The doctors (professional, personable, quick-witted) are great. They're open Saturdays, which is beyond helpful for us Monday-to-Friday types. They have all the latest gadgets and computer programs to show pretty much every single part of your eye, socket, skull, you name it. (And thanks to modern technology - those dilating drops that made your eyes blurry the rest of the day are a thing of the past.) Look... it's not cheap. (Especially since I don't have a vision plan through my employer.) My sole (penny ante) issue was that the entire office was drab, stuck in the past with some sad ratty old carpeting. But on our most recent visit? The whole place has been given a 'home makeover' and it's new, clean, shiny, warm and inviting. (As much as a doctor's office can be, of course.) Metered street parking. (But be warned: this stretch of Rutherford is always hectic, I doubt you'd even find a spot.) Patient: Doc, I keep seeing spots before my eyes Doctor: Have you seen an optometrist? I started going to family vision as a child in elementary school for eye therapy because I had vision troubles and problems focusing when doing work. The therapy I received there not only helped me with focusing and doing better in school, but made me feel more confident in my day to day interactions with other people. Fast forward about 20 years and I am now working with computers everyday at a internet marketing company (where focus and vision are key). There are not enough thank yous to give to them for what they have given to me. If you are a parent and are thinking about sending your kids for vision therapy, I highly recommend it. I easily made my appointment online and called a day before just to go over my benefits with my insurance. The lady was able to assist me and with my questions as well as what is covered. After getting a regular eye exam, contacts exam and the "peace of mind" exam my total was $70. I decided to get the peace of mind exam since I've worn contacts for years and never checked the back of my eyes or for any abnormalities. The doctor was patient and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. While waiting for my prescriptions I was able to browse the many frames they offered. From high end to cheaper brands, there was something for everyone. An employee approached me stating that she would be taking care of me if I had any questions. I didn't feel rushed or pressured in any way. The last place I went for my eye exams gave me a hard time when I asked for the prescription but this place was very understanding. If you don't pay attention to price tags, you could end up spending close to a $1000 for a single pair of frames (if you're getting prescription lenses). Although I didn't make a purchase on my last visit, I did notice plenty of frames selling for $300+. If you have a prescription, then you owe it to yourself to check this place out, just don't get ahead of yourself. They have a ton of contemporary styles. If you're into the hipster look, then try out Warby Parker (warbyparker.com). But Invision has a ton of styles that would appeal to the 28-35 year old Bergen County resident. Don't get me wrong, you'll find lots of styles under $200 here also. Just make sure that your insurance provider is accepted. Paying out of pocket can really hurt if you need prescription frames. If you're just looking for a pair of sunglasses and don't need a prescription, then you should really think about shopping at Garden State Plaza. You will find much better deals at any one of the eye wear stores there. Parking will be an issue at Invision Optics. Meters are relatively inexpensive though. Then, she told me and my husband, that the frames for our sunglasses were dry and curved and the new lenses could not be put in. (The frames were not even a year old and well taken care of by us) She wanted us to buy new frames obviously. When the owner Verege showed up, he took over and was very nice and helpful. No problems for him, it seems, with our frames. Arlette does not seem to know what she is doing and her attitude is not customer-friendly. Very rude!
