I'm claiming Point 5 Lounge as a crucial business along Duval Street. In the midst of bars that tend to blend together along the chaotic crescent, here you'll discover a quaint atmosphere, a gorgeous bar, and a wrap-around-porch perfect for people watching. We came here strictly for after dinner drinks and they certainly delivered on that front. Prices are a tad high for my everyday budget, but c'mon it's vacation! Of course, I stuck with a few IPA's (served in a tall glass), the girlfriend had her usual Whiskey Ginger, and the girlfriend's mom ordered her "custom" Margarita on the rocks. The bartender and (assumed) owner were an absolute delight to chat with. I wish we had the chance to indulge their food menu, but even I had to wave the white flag. This is truly a hidden gem amid tacky and cheesy Duval Street bistros. It's upstairs and way more fun and relaxed than the restaurant below, kinda a local bar that offers really high end tapas that include hand made pasta and amazing other small plates that are varied and delicious. There are eight tables on the balcony looking down on Duval Street, you feel like you are in New Orleans, only the food was way better! My wife swears the Key Lime Martini was like eating a slice of key lime pie, only better. read more

Stopped in for apps and cocktails around 8:30 pm. The bar area had patrons, as we scanned for a table the bartender quickly greeted us and told us there were porch tables available to feel free to sit anywhere we pleased & handed us menus. We sat at a table directly in the front, adjacent to the bar. We sat for 20 mins, watched a server pass us by six times, look at us and say nothing. There were only 4 occupied tables. We left, no service at all, no acknowledgment by wait staff therefore no need to stay. 1 star for ambience and the friendly bartender. read more

I had a great experience here. Nine One Five didn't have a table available for an hour, although some were empty, so we happily ate upstairs here at Point 5 Lounge. They use the same kitchen and have mostly the same menu. A friend had recommended the pork tacos, and they did not disappoint. My mojito was also excellent. My husband had the gnocchi and loved it. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony with the breeze blowing through the palm trees. It was nice and cool up there. When we mentioned to the waitress that we had to run to catch the sunset, she brought us our bill right away. I look forward to returning. read more

Stopped here on our walk over to Better than Sex for a quick drink before our late night dessert. The place was packed and we only had a drink but it took a long time to be served. Only after asking if we could order at the bar with a 20 minute delay did we get our beverages. After we were done it took just as long to find someone to pay the bill. Please know that this is a review of Point5. Seems that another reviewer here wrote about 915. Completely different menus. I have to give Agnes, (our bartender and server), a big shout out for her attentive, friendly service. Sometimes we get the feeling that a server has a little script that is endlessly repeated, but not Agnes! Just a very good, authentic people person. Food- full 5 stars. I don't eat animal products, so it is difficult to find much of a choice on most menus. Now I don't need too much choice here because I will probably order the walnut and pistachio tacos and the black pepper tofu every time!! The menu descriptions understate the massive flavor and delicious textures of these dishes. The presentation was perfect as well. I gave a tiny bite to the carnivores in the group; they swooned. I have to say they loved their choices too. But big THANK YOU to this restaurant for the large number of plant based items. I am taking off one star because they allow smoking! I was shocked to see ashtrays on each table. I'm afraid if we were confronted by a neighboring smoker up there on that small balcony, all the above wonderfulness would have been ruined. Luckily, that didn't happen. And yes, the prices are high but not as bad as a lot of other Key West places. read more

Chef loves sour taste. Artisan cheese's honey tastes funky. Shrimp is cooked to well done and pasta is too little for a entree, about the same to an appetizer. Mongolian rib's sauce is terrible and ruins both rib and vege. Waiter went to bar, got a drink for himself, and talk to other guests. We have to ask another waiter to bring the check over. After we paid he came back and asked us whether we want dessert. Gratitude is automatically included at 20%. Oh man this place is terrible. read more

We arrived and tried getting a table at 915. After waiting for more than 20 minutes we decided to check the upstairs (point one five) and found a table. The food was subpar. They brought us the wrong ravioli and to top it off it was cold. The "truffle" fries had absolutely no sign of truffle. We also had the Tuna fettuccini but they had no tuna so we had shrimp which again was lacking flavor. Phenomenal experience tonight! We arrived amid a crazy downpour, so most of the patio seating was unavailable unless you wanted to be soaked. The bartender was extremely nice and pulled up some dry barstools for us in the corner so we could sit and wait. She catered to us by coming over for our drink orders and delivered 2 rounds of drinks after not forgetting about us when our drinks were low. When 2 seats finally appeared to be opening up inside at the bar, she came over to let us know she was saving them for us. Once seated at the bar, we ordered cheese stuffed dates wrapped in bacon with an AMAZING blue cheese sauce, empanadas, carne asada tacos, and Mongolian ribs. Everything was absolutely amazing. Remember, it is Tapas style, so the portions are smaller. We also ordered the creme brulee key lime pie and mixed berry bread pudding. Wow, just wow. Everything was exceptional. I I had the blue cheese burger and truffle fries and my goodness both were fantastic. Yesterday I ate across the street at a place that was highly rated for burgers and this location absolutely crushed their burger. The Truffle fries are amazing. Great staff. Food was good but service was not. CHECK YOUR BILL. I left a $50 tip on a $250 bill (an acceptable 20%) but when my credit card statement arrived it showed a total of $320 - a $70 tip (28%). Review of tonight's dinner. Cute place but it ended there. It took over 15 min to get a glass of lemonade and my glass of water stayed empty as our server walked passed our table over and over again for another 15 min. She finally came to take our order. But when the food came out my wife's point 5 burger was raw in the middle. We asked the table busser to have our server come back which took 30 min. I will not recommend this place and will inform the bed and breakfast where we are staying not to recommend them in the future. read more

This place was recommended by 2 tourist guide books and was said to be in $$ price range. It was actually in $$$ price range but considering super small portion sizes and that you will order more to feel less hungry it will come to $$$$ range. The portion size is more appropriate for the fancy French place, but you would expect an extraordinary gastronomic experience from the French place, which compensates for the amount of food they give you. Well since this place is not French you should expect to overpay for "nothing special". Point 5 lounge was called before "nine one five", and when it was called so the place was $$$ and 4 star rated on yelp. Maybe with change of the name the owners, staff and quality also have changed. I just wonder how point 5 lounge got recommendations from the guidebooks?! Maybe "nine one five" place use to be good - I've never been there. But the books mentioned the new "point 5 lounge" name! To be more detailed - our disappointment started at the entrance. We had a bulky stroller for my infant son, which would barely fit through the narrow side door (the only way to get inside if you take stroller/ wheelchair ramp). Entire time when I and my husband were struggling to put the stroller with our baby inside a staff member was looking at us. My husband asked for his help, but he was hesitant and eventually I was the one who helped my husband put the stroller in. Then he said: "I saw that you will be able to make it through yourself". At this point we should have left. But no, we decided to stay - it was late, quite hot outside and we were too tired to look for another place, especially having a baby with us. We ordered chicken liver pate as an appetizer, wild mushroom risotto and seafood paella. I have to be fair and say that pate tasted good and we thought it was not a bad decision to stay here. But then we were surprised by the size of the main course portions. We got probably one serving spoon of risotto for $26! It tasted well if I am not wrong, because we got barely enough to feel the taste. Paella was also less and taste was so-so. The only thing we got plenty at point 5 lounge was bread. So if you want to stuff yourself with bread for $90 for 2 (without drinks) this "lounge" is your place! read more
