda minded paying them haha You gotta stop in here and get some food! This is a good local hangout and the portions are huge! We got the tostada salad and the dressing is my all time favorite. It's cilantro lime-perfect for Key West. The bartender John was excellent-very attentive and hustled like crazy. Our first salad had the wrong kind of cheese on it so he promptly fixed it for us. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The salad also comes with beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. You can eat the shell as well! Very satisfying!
