Pi-Hi Cafe has great selection of Mediterranean food at affordable prices. The menu has a wide variety of dishes to choose from Mediterranean pizza, pitas, salads, and vegetarian selection. We've ordered here a few times and the Mediterranean Pizza Pi is a favorite. It's crispy, delicious, and love the addition of shawarma on a pizza. I usually also order falafel as a side but not the biggest fan of the Tahini sauce. This is near Lane-Tech High school where they have specials specifically for students. The service is always prompt, we've always been able to pickup our order in less than 30 minutes. I recommend online ordering, it's fast and seamless.

Came back after some months had past. Everything was still the same and still delicious. I decided to give the falafel plate another chance and this time flavor was so much better. We also tried the chicken shawarma. It was juicy and full of flavor. The service is still a little slow, but food is totally worth it.

Totally unassuming. Totally delicious. Order a shawarma pizza, and thank me later. Also make sure to get the spicy hummus. It's worth the extra 50 cents. The pita was really toasty hot and soft and the hummus was really something. This place is in a strip mall but don't let that put you off. They are putting out some really banging food. The staff all seemed really nice. And it's neat that you get to see right into the pizza oven. I don't have much more to say about this place other than I would order from here weekly if I could.

Not the quality of food I would expect from a Mediterranean restaurant. Maybe their pizza is better but I will not be returning to find out.

I placed my order over the phone for pick up and the staff was extremely friendly . When I came in to pick it up the shop is really small but has a few tables to sit at if you're planning to eat in. I ordered the Mediterranean pizza, hummus, and falafel . The pizza was interesting ! Definitely had a gyro taste to it. The crust was cooked well and I'm sure the other pizzas are good as well. The pizza was enough for two people and we probably could have done without the falafel in order to satisfy our hunger. The hummus and falafel are your typical dishes , flavored well- nothing special . Definitely a good bang for your buck and worth going to !

Overall: If you are looking for a fast and super casual lunch or dinner option, definitely grab some falafel at Pi-Hi. The good: I'd guess to say this is probably the best falafel in the area. Not the best in the city by any means, but it's pretty freakin' good and comes out hot. The pitas that we got were stuffed to the brim (one broke) with hummus and veggies, and the sauces provided were creamy and spicy respectively. The portion sizes were filling and not too overwhelming, the menu is well-varied, and the prices are fitting for the quality and size you get. The not-so-good: While the food was hot and fresh, it did take quite a bit to come out. For a "fast casual" experience, we were there for probably 40 minutes total. The atmosphere is lacking, with an absence of decoration, theme, and overall cleanliness. Not enough to sway you away per say, but it's not necessarily welcoming either. The cashier wasn't very conversational. Atmosphere: 7.5/10 Service: 7.5/10 Food: 9/10

UPDATE: this pizza is still consistently amazing- quality of food and service is always awesome! HOW HAVE I LIVED A MINUTE WALK AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND I ONLY JUST ATE HERE?!?!?!? I've walked past this place a million times, and assumed it was just Mediterranean food. It is Mediterranean food, but they also have a wood fire oven for PIZZA! How on earth I missed this I have no idea. I don't like gyros or other Mediterranean food so I never bothered coming in here. The pizza is freaking amazing, as is the service. They are massive pizzas and they use fresh mozzarella (!!!) The lady at the front counter was so friendly and wonderful. This will be my go to pizza place for sure.

Pi-Hi Cafe is Mediteranean Restaurant on the east side of Western Ave across the street from Lane Tech High School in a tiny little strip mall. I'm always looking for something new especially Mediteranean food. Pi-Hi has a small dimly lit dining area. They serve a variety of Mediteranean dishes and oven baked pizzas that look very good. The owner was super friendly telling me a little about various options they serve. I'm not sure why, but tonight I chose a vegetarian dish that came w/4 falafel, baba ganoush, hummus, tabouleh, dolmas & salad. The falafel was delicious seasoned w/Garlic, The baba ganoush was also delicious (but a little too salty for my taste), the hummus was ok and the dolmas was also very good but a little too salty. They also have 3 their own sauces, a hot sauce, tahini & a Garlic tahini (my favorite). Overall it was a pretty good meal. I would like to come back and try some of their other dishes like the chicken shawarma and maybe one of the oven baked pizzas. They looked delicious.

Ordered Baba Ganoush, cheese pizza, fries, a falafel sandwich, and spicy hummus for delivery. Came so quick and the food is all SO GOOD. I'm so impressed with everything, I stopped eating just to write this review. I'm really bummed I'm discovering this place right before I move out of the area!

