Local small business located in Logan Square neighborhood. I have been meaning to try this and finally decided to check it out. They have daily specials. On the day we ordered they had a 2 for Tuesday, which was $12.47. It includes two 6inch sandwiches. Not all sandwiches are included but there was turkey, beef and pork options. We grabbed the cow (roast beef) and the Italian. I was able to order easily online and personalized options for our sandwich. The order was ready for pickup in less than 10 minutes. Everything made as ordered. Downgraded to 4 stars as meat was light. I am not sure if this was because of the special or just how much meat you get on a 6 in. My husband was still hungry after a sandwich so next time will get bigger size sub and maybe try the soup. They also have desserts and other sides at this location. read more

I ordered an eggplant parm sandwich for lunch from Rosie's the other day and it was an OK experience. Like I thought on the order screen, it was listed as an 8" sandwich, but what I received was definitely not bigger than 6". Then the bread was kind of just... soft. And the eggplant and all were kind of OK. Not crispy and kind of just mushy. Part of it is the delivery experience, I'm sure, but I didn't get the feeling that I would have enjoyed this in-person either. Maybe their normal cold sandwiches are better - idk. read more

I've always passed by this little sandwich shop in California and have always wondered what they got. Finally I had some time to pick up food for lunch and the hubby placed a phone order for pickup and the rest was history. It's a tiny shop on Logan and California, so don't blink or else you'll miss it! I lucked out and found parking right in front of the shop, actually I was illegally parked but just put my blinkers on as I was on a mission to do a quick in and out! The service was fast and efficient and got my food in about 5 min or less. I ordered the turkey sandwich with cheese and when I got home, I was expecting your usual sub sandwich comparable to Subway or Jimmy John's. When I opened up my sandwich I was surprised to find fresh deli meat in there and the sandwich was dipped in some sauce. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted my sandwich all dipped and wet but once I bit into that sucker, I was pleasantly surprised that I really loved the taste. It was a very tasty turkey sandwich! They're quick and efficient with a great selection of sandwiches. I personally would recommend the R.O.I. Good food and nice people! Food was made fresh and ready when promised. It's a pickup and go place. A few chairs inside while you wait. A variety of drinks are available too. Italian beef, BLT, Caprese sandwich and the New Orleans Style Muffuletta. Everyone enjoyed what they had. I had the beef, it was very good, not the best I've had, but I would definitely order it again. One other comment was to put a little more on the BLT. The Muffletta and Caprese were both a hit! Sandwiches are the best and prepared well. They are on the pricey side but I love them a ton. Never had a bad sandwich from this place. Make sure to remember it's cash only as well, their Italian sub rules. They also have quality chips and drinks too which is a requirement for a good sub place. The staff is definitely on the quieter side but in the multiple times I've been there my order was correct and served quickly. Everyone here who is criticizing them seems to forget that working in service isn't always fun, they weren't rude but they aren't going to be cheery and honestly I don't care. I don't need to be buttered up and it's nice not having to make small talk while waiting for my sub. Also, they have never been outwardly ~rude~ to me, just quiet. Some people just want their asses kissed, I'm not that customer so take that for what you will. Anyway, the food is good, fast, and done right. My partner and I always try to eat local and we found ourselves wanting sandwiches. We found a neighborhood gem. Owned by super nice people who use fresh ingredients to include some homemade breads such as on the muffuletta. We did the picnic basket for 2 when we found it on their menu (they also have larger baskets) and decided to have an impromptu picnic. First time ordering, i got the Tuesday Special - (2) 6" Deli Subs for $12. It is a good deal to try a couple of subs without a huge commitment. Overall, great bread, quality meats and cheese, fresh toppings. They weren't stuffed, but certainly not skimpy. Definitely worth a try! Toasted Ham & Cheese - I was a little worried when I first unwrapped it that there wouldn't be enough cheese, but it was all there and really well balanced, great sub. Cold Classic Italian - Again, really nice balance of great ingredients. Unfortunately, they do not specify that they use Balsamic Vinegar - I wouldn't call that 'Classic Italian' and ruined the overall sub for me. I will try to specify Red Wine Vinegar next time and then it would be perfect. I splurged on the Italian Wedding Soup ($6.50 for 8oz!). Again, it's not a Classic Italian Wedding Soup, it was more like a light Minestrone with meatballs - But it was good. read more

I've only had one short-lived interaction with the owner, but it was pretty weird and inappropriate in my opinion. 'Twas so off putting that I won't ever go back here. Don't assume things about your customers and don't ask them to pass out flyers for you. Okay, full disclosure...After reading the negative reviews, I went in here for lunch today, really wanting to hate this place. I placed an on-line pick-up order and drove over to get my sandwich, fully expecting the employees to be a-holes and the sandwich to suck. None of that happened. I told him I was, gave him my name, he handed me my sandwich, and I was on my way. Granted, my exposure to the guy behind the counter was limited, and I very well may have not liked him if I got to know him better, and he may very well have been a 1st class d!ck, but for the purpose of what he and I were trying to achieve with that interaction, I think it went well...For both of us. I got home, opened my sandwich, and it was a solid looking turkey sub. I'm kind of a sandwich snob, so I doctored it up with some Marconi "medium hot" giardiniera relish and some of my home-made oil, vinegar, and Italian seasoning, and then dove into the sandwich with 2 hands while my two 160 lb English Mastiffs stared at me from the couch where they sleep 23.5 hours per day with a look of envy on their faces. The sandwich wasn't mediocre, as I was expecting it to be based on some of the reviews...It was actually pretty darn fantastic! I wouldn't say that it's the absolute best sandwich in Chicago, but I would put it in my TOP 5, and that's saying something, because I also frequent Bari, L' Appetito, J.P. Rosie's has been my go to sub shop for over a year, it's my every Sunday stop after the farmers market on my way home. The cashier, Rose, always recommends a different sandwich every week and the recommendations never fail to exceed my expectations. The guy behind the sandwich prep table, I believe she mentioned is her brother, always has my sub ready in less than 5 minutes. I had the Italian sandwich (my go-to sandwich) with everything including giardiniera and it was delicious. I usually don't order with the balsamic but I think that might be my new favorite addition. When drizzled over the onions-**chefs kiss*-it just takes it to a whole other level. I love Bari, and Humboldt Haus but I would put Rosies up there with them as equally amongst the best in the city.
