Food was fresh and still steaming when we received it. The restaurant is clean and the menu offerings are great. We ordered the family meal for 3 (Togo) and requested two plates to dine in and take the rest home. The portions were big, and I loved the catering tray that it came in. It made everything much easier to eat and share from. Service was good and prompt.

When you order and specifically ask for no green onions and then drive all the way home to find that it is littered with green onions does not make for a pleasurable meal. Spent way too much time fishing them out.

SO SO GOOD! Pick Up Stix has upped their game! My husband I decided to stop in for lunch and noticed this location has gone through a bit of a remodel. I love that they've added more booths. The restaurant looked clean and we were promptly greeted by the cashier behind the counter. We ordered the grass-fed Mongolian Beef, Crispy Honey Chicken and House Fried Rice. We didn't have to wait very long for our food and it came out hot and fresh. ALL of the food was fantastic! The flavors were on point. The quality of the food was great too. They are serving in different containers now. You used to get the protein in one container and rice in another, now the both come in one container. I believe the portions are smaller BUT it was so good I really didn't care. We will be back. read more

A typical neighborhood pick up stix. Not a very busy location which is great for getting a quick meal. The portion size is pretty small for what you pay for. You're definitely going to have better Chinese food for a better price at a smaller family owned place but if you're in a hurry for some basic Chinese, this place works. read more

They must have changed the recipe since I've last gone to any pick up stix because there was so much overwhelming mushroom, and though i usually love mushroom, this one had that distinct "squishy" and "old" taste to it. While I had polite and respectful male servers during my first two visits, my last two experiences were ruined by a specific female waitress (It's the woman who looks like she's had visible facial/nose surgery). During my most recent visit, she completely abandoned our table after bringing the food. We had to go without water refills. She basically dumped our food off, got on what I think may have been FaceTime, was speaking loudly in her language, and just abandoned our table. My husband eventually had to track down another staff member just to get our check and to go boxes. The table next to us remained uncleaned until the male waiter came out. I also observed that waitress acting perturbed and ignoring another table's request for separate checks. Because of this incredibly unprofessional behavior and inattentiveness, I cannot trust eating here again. Management really needs to address her lack of customer service. She's going to make them lose customers. I heard the table across from us saying they weren't coming back either. edit: I noticed she's actually on one of the photos here on yelp throwing up a peace sign with a customer. Management needs to let her know it's not a bar, it's a job. She should have that "friendly" energy with everyone, and she does not ! It's sad because the food is authentic and flavor is excellent. The prices are absolutely asinine, my family is already skeptical of CA prices and I was hoping to show them that sometimes they're worth it but instead this just reinforced the stereotype of paying $20 for prepackaged food. 2 stars because our waitress was super nice and gave us a free dessert. She was really apologetic as well. I hope they can turn it around, it's such a beautiful location, I'd hate to see it go to waste on such poor food.

First off, there is free parking available, just circle around the building until you see a garage entrance for retail parking. Two hours for free! Let me first explain the aesthetics of this place. Clean and modern with mid century feel accented with greenery throughout. Please note that they won't seat you until most of your party is present. We came here for Happy Hour which was from 4-6pm from Tuesday to Sunday! This is fantastic that HH includes the weekend!!!! To start, got a wellness shot which had a meld of juices and ginger. A great drink to ready your palate. For cocktails, I tried the Suika Spritz, which was refreshing! The Absolutely Pho-nomenal definitely tasted like cold Pho broth but spiked. It wasn't my favorite drink, but glad I tried it nonetheless. Of course we ordered the $1 oysters, and ordered all three - Baja, Pacific Northwest, & East Coast. It came with some Asian fusion sauces to dress our oysters. My fave was the Baja as these were the freshest! All three were smooth and non briny. On the HH menu we also tried - Bulgogi Birria Vampiro - Tender meat with bulgogi seasoned beef on top of a tostada. Really liked the meld of the two cultures in this dish. Duck Liver Mousse - Comes with rustic bread & crème fraiche. Very duck forward. I liked this because it was rich with flavor. Stone Crab Taco - Loved the nod to Loganisa in this taco! This was by far, my favorite protein dish on the HH menu!!!! Regular Menu - Mango Nasturium Kimchi Salad - I absolutely loved this vibrant and fresh dish!!!! I had to go back for second and thirds! Shishito Peppers with Bonito Flakes - This was definitely a fun and flavorful dish with lots of umami. Dessert - Hotteok and Vanilla Ice Cream - this was my favorite dessert! The pancakes were flaky and delicious!! Bonbunja Tiramisu - Beware! This has a strong coffee taste. It reminded of the strength and flavor profile of a Vietnamese coffee. Parking: The area of San Diego that Choi's is located is unfortunately very bad. Overfilled with homeless, drug addicts, and just plain shady looking people who roam the streets. I was overjoyed when I found out that they give you two hours of complimentary parking in a safe place! So to summarize: The staff that provide great service, the bartender with awesome drinks, and the free parking in a safe place simply do not make up for the main reason we were there: the food. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1 was because of all these other factors besides the food. Before paying the bill and leaving, we did let the server know about the issues we found with the food in a very friendly and constructive way. She was thankful for the honesty and the feedback.

The pork belly skewers were juicy and well-flavored, although we had finished all our small and large plates by the time the skewers came out (we had to ask about them - the waiters/kitchen likely forgot about our skewers, as multiple tables seated after us received theirs before we did). The ayam penyet, nasi goreng, and beef rendang were delicious and well thought-out dishes. We agreed that while the menu is heavily Indonesian-inspired and the food features the flavors of Southeast Asia, the dishes are quite Americanized. Dija Mara shines in presenting a typically uncommon cuisine in the U.S. in an easily accessible manner, which is laudable. Would recommend everyone try at least once.

Went in to dine. The cashier was cool took my order and was plesent. I was having app issues at the time of order and she nicely explained how to use the app and the receipt to earn my points at a later time. When my app came up I remembered that I had an offer for veteran's (yes I am a veteran) I could use. When I explained the app issue to the manager she acted like I was trying to cheat the company out of something and told me NO in a very transactional way. Guess this spot is out of rotation.