It's really convenient for me to stop by Pi-Hi to grab food and since I love Mediterranean, I'm happy that it's so close by. The chicken shwarmma is fairly good so I tend to get a plate of that or sometimes the combo chicken which also comes with kebobs. The hummus is delicious and since most Mediterranean places don't include hummus in their meals, it's a really good bonus! On the other hand, the rice is rather plain though - it's missing some spices that could take it to another level. Also, the garlic sauce that I opted for on the side did not taste like garlic at all! Falafels - does not compare to Pita Inn...I am a strict believer that Pita Inn has the best falafels in the world so I was dying to try the falafels here given that some reviews have noted that the two are similar. Nope! Sorry, but Pita Inn still trumps all. It's not bad here but it's just not comparable. Sweet potato fries - Hm...what to say. Definitely not the best sweet potato fries I've had. It could be a bit crispier and less burnt on the edges though with more flavoring that actually sticks to the fries. Dolma - fairly cheap. You get 6 small ones for $2. I wish there was more stuffing to fill out the grape leaves. Pi-Hi didn't live up to its amazing reviews for me in terms of their Mediterranean food but I do plan on trying their pizzas and paninis later.

    Avocado Panini

Came here for Lunch today and had a very delicious avocado panini! Was light yet very filling, the bread was amazing! I have known about this place for years, I absolutely love their wood fire pizza, so I'd definitely recommend that if you're in a pizza mood. The fries are delicious and crunchy. However I found the sauces (Tahini and garlic Tahini) to be watered down and lacking in flavor, but the tzatziki sauce was amazing! The falafel was perfect, it had the crunch on the outside but was moist and soft inside. The food was ready on time and the prices are reasonable.

It's still pretty basic with simple meat sauce and cheese, but I actually appreciated the simplicity--it was different without trying too hard. The highlight was definitely the BREAD for a starter! They push the Mediterranean Bread, and honestly, you should let them. It's enormous, blistered, fragrant, and arrives like a hot air balloon made of carbs. More importantly, it gives you something genuinely delicious to tear into while you wait for the pizza pot pies to emerge from whatever subterranean chamber they're baked in. It's both a starter and a survival tool. A reservation is non‑negotiable unless you enjoy contemplating your own mortality in a weekend crowd. The wait times can stretch so long you could starve to death before your name is called -- and the regulars will nod knowingly as they step around your skeleton. Plan ahead. The salads are comically oversized, the kind of portions that make you wonder if they're meant for a family of four or a single very determined marathon runner. But let's be honest: no one is here for lettuce. We're all here for the pizza pot pie, that molten, bread‑wrapped, cheese‑laden dome of joy that defies every attempt at categorization. It's not deep dish, it's not thin crust -- it's its own thing entirely, and that's the point. This is the place you bring out‑of‑town guests when you want to show them something uniquely Chicago without defaulting to the usual deep‑dish suspects. But it's also the place you come back to on your own, because once you've had that pizza pot pie, it lives rent‑free in your brain until you return.

When I walked by, it was very crowded, loud, and busy with a line going down the street. I decided to place my order online instead, but here's something you definitely need to know: ordering online does NOT mean your deep-dish pizza will be ready quickly.Mine took about an hour and 15 minutes which I was told is pretty normal because deep-dish takes a while to make. I had my little stool with me, so I sat outside, took some pictures, and did some people-watching while I waited. There is some street parking, but there's a large building across the street that looks like apartments or possibly a hotel, so parking wasn't the easiest. They have a little To Go area where you can grab drinks and other items. I also bought a couple of their frozen deep-dish pizzas to take home and I'm glad I did! I baked one at 350° for about 40 minutes and it came out gooey, gooey, CHEEZY Iwould've liked a little more meat on it, but it was still good. They ship also. I also ordered a small/personal deep-dish pizza while I was there. By the time I ate it, it wasn't as warm as I would've liked, and I'm one of those people who does NOT like cold pizzaI know some people love it, but that's not me! So if you're like me, I recommend eating yours as soon as you pick it up from the counter while it's still hot. I ordered a soda. Total about $75 If you plan to dine in, give yourself plenty of timeThis place is very popular and the line can get LONG. Overall, the pizza wasn't bad, and I would definitely go back and try something different next time. The frozen pizza I brought home and baked fresh was actually one of my favorite parts!

Vibes in there are super fun and chic, casual but still cute and a little bit old-school I had done my research on our order lol but was really impressed by everything. The mozzarella sticks were very silky on the inside crunchy on the outside and came with a nice flavorful pomodoro dip. The meatballs had an Italian sausage/fennel flavor and were very tender, and the zucchini chips were the star of the apps!! Nice and crisp, they were cut into little super thin chips not like a traditional fried zucchini and the dipping sauce on that was also delicious and super fresh tasting Finally, we tried the spicy vodka tavern style pizza and added pepperoni to half.
