Danny was a nice guy, but his speech was slurred in the AM making it hard to understand him at times, he didn't recognize the true problem we were having (a valve was old and needed replacing but he said the problem was from my water softener. Other climbers confirmed this and fixed the problem), and he surprised us with a service of $275 for just showing up. This fee was never communicated to us beforehand. The appointment was set up over text, and when telling them I was upset by the lack of transparency around the fee, they said, "If cost was something you were worried about, I feel it's the customers responsibility". What an insane response. I went with another local plumbing company who fixed my problem for $225 total. read more

Very happy with the emergency service provided by Pickell Plumbing. We had a leak between the water main and our house. Unfortunately this meant turning off the water to our house. So we needed to get someone out to fix it as fast as possible. After calling around and having no luck, I looked up on Nextdoor and Yelp to see all the high rated plumbers in the area. Pickell was well rated, so I gave them a call. I am very glad I did. I had a team over at the house and they worked through some terrible weather. So bad they had to keep going back into their van to wait for a break in it. Despite all that, they kept me informed every step of the way and explained what they were doing. They managed to do all of this with a very professional demeanor, despite the conditions. By the time they finished the job, they were about as muddy as could be. May be a little unconventional at times in my experience (Pickell was going through some personal problems at the time and some company changes) but he was up front about the costs and does not overcharge or take advantage of the situation. I used Pickell to install 3 toilets for a price of $350 per toilet which was the same price Home Depot would have charged me. This was Tuesday. He did hot realize I lived in Jarrell even though it was on his requested work form, and did not seem happy about having to drive the distance. As a result, I voluntarily added in another $100 to cover his cost of going outside his normal geographical work area. I have no complaints about the work other than 1 commode ended up getting chipped at the base. He did have problems with the toilet in the master bedroom and deduced it was related to the exhaust vent on the roof which may be clogged. He started work on the 3 toilets around 7pm (I was expecting him way before 5pm) and now it was midnight. The roof issue was not part of the install job which I totally agree so I paid him for the installation and requested for him to come back first thing in the AM (Wednesday) to address the other issue. By the next AM (now Wednesday) I did not hear back from him. I called and left a message but never received any call back. At this point I figured he was not interested in the job due to the distance and ended up calling a local plumbing company who states their charge to fix this problem would be $166/hr plus $35 truck fee. That appointment was set for Friday AM. Later that same day (Wednesday) I received a call from Pickell stating he was on his way to fix the roof pipe issue. He did arrive around 7pm and did fix the roof issue plus I had him do a small water tap for my refrigerator in the garage. I asked for a quote before he started and was told he would charge 2 hours total for the water tap and the exhaust pipe cleanout on the roof. I should have asked for a dollar cost because after the work was done, I found out he is charging $350/hour. I could have had both jobs done by the other company for half of what he was charging. Again, no complaints about his work but I feel his labor prices are way out of range for the area I live. It my fault for not having the quote give in terms of dollars instead of time. read more

We were truely in a pickle and needed someone to come out right away. I was sent home from a surgical procedure. When we arrived home, we had water leaking in our master bath, more and more water kept coming. Pickell Plumbing arrived at our home in about 10 minutes. I contacted Pickell Plumbing for a 2nd opinion, potentially requiring an invasive rerouting of a kitchen sink's main drain as well as a new faucet for the sink to drain properly and not leak. James arrived as scheduled, was open and communicative as he worked, thoroughly checked and fixed the drain issues without need to reroute the main drain or replace the faucet, stepped through some test runs to assure all was working well, and even made sure the area was kept clean before leaving. He knows plumbing and a lot more, is a pleasant conversationalist, and did solid quality work. Danny (owner) was here that night, the price was amazing, the workers were very "Covid safe", they kept me informed of what was going on & showed me what the problem was (which was great because I never felt like I was being "taken" when I thought it was a simple clogged drain and they showed me it was a fully collapsed pipe that ended up taking more work than expected), and they were the friendliest guys who worked very cleanly and efficiently! Had them come out because our toilets were not flushing correctly, thought it might be a main drain issue but wasn't sure. They were two hours late, came while we were gone, checked the main drain and found nothing. Wanted to charge $100 dollars for the visit. I called and said they didn't fix anything. They agreed to come out again and not charge for the visit. When they came they tried to up-sell us a $4500 water softener which we already had. And wanted $600 to replace the insides of 3 toilets. I bought the parts for $60 and did it myself then they billed me $189. I agreed that a fair price is $100, but they refused to budge. No need for luck when God is on your side. After receiving threats about being sued by this company which didn't not complete its job nor did the Initial installation properly I decided to show proof of the shoddy work. All four pipes were installed at different heights which ranged from 18-21 inches high but the sink level was only 16 inches high. This company drivers are out her driving on the I-35 in their company truck with their company logo and number. Driving 75MPH + weaving in and out of traffic and breaking in the fast lane. Almost causing an accident. I called the number off their truck. A women answer and as I thought they should know what their driver is doing since they are in a company truck Representing their brand. The women give the phone to a male and he stared to use profane language and hung up. I called the police to inform them of their driving but not sure if they caught them. But I would not want to do business with a company that would act like this. If they have no shame of putting people's lives in danger in a company vehicle. I can't imagine how they conduct business in someone's home. Their website says they are know for Reliability, honestly and excellent service they sure did not care about their drivers actions. We woke up one morning during the terrible ice and snow storm to find water on our kitchen floor.  We turned off the water under the sink and contacted our insurance company.  We then started calling plumbers.  No one called us back, nothing.  It has now been a month and I am tired of waiting for the over ten plumber that were recommended not calling us back.  I made a list of every plumber in the area.  Pickell Plumbing was on the list.  I called them and received a call about an hour later.  The woman who called apologized for not calling sooner.  I was shocked because it had only been an hour and no one else even took the time to call.  The woman who called told me someone could come to our house the next day.  The plumber showed up during the time window.  My husband was home for the visit.  He said the plumber was courteous, friendly and went to work the minute he walked in.  I never share what we pay for repairs or purchases we make.  However, I will tell you I was shocked in the BEST way possible.  When my husband told me what we were charged, I made him repeated it because I did not think there was anyway the price could be what my husband told me.  If you need a plumber who is courteous, timely, will do a great job and are so reasonable in their prices I recommend you call Pickell Plumbing.  I would give them ten stars if possible. read more
