Within 2 hours of ordering, my sunglasses were shipped out! Take your business to Robert Purnell. He is super friendly and will work with you to get the best deals. The doctors (professional, personable, quick-witted) are great. They're open Saturdays, which is beyond helpful for us Monday-to-Friday types. They have all the latest gadgets and computer programs to show pretty much every single part of your eye, socket, skull, you name it. (And thanks to modern technology - those dilating drops that made your eyes blurry the rest of the day are a thing of the past.) Look... it's not cheap. (Especially since I don't have a vision plan through my employer.) My sole (penny ante) issue was that the entire office was drab, stuck in the past with some sad ratty old carpeting. But on our most recent visit? The whole place has been given a 'home makeover' and it's new, clean, shiny, warm and inviting. (As much as a doctor's office can be, of course.) Metered street parking. (But be warned: this stretch of Rutherford is always hectic, I doubt you'd even find a spot.) Patient: Doc, I keep seeing spots before my eyes Doctor: Have you seen an optometrist? Patient: No, just spots.

He couldn't guarantee it because it had to be sent out, but he came through. I was so pleased with the service that I returned this year when I decided it was time for new glasses. He was very patient with me and helped me select the right frames. I love them! They were ready quickly and the price was very reasonable as well. I like that there were no gimmicks and expensive add-ons like the chain stores, just a straightforward price. Small-business shopping at its best.

I opted to get my eyes dilated since I didn't want to pay extra and then afterwards they tell me due to my high prescription (I'm -7.00 in both eyes) I need to get the $39 retinal scan anyways. She told me due to my high prescription, it's best to have retinal pictures that you can take with you to your next doctor for continuity of care, and I never even got the pictures.

I went face first into the concrete, and my Oakley's smashed on the right corner lens, and the side piece came off. After 30 years, I thought they were done for. I brought them to BJ's optical in East Rutherford, and Kathy was so kind and helpful. At first she didn't think she could fix them, but she stuck with it and was able to to attach the side piece to the frame. i couldn't be happier. Kathy was great, and I really appreciated her help and professionalism. I'll be a customer of BJ's for life!

However since I am low on cash, I needed to find the absolute cheapest pair. Unfortunately the shape of my lens is a bit unusual and they did not have anything that would match . The current state of my glasses was that one earpiece was completely off and one of the nosepieces was missing. I had been wearing these glasses for about six months this way and it was to say the least, quite annoying. However Donna told me that if I could bring them back with the earpiece which I did not have on me,she would gladly fix them for me which she did! She saved me quite a bit of cash that I didn't have to spend anyway! She stated just to come back when I could afford a pair of glasses and they would make a pair for me there. So kind of a bribe as it were, which is not only fair enough, but while she was repairing my glasses, I did actually find a pair that I will be buying there that I found to be quite unique and really nice!
